Was really worried about going to this hotel as our hotel was changed 1 week before we went and all the reviews where bad that I read, but had a fantastic holiday.

Food was great something for everyone even my 2 year old son. Staff who worked at the hotel where great and went out of there way to help if my son was still tired at breakfast they gave us fruit for latter and in the evening at dinner asked if we needed somthing like a childrens meal cooking, which was never necessery as choice on the buffett was extensive.

Evening entertaninment was ok and the entertainer employed by the hotel was great, organised activties during the day for both adults and child and even did the mini disco in evening for my son and another couples daughter that had ment to have finished the week before we arrived.

The hotels location was great right on the beach only a very small childern pool maybe a problem in high season and main pool has no shallow end but both pools were very clean.

Decor, in the hotel was very 70s but always clean and tidy my only complaint whould be about our hotel rep who we only saw the once at 9am the morning we arrrived as we had night flights. Asked about room noise and she informed me that some room where noisey but has to be stopped by 2am by Cyprus law. I commented on having a 3 year old and she shrugged and went. Luckily our room had very little noise apart from 1 night when a wedding was on at the next hotel.

If I returned to Cyprus again I would use this hotel but maybe not in high season as maybe cramped.

The location of the Hotel is excellent, on the beach and just yards to the pubs and restaurants. If you are travelling with children note that the pool DOES NOT have a shallow end. It's 5 feet deep all around. It's also quite small with not many beds available, although their is a lawned area in front of the beach. There is a small (very small) kiddies pool but it's next to useless.

Ensure that you are allocated a room towards the beach side, if not you will be kept awake by the music from the bars on the road side of the hotel.

Despite the efforts of the staff the entertainment at the hotel extremely poor. Nothing for kids at all.

My personal opinion is that I wouldn't use this hotel again.

We stayed in this hotel having only read reviews in mags and internet, we could only find 4 different pics of the hotel for reference. We were somewhat disappointed when we arrived at the quality of the hotel, the fixtures and fittings of the hotel and rooms were run down dispite the brouchure stating it had recently undergone an extensive refurbishment. The reception staff were very good but the pool bar staff are the opposite. Food was OK but not to a 4 star standard and a word of warning about the outside daytime buffet: do not go near it, the flies like it more than you will and you'll probably spend 3 toilet bound days regretting it.
Everything in your room you will have to pay for TV, fridge, tea and coffee facilities and the safe deposite box is in reception not in your room.
Our overall experience of the hotel was satisfied but only because of its location and not its facilities.
You will also be sharing the pool with anyone from the beach who cares to use it, there were many people paying for in town apartments and coming to the Vrisianna just to use the pool and sunbeds for the day.

We spent two weeks at the Vrissiana beach hotel. It was a really nice hotel, brilliant location, the rooms were basic, but clean and comfortable. The Pool area was slightly smaller than i had thought it would be, but still a nice size, there were plenty of sunbeds, however the ones round the pool were occupied quite early, but there are two gardens that lead onto the beach that have plenty of sunbeds (and a lovely view) There was an entertainment team, which when we left there was only a girl called Alex left, she did work really hard and there were plenty of activities to take part in every day if you wanted to. We were only bed and breakfast so i cant comment on every meal, but the breakfast was very good, a wide variety and good quality. The rooms were basic, the bathroom was clean and a decent size and the room was a nice size aswell, the balcony is a little small but sufficient. All in all it was a lovely hotel and i would recommend it to anyone.

We stayed at this hotel for a week on a half board basis, although the hotel is one of the oldest in Protaras it is nicely decorated and very clean. The food is served buffet style so you help yourself and there are various theme nights for the food, (greek night, italian night etc). The food was ok, though not great - this was probably the biggest dissapointment of the holiday in general. The hotel is very well situated right on the beach and centrally located for the bars and shops etc. The hotel staff and the people in general were fantastic, we were very suprised how friendly they were.

The entertainment in the hotel was very limited and was mainly a kids disco and a game of bingo, to be fair we only went once to the hotel bar, preffering to go out into Protaras. We also found the drinks prices in the hotel very expensive. (

On arriving our luggage was taken to our allocated room, which were clean and tidy. The views were ok looking over Protarus. We were a little dismayed to find no tea and coffee facilities [take a small kettle and some tea bags or take them from the restaraunt at breakfast.]

The position of the hotel is perfect go straight out of the hotel and into your first of many tavernas.

Food is served everywhere you go [never bother paying half or full board in cyprus its far cheaper, and a whole lot more fun to try different restaraunts]

Island Affair great for your last evening meal with a bottle of wine.

On the whole the hotel is fine, yes it is showing its age but is maturing gracefully.

On arrival during the early hours of the morning we were allocated our two rooms which we had requested to be next door or as near to each other as possible!!! not so, not even on the same floor - even though we had made this request upon booking 9 months earlier and then emailed the hotel direct on 2 occasions (when we booked and then 6 weeks before we arrived) The night duty manager suddenly developed quite poor english( perfect when we had checked in a few moments ago) so we had to wait until morning to sort out the rooms. Finally got rooms on the same floor 3 days later!

Try having a game of tennis on their tennis court!! we've got the pictures to prove that this hotel should not have been able to claim that they had tennis facilities (I notice from this years brochure that it doesn't advertise this facility anymore - shame about last year's brochure saying it did!!!) - it was a derelict piece of waste ground with the faint remains of court markings and a well past it's best net!!! To actually get into the court you had to jump down a sheer drop of 3 feet - we only went in there to take the photographs after seeing it from the outside - knowing then that our 2 lads had wasted their time packing their rackets.

When we tried to complain to the hotel manager he turned in to Paul Daniels (the magician) and done a long disappearing act - even when the receptionist gave us an appointment, he failed to turn up! We also complained to our rep who said he hadn't seen the tennis courts - no wonder as they were a 10 minute walk away and you wouldn't recognise them as being usable!!

We spent most days by the pool and for our drinks, snacks and ice-creams we used the poolside snackbar. After a few days it became evident that the very same round of drinks etc was varying considerably especially if a younger person went up. Ourselves and a few other families had began to notice this and we all decided to monitor our transactions. The results were shocking and we were soon able to narrow it down to one greedy individual - if we hadn't have spotted this early he could have costas a lot more money than it should have been! On the final day of our holiday I decided to let him know that we had all cottoned on to his scam - if you were there, I am the lady that held under his nose a
