The resort was lovely and tidy with no rubbish lying about whatsoever.

We enjoyed all the activitied which were on offer and took advantage of the horse riding available at a nearby ranch.

The beach was excellent.

The resort Carbetta is quite small not much there apart from 8/9 gift shops plenty of bars a couple of night clubs.
Very nice Irish bar.

The beach is very clean. As the wind gets up in the afternoon there are a lot of kite surfers very interesting to watch When the wind is strong you can not sit on the beach as sand gets in your eyes and mouth.

While we were there the Donminicans had religious holiday. The night before and for three night after they celebrated.

Opposite the hotel was a Esso gargage. On the forecourt gathered around 500 Donminicans along with a sound system and they partied on the forecourt all night long. I felt as if my bedroom was right in the middle of the party.

This party has put a whole new meaning on garage music!

The Riu Bachata, Mambo and Merengue are their own private resort at Bahia Maimon, the beach stretches along the length of the resort. Unless you are staying at these hotels you cannot get to the beaches

The beach is wonderful and clean, it is cleaned everyday by the gardeners at the hotel who rake up the leaves etc.

The sea can be quite rough, tides quite strong, but that is due to the fact the resort is on the Atlantic coast. It is also not white powder sand that a lot of people expect from the Caribbean, however the beach was lovely, always clean and plenty of room, had sports facilities including football goals, volleyball as well as a beach bar at the Mambo end and at the sports beach.

there can be stones/coral and would highly recommend water shoes. The watersports part of the beach was quieter and calmer as was in a more enclosed cove, ok for younger kids to paddle and snorkel and for adults to try the pedaloes, jet skis, parasailing etc

We didnt tend to venture outside of the hotel complex as per the advice of the holiday rep, we did on one occasion leave the complex and were greated by friendly locals, it can be a little overpowering as they all tend to surround you trying to sell you anything they have in their possession. However the resort itself wes very cultured, the beaches were beautiful and we would definatley return here again.

cabarete is a lovely little town. although not the cleanest of places you have to remember, this is not europe. they are a poor country. however the locals are very lively, happy and friendly people. you will find them trying to persuade you to go into their shops and to buy things ie the hair braiders and the jewelry sellers on the beach. but a polite but firm no thankyou usually does the trick.it is abit of a culture shock initially but you adjust to it. they are very relaxed here. there is horse riding on cabarete beach-it was fab! not recommended for novice riders or young children though, as you do go through the sea, up into the mountains and for a lovely gallop along the beach. everything here is really cheap. the horse riding was about £8 for a 3 hour ride! and i had hair extensions and had it braided for £30! (in england it would cost around £300 at least) we went in november and it was well above 100degrees! it did tend to shower in the evenings but it was still warm! we also visisted sea world where we did a sea lion encounter-fab!! well recommended!

The beach was very clean. The only thing I would really say is that the sea is very rough it is a red flag beach which was great but you couldn't really swim in it.

Miles from anywhere informed not very safe to go off hotel grounds on your own.Had armed guards on the main gates.Which you have to go out of to use bank machine Entertainment we found it to be aimed at children to much. Annoying having volleyball on beach most days getting sand sprayed over you constantly, Took part in only one activity that was good which was a game based on olymic events which was fun. beach was ok too many trees though.Have to go to other side of complex to take part in watersports as there not allowed on main beach, also when you do g oto other beach you get harrassed to by everything from the stalls that are set up there.

We never went out into the resort as there was so much to do in the hotel, we also went on a lot of excursions away from the resort but we did hear off other people that the resort was clean and friendly and there are a few bars and shops.

Luperon town has a few good clothes shops some supermarkets and a habour, worth a visit if your brave.
I got my hair braded in the town by a women who was also hooker... it was cheaper than there were charging on my complex.
Lots of things are cheaper in the town ie rum, fags and clothes.
I dont advise going there after dark, there is a disco there but i wouldnt chance it.
We went there with two the the staff from our hotel and nearly started a fight because we were white.

The beach is just like a bounty advert.
