Get a ground room floor as it will help as there are no lifts to the other floors so it can be a bit of a walk with a pram. Make sure on the strip you visit the Meze restaurant with the funny symbols in the name. It is one of the best Meze places in Protaras. Also Molti was a great restaurant to stay in.

This was our 6th time we have been to Cyprus, the 4th time to Protarus, and deffinately not our last.
There is plenty of lovely Restraunts and taverns to choose from and they are all reasonably priced.
If you fancy a trip to Ayia Napa it is only about 20 minutes on the local bus and only costs 50 cents welll worth a visit.
My fvourite Restraunt is Anontonias the waiters there are brilliant.

Protaras is a fabulous part of Cyprus to visit, lots of great restaurants to eat out in. Slightly more expensive than other Greek islands maybe Cypriot pound/Euro. As others have said lots of kareoke bars, not my scene. We tended to go back to our hotel which was the Malama to have drinks after our evening meal.

Will be going back to Protaras in future years.

Since we went at the end of October it was a little too cold for us - our mistake. The main road with a choice of restaraunts/bars was only a 2 minute walk. There are a few nice Cypriot restaraunts, but the many appear to be "Brits Abroad" style - Fools and Horses Bar, Friends Bar, Karaoke Bar. Great if you want to eat the same as you might in Lewisham High St (No offence to those who might eat in Lewisham High St). A day trip to the water park is a must as you can get a local bus to drop you at the door (45min ride). I could not fault the Hotel, the only reason I would not return is because of the feeling of being back in England.

Protaras/Pernera is small and quiet but well developed it has bars etc and all the entertainment you need without having to travel to nearby Ayia Napa. All the usual tourist shops are there and food outlets cover burger bars to top of the range gourmet restaurants steaks and local dishes are especially weel catered for.
The area is great for touring by car with lots of small local villages to visit and have lunch etc
A perfect spot for couple or families in this beautiful friendly island.

Its a small village but has plenty of resturants and a few
bars which have some entertainment a few nights. Its a friendly village with a relaxed atmosphere. It also has a small beach but the nicer beach is at Fig Tree bay a short bus ride away.If you want it a bit more lively head into Protaras at night for more variety, the bus stops in the village every 10 mins or a taxi costs about 5pounds.Ilove
Cyprus and the village feel of Pernera makes your holiday that bit more special

Portaras is a lovely town it is quite lively but suitable for people who want a quiet holiday too. There is a wide choice of restaurants, some of which are excellent! The beach is nice and very clean although it can get crowded in high season.
