Get a ground room floor as it will help as there are no lifts to the other floors so it can be a bit of a walk with a pram. Make sure on the strip you visit the Meze restaurant with the funny symbols in the name. It is one of the best Meze places in Protaras. Also Molti was a great restaurant to stay in.

blue flag beach right on your doorstep. just 10 steps down to figtree bay with its crystal clear waters with slightly pricey water sports.the resort itself is full of bars clubs and restaurants ranging from the cheap to the pricey so good choice for all.

the resort of paralimni is a quiet family resort located between pernera and protaras. the beach is a small shingle beach, but less than 5 minutes is a small sandy cove. there are numerous restaurants and bars close to the beach.
the seafront is spotlessly clean and is a very easy walk because most of it is laid with wood decking. we would visit this resort again.

Overall everyone in our group said they really enjoyed this resort.
All the adults who were in their 30's to 70's thought it was excellent and there was something for everyone, a wide range of restaurants, bars and shops although it was really expensive, some bars were charging 10 euros a cocktail so you had to be careful before buying. after a few days we learned which bars were cheaper.
Me and my boyfriend are 21 and 26 so after a few nights we were getting bored as we have no children and this is a very family based resort. We found one nightclub called boogies which was right near the hotel which was realy good but we couldnt go everynight so we went for a night out in Aiya napa which was about a 40 minut bus ride away. it was a realy good night but so expensive we could only go there once.

one night we went to the chinese with all the lights outside and it was the worst reataurant ive ever been to. it looked lovely from the outside and also nice inside but the food and service was horrible. there was 14 of us and we all got our meals at different times and my sweet n sour chicken was like burnt coal and my aunty had chicken chowmein with not 1 piece of chicken in it. we complained and eventualy got some money off the bill.
We went to the all you can eat mexican which was quite nice.
our fave bar was bells bar which done nice cheap cocktails.

been here the last 5 years lots of changes taken place new restuarants open and boutique style bars and of course now a no smoking ban in pubs and restaurants and from what we were told last year 2009 even outside bars within a certain distance you cant smoke some of the pavements starting to get a bit messy not with rubbish!some bricks missing etc but does not detract from the ambience of the resort

Never would return to Protaras. Lots of noisey motor bikes and youths just ruding in cars with the music loud.

The resort of Protaras is awash with bars restaurants supermarkets, lots of nice restaurants to suit everybodys pocket. Good bus service to Ayia Napa and surrounding areas and plenty of shops to look around. You must have a day on fig tree bay the sea is really lovely to swim in.

This resort is rather cheesy, all British and filled with karaoke bars. However it’s family friendly and while I wouldn’t choose it for just the two of us it fits the bill with older children.
Beaches
I think the beaches are very disappointing. Too many sunbeds, too crowded and full of litter.
Restaurants
We went to a different restaurant each night and didn’t have a bad meal.
I was here two years ago and prices have really gone up. You couldn’t get fillet steak for less than 18 euros.
We had just main courses plus the odd garlic bread. Wine, water and 2 large cokes and the bills were around 70 euros.
The Nicholas – large portions and a lovely “free” greek salad to start with but the most expensive meal of the week.
Red Indian – good ribs, good service, this was the favourite.
Mexican –the Mexican in Eden square was shut so we went to chi chi’s where the fajits were lovely.
Also the Basilico (Italian), Astoria and the Manderine.
The only one I wouldn’t recommend was the Alva hotel restaurant. We succumbed to a very forceful guy pulling in and were disappointed .

Water Park
Waterworld at Aya Napa is not to be missed. We took the local bus which costs 1.50e each and takes about 40 minutes.
The water park is beautifully laid out with a huge range of slides for all ages.It cost us 92 euros to get in, even using some discount tokens we were given.Children over 12 are counted as adults.
So good we went twice in a one week holiday.
I wouldn't go to Protaras again , mainly because we've been twice and I think anywhere loses the excitement if you go too many times.
