Take a torch for night-time. Returning to the hotel at night is dangerous.

Get a ground room floor as it will help as there are no lifts to the other floors so it can be a bit of a walk with a pram.
Make sure on the strip you visit the Meze restaurant with the funny symbols in the name. It is one of the best Meze places in Protaras. Also Molti was a great restaurant to stay in.

Protaras is a lively resort with an excellent choice and standard of restaurants.
We aren't really into the Elvis impersonators but it was easy to avoid these bars and find somewhere nice to have a drink.

Nice place to eat out is 'China Town' right down the bottom end of the strip which is about a 15 min walk but well worth it and an italian which is left from the top of the road from our hotel.
Protaras also has a McDonalds, Pizza hut and a Kentucky fried chicken if you want to keep your kids happy!! Nice place to eat during the day is the 'Fools and Horses Bar' which obviously shows episodes of the great show. There is also a 'Cheers' and 'Friends' bar.
Protaras had great night life suitable for all! There are a lot of karaoke bars, Elvis, Kylie and Robbie impersonators. The best place we went was 'The Love Boat' right down the bottom of the strip, it was always packed and the bar staff were lovely. They had a great drag act on, so funny, and they also did a comedy hypnotist. If you dont want to go home when most places close, there are 2 clubs 'Boogies' and 'Q Club'. Boogies was better!
Overall, great resort for all ages! Beach is to die for, great choice of restaurants and bars, what more could you want?!

Blackpool in the sun but with superb restaurants. Not that I was too surprised as I had read reviews on here before booking, but I was disappointed to find no Greek feel at all with the exception of one or two restaurants.
However it suited my children and if they’re happy I’m happy.
The tourists were predominantly British and so were all the bars.
Entertainment in the bars was usually Karaoke until 10pm and then a tribute act.
We only saw one place with a proper live band and that was the Robin Hood bar. Best of the rest by far was the Love Boat, largely down to the MC who was a lad with a fantastic voice and skill at creating an atmosphere though I didn’t find his slightly racist jokes amusing.
Beaches
Fig Tree Bay seriously over rated. It’s small and in early June was so crowded you could hardly see a spot of sand. Far too many sunbeds right up to the water edge.
The other beach was much nicer and less crowded but rather a lot of litter. What do people think happens to the cigarette ends they drop in the sand?
Restaurants
I went armed with a list of recommendations from this and other review websites.
Equal favourites were the Nicholas and Anatolia. Both traditional and both with excellent service.
The Nicholas gave us hot pitta , Houmus and Tztsiki free of charge as we hadn’t ordered starters. They had a varied kids menu but were happy for the kids to choose a half portion from the main menu. The portions were huge with a variety of veg. Excellent Kleftico.
Anatolia was a little cheaper than the Nicholas and the food equally good. Their steaks were great.
Other than these two, we went to;
Red Indian – good ribs,
Promises- lovely views,
Diva (expensive and over rated)
Protomare – our worst meal and most expensive. Added to which they sneaked an extra payment off our credit card.
Mexican – went to the Mexican in Eden square and although we got a ropy bottle of House White (the only bad wine in 2 weeks), the food was brilliant. If you like Mexican I would recommend this one.

protaras is a very family friendly resort, we like the size of it and you feel safe here unlike in ayia napa. The big downside is the quality of the restaurants, if you like really good food there isnt that much choice. there is plenty for children to do and the bars are good.you are only 10 mins from ayia napa and paralimni and the water park.

The resort was very very clean. In most holiday resorts you have people chasing after you asking you if they can braid your hair or trying to get you to buy something but no one bothered you. The services above were avaliable on the pavements but their attitude was that if you want it done you would go to them. The entertaiment was really good aswell. There was always live entertaiment in most bars. And majority of the pubs were family orientated. If you have young children i reccommend you go to Porkys bar/restraunt as it has an outdoor activity area with bouncy castles etc... If you are with your partner or older children the best bars are The Love Boat and Bells Bar. If you are looking for a quiet drink somewhere like Robin Hood or StoneHenge is the place for you. The beach was lovely in most areas the sand was white and the sea was clear blue. Some areas were a little rocky but thats only a small section. We would definatley go to Protaras again.
