I went last year with my partner, a friend and his partner, and so returned the same dates this year. This time attending with my Daughter and her partner.
Once again, we had an excellent time. I, myself, am in my 40's, as is my partner, and my Daughter and her partner are 18. Yet we all found it great. We managed to meet some fantastic people, of all ages, and have even arranged to meet them there again next year!
The food, again, was wonderful. Describing it to my Daughter last year, I must have sounded like I was exaggerating, but she herself can tell you I really wasn't! They really do cater for all.
The entertainment team made the holiday more enjoyable, as always! Thanks a lot Adam, Laura Mc, Laura Wales, and the lovely Emily. You made our holiday!
The rooms were a good size, and the views over the Med are nice. The staff in the hotel itself were polite, friendly, and very helpful. Our rooms were cleaned daily, to a very good standard and for a 10 Cypriot pound returnable deposit you could take and change a decently sized beach towel as much as you liked. We took advantage of this daily!
The pool area was very big, with a vast choice of sunbeds, which were available at all hours of the day, which certainly surprised my Daughter.
The pool itself was very clean, I noticed it was cleaned daily by the staff. Very decently sized, with plenty of space for people to lounge, swim or merely sit and chat.
There is currently some building work across the way from the front of the Hotel, but it went unnoticed by the vast majority of holidaymakers. I never heard anyone complain about it anyway!
My advice to anyone going to the Ascos is to GET INVOLVED!
The Reps are constantly arranging games, quizzes, competitions, and entertainment. The more open you are to the activities, the better your holiday will be!
From Mister and Mrs to Magic Shows, Casino Night and Water Volleyball - The Reps really did use their imagination to cater for all.
Karaoke Night is a must. And the several visiting performers were good also.
Once again, get involved and you'll have a great time.
Thanks for taking the time to read my review, I hope if you do intend ongoing, it

On arrival we checked in and found one of the two lifts in reception out of order this lift was out of order for the duration of our stay.
When we went to our room we found it to have a small bathroom which was unclean also a burn mark in the carpet in the bedroom from an Iron the room it was what we would call shabby and need of refurbishment.
We then asked if we could be moved to another room and we were told all the rooms are the same,we then paid to upgrade to a sea and pool view this room, and bathroom was certainly bigger. We then found a Ladies garment on the floor behind one of the chairs in the room so this shows the cleaning is under par.
The air conditioner in the room was very poor and we complained about this and we were told they had one of the chiller units on the roof broken, again this remained broken for the duration of our stay.Although we did speak to people who's air conditioner was working fine.
The bathroom towels were supposed to be changed every 3 days but ours were only changed once in the week we spent there, also as were the sheets the top sheet in the bed I slept in had a cigarette burn in so I know this was not changed all week.We also had to complain about the cleaning as it was clear the room was not been hoovered.
There was very little air conditioning in the hotel and where you have your evening meal is too hot to eat in and on two nights we decided to eat out of the hotel due to this also if you asked for bottled water while having a meal this is not chilled and luke warm.
The food is of an o.k standard not as much choice as other 4 star hotels we have stopped in.
The breakfast is the same day in day out but not too bad a choice the down side was on one morning we found there to be Ant's swarming in the Jam by the toaster we brought this to the attantion of the waitress who just wiped them away with a damp cloth.
The pool area is fantastic and the entertainment team very friendly and they work there socks off. There is a decent choice of alcholic and non alcholic drinks but you have to pay for bottled water outside the restraunts.
There is also major building work going on at the front of the hotel and people we spoke to had been awoken at 06:30 when the builders started luckily enough where our room was situated this did not effect us.
In my honest opinion I found this hotel to be unclean, tired and in need of refurbishment it is well below what I expect from 4 star and I would not recommend it anyone

We weren't the only ones staying in our room - we had two resident cockroaches that lived in the bathroom - nice!
The pool area was fantastic and we spent most of days there - good waiter service!
The food was really good and a good choice was given everyday - I can particularly recommend the ice cream!
The day/evening entertainment was absolutely shocking!!! We had to go out of the hotel to enjoy a decent night!
The beach was the worst I have ever seen.
There was two lifts as mentioned in another review and one of the lifts was also out of action for the duration of our stay. Air con was none existent!
All in all we had a good time but my standard of 4 star and the Ascos' were totally different.

