Take a torch for night-time. Returning to the hotel at night is dangerous.

Get a ground room floor as it will help as there are no lifts to the other floors so it can be a bit of a walk with a pram.
Make sure on the strip you visit the Meze restaurant with the funny symbols in the name. It is one of the best Meze places in Protaras. Also Molti was a great restaurant to stay in.

This is a modern resort that seems to have been established in the past decade. However, it has something for everyone.
The beach is lovely, and the council operated loungers and umbrella, at 7.5 Euros a day, where really needed in August. The beach has Blue Flag European status and is big enough for everyone. The water is especially inviting. For the more adventurous, there are water sports, parachutes, glass bottomed boats, everything for everyone.
The town centres along the 'Strip', the Hotel Rd which is everything but. It is full of shops, bars, and smashing restaurants selling plentiful food at decent prices. We ate at a different place each night, and all were great.
Just outside the main area is a large childrens playground with rides at a euro each. This will keep the little ones happy, as it did ours.
All in all, a great place and we would go back again

The resort is great, the hotel is right on the beach which is clean, the sea was great for swimming and snorkling. We paid 10 euros per adult and 5 euros per child to go on a boat trip for 2 and half hours which included sight seeing and stopping for a swim and some snorkling if you wanted. Would highly reccommend this trip good value for money and really enjoyable.
There is a good water sports center on the beach and a dive shop nearby.
You can walk to Protaras along the boardwalk however would reccommend you do this in the evening when it is a bit cooler!
The weather was brilliant every day, too hot at times!

The resort of Protaras is very good and very child friendly.
Plenty of restaurants to choose from with somthing to suite everyone, english, chinese, indian ( defo recomend Raj )mexican the list goes on.
The beach (Figg Tree Bay) is fantastic the only problem is when we go middle of August it is very busy especially as the locals are on holiday too.

Good choice of bars and restaurants for families. Not much for teenagers if they want to go clubbing but Ayia Napa not far in a taxi. Only 2 clubs in Protaras that we found. Teenagers went to Boogie nights and were not impressed.
Resort very clean. Beach in Pernera area very nice but a bit crowded. Sea very clean. The walk along the coast from Pernera is lovely - there is a proper path which is lit up at night. It goes to Rising Star aparthotel where you can walk into main resort.
The main strip is a bit tacky but very colourful and there are plenty of shops, bars etc for families with younger children up to about 10.
To eat out for family of 5 it was quite expensive - similar to UK if you want a proper meal but if you have snacks eg club sandwich, omelettes etc it makes it a bit cheaper. Alcohol a bit more expensive than UK.
Would go to the resort again but don't usually visit places more than once.
