We stayed at the Ocean sands from June 10th 2010 for 14 nights.
We were with another couple and their children.
We stayed In villa 8 ( block 8 ) On the 3rd floor pool facing.Our 1st room had 2 double beds and a sofa bed but after a week of no aircon we eventually gave up on the fixing it and had to pack up and change rooms. We remained in Villa 8 but a smaller room.... One super king bed and sofa bed for our son. All rooms have whirlpool baths although I suspect not many people use them. The bathroom also has a few nice touches.... Mouthwash, shampoo, conditioner, sewing kit etc etc.
The aircon is very much needed in the heat so we were very glad to have eventaully moved.
There is a mini bar / fridge in every room. The first day it had water, soft drinks ( pepsi and sprite ) and also 2 cans of Beer. After the fist day it was hitty missy for the beer and it became apparent if you tip the maids you get it and if you dont you dont !
The rooms were spacios and clean.Fitted wrobes but with limited hangers so take your own as 8 between 3 people is no fun.
Cleaners as all the staff work very hard although times of the room being cleaned varied from 9am to 17hr ?
No need to take towels as plenty in the rooms and when you check in you receive a towel card which you exchange for Towels for the pool / beach.
The ppol areas as all of the complex are stunning, 2 pools although the Yellow pool is the party / entertainment pool we were chose the blus pool as thats where the child setion is. There is a pool bar in each pool and the beach is on the edge of the complex ( perfect beach )
Restaurants galore.... We used the main buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner most days as the Mexican restaurant wasnt any better nor was the Italian for which you need to wear full length trousers. Route 66 was the best we tried although again most of the items can be found in the main buffet restaurant but it is nice to sit and be served rather than have buffet every night.
The buffet restaurant had a theme each evening ie.... mexican, italian, oriental ete etc. Drinks are served in your seat and the staff are great, fresh fish counter each evening, paster bar each evening, american section each evening and then the themed section so PLENTY of choice.
I must mention the entertainment is geared towards the Peuto rican and American visitors who are aprox 95% of the guests, I would say there were around 100 Brits there when we were and the complex hold aprox 3500. Although It didnt spoil it some people may not like that.
The biggest test for a hotel is in my opinion if you would go back or not.........
We were unlucky with the weather and had a 17hr delay and an extra overnight stay due to bad storms but YES I would go back !
Great place, good staff and a fantasic holiday !

After reading some reports i was a bit worried what we would find,but i need not have worried at all.we have been to the caribbean many times and this was one of the best!! The staff are fantastic and are always happy,i bet you cannot find a miserable member of staff anywhere on the complex. I found it thoroughly relaxing, with good facilities and great food.managed to go horse riding and on the speed boats to a great snorkelling area and of course the free kayaks and bowling were great fun.
I would not hesitate to return.if i had any complaints it would be that if you left the complex there was nowhere to go in walking distance.

Just returned from this hotel and what luxury it is.

Never been as upset at leaving a holiday. Everything you could possibly want is right on your doorstep. The rooms are extremely big with enough room for 5 easy. They are kept immaculate by the hard working maids.

There is something going on 24hrs a day if you want to be involved or you can leave it behind and go to your room where you hear nothing. You never have to walk anywhere as golf buggys are constantly going up and down the resort to take you wherever you want to go.

The food well it was truly exquisite too much choice and not enough time to get round it all.. Mikes coffee shop is a must, every kind of coffee and cake you could think of. There is champagne in the buffet at breakfast if you wanted it.The american diner is a must.

Go on try this resort you wont be disappointed.

This hotel was fantastic we changed our booking after the first hotel we booked appeared on holidays from hell I'm so glad we did, upon arrival we were greeted with drinks and an ice cold flannel which was very welcoming after the long flight and ride from the airport.

The entrance is really grand shining floors and well dressed staff. Your luggage is taken to your rooms which are located in the spacious grounds and you can go with your luggage, advisable as you will probably get lost trying to find your room, just jump on the golf buggy and enjoy the ride round.

Good clean well maintained grounds which include pink flamingos and music out of rocks ha ha really,

We had a ground floor room very spacious, king size bed, a large sofa, colour TV, lovely bathroom, jacuzzi bath wow!
So relaxing after all that sun bathing, fridge to get an ice cold beer what more can you ask for!

There are two large pools and loads of sun loungers, activities are round the pool closest to the beach. You can have best of both worlds quiet, no activities at one end or bop and play at the other end.

The beach well eat your heart out its beautiful that's all I can say seeing is believing.

Now then the food oh my goodness where do I start there is so much choice when they say you are spoilt for choice they are not joking 5 AL la carte restaurants and a huge buffet dinning room and you can have champagne with every meal even breakfast. I know that because Steve my husband did.

All the effort that was put into the displays with the food and around the food was superb.

The staff are so friendly you feel like you've known them for quite sometime, nothing you ask is to much trouble they see you once they recognize you every time, if your cup or glass becomes empty they are there to fill it up again, if you need anything in your room just ask they make you feel so relaxed.

Drinks just ask and you shall get whether it be a bit more Rum, Coke a larger or even a coffee its there 24hrs a day but do remember to drink plenty of water as you don't want to spoil things by becoming dehydrated.