We found the rooms spacious and clean, indeed all the hotel was clean. There is some building work nearby but it creates no disturbance whatsoever, and Cyprus is having a lot of villa development currently.
The food was plentiful and with enough variation. The staff in the restaurant were polit and very friendly, indeed this can be said of all hotel staff. It is a small walk to the main street and a little further to Coral bay beach but the location is fine, although entertainment tends to finish at around 11pm as there are residential properties near the hotel.
The entertainment team are young friendly and extremely hard working. I have seen criticisms on other sites and found this unfair, they are not profesional entertainers and are an entertainment team put there by Thomas Cook and often work from 8.30 in morning till 11.30pm at night, and there was visible improvement in their shows even in the time we were there.
It might be worth the other tour operators contribting torwards this, as they benefit from the Thomas cook reps entertaining everyone even if you didnt travel with Thomas Cook.
We would certainly have no hesitation in returning.

On arrival the hotel looked as smart and clean as ever, and we were attended to very quickly and efficiently by the reception staff.
Although one lift was out of order this posed little of a problem, as the other didn't leave you standing around for too long, and it encouraged us to get a little exercise by taking the stairs, you've got to burn those cocktails off some how!.
We were given a room at the front of the hotel, which was fully air conditioned and felt like heaven after a long hot day at the pool!, the room was a good size with a nice bathroom and was kept very clean by the maids, who changed our towels every day! It also had a nice sized balcony with a table and chairs if you wanted to relax for an afternoon. Although there was building work opposite our room you heard hardly any noise, so it didn

The hotel was very clean at all times.
The food was great very wide choice every meal time
there were shops a 10 min walk from the hotel. The staff were very friendly all the time. Could not do enough for you.
Entertainment was a great laugh just what you want when you are on holiday. Bingo was ok you could win up to

It really has become a home from home and the permanent staff are brilliant and always genuinely pleased to see you returning to the hotel.
I've seen a couple of adverse reports from visitors earlier this year, in May but I suspect that, with the influx of new staff as the season takes off, it was more a case of teething problems than a fault with the hotel. I certainly had no complaints and I'll be booking the hotel again next year - in fact talking to other guests I'm going to have to be quick as many of them will be looking to return as well!!
The food was good, with plenty of choice, and service was excellent. The rooms were very clean, with daily maid service and there was a good range of things to do during the day with the animation team working hard. While I was there the stage for the evening entertainment was undergoing a major upgrade to help the team put on better evening shows.
Management are doing a great job and I regularly bumped into the assistant manager at meal times - food must be OK if management are eating in!
Location is great, only a few minutes from the restaurants, bars, etc in Coral Bay as well as being only a short bus ride (80 cents) from Paphos.
The hotel pool is simply huge and one of the best you'll find anywhere.
There's a little building work going on at the side of the hotel but it's unobtrusive and you won't even notice it - it certainly didn't bother the resident pair of Kestrels living way up on the roof - you'll see them perched up on the flagpole sometimes in the day.

My partner is one of the fussiest eaters ever however he was enjoying 3 meals a day and has put on 2lb!!!!
The pool is glorious and possibly the best pool you will ever encounter, plenty of sunbeds (although a few more parasols wouldn't come amiss).
The rooms are spacious and clean and a maid enters everyday for a quick tidy.
The entertainment was a bit rubbishy and a few people that we spoke to were under the impression it was deliberately poor so people would go elsewhere at night so not taking advantage of the free bar.
You will be glad to be all inclusive as we found Cyprus to be very expensive otherwise. Also pestered a bit by timeshare touts so beware.
All in all we would definetely recommend this hotel. Just a quick note, do not bother buying vip passes for the airport on your return. The reps will tell you that the queues are horrendous and that the passes will check you in double quick. We paid
