Location
This hotel is excellent and we would recommend it to anyone visiting El Gouna. Although not a five star like others in the resort, it has a standard of service from staff which would not go amiss in a high rating.
The hotel itself is set in a stunning location - our room on the 2nd flor looked out over the pool, beach and sea - great views of the kite surfers and yachts coming in and out. Very close by is the marina, which is a lovely place to wonder around in the evening with a good mix of shops, bars and restaurants.
The actual rooms were a good size with decent amenities, although the water pressure in the shower sometimes left a bit to be desired. The rooms were always cleaned to a high standard, as was the whole hotel, and the animal creations the cleaners created with the towels were excellent - kept our son amused for hours.
We were surprised by the food as this was our first time going all inclusive; normally eating out when abroad, but it was very good. There was a good variety every day, and something for everyone - it was also nice to see then not pandering to the British or any other nationality with a particular type of food. The Head Chef was great and often went and made a special lunch for our 5 year old son, if he got a bit picky. Although by the end of the holiday, we were a bit tired of buffet eating, this is not to detract from the quality of the food.
However, what set this hotel apart from others we have stayed in was the friendliness of the hotel staff, regardless of job. All of them went out of their way to be very friendly and it always felt geuine - we even made good friends with the rather burly security guards. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them, especially when it came to our son, who received a number of presents.
Even the Entertainment Team, who normally come in for some stick when reviewing hotels, were good - well they kept our son amused for two weeks - no mean feat!!
The only minor niggle was the lack of a decent beach to go swimming from - the hotel's beach was great for sunbathing, but offered little opportunity to swim as it was too shallow and next to the entrance to the Marina. However, the boat trips to get to the beach were good fun - although advertised at once every half hour, they ran much more frequently than that.
All in all, I would definately recommend this hotel all around, especially in relation to the location and staff. If you wish to visit a lovely resort, and stay in a four star hotel at a reasonable price, then you cannot go wrong.

The place was so clean ,food was varied and good ,catered for all.
The pools were a good size with plenty of space with a no reserve policy. Any towels left for more than an hour unattended were removed and had to be collected. The beach was lovely and so was the surrounding Marina.
We went on a couple of trips while we were there. One was the 1 day Luxor trip which was really interesting but a long day (4.45 - 23.30)but I would highly recommend it,and the Giftun Island trip, this was so relaxing and even got to see Dolphins swimming along side the boat.
The hotel also does a free boat trip around the marina a couple of times a week where they tell you all about the history of the place and which house belongs to which celeb. The hotel does a few free things like this including a free bike tour of El gouna.
The staff were great with all including the kids ,showing them loads of tricks to play on their friends back home.
The entertainment wasnt over the top which suits us as we prefer a relaxing holiday rather than a (wacky) one ,only down side was one person trying to turn it into some sort of singalong every evening which had everyone planning on how to gag her and getting away with it.
Or telling every member of staff that where they are going wrong is by not serving gravy at every meal time!!
I think she had got on the wrong flight.

Cleanliness however was ist class and it grew on us over the 2 weeks. The staff were the most friendly and helpful we have encountered anywhere.
The food was good on the whole and certainly much better than Cuba.
We always read reviews before we travel and realise that peoples views are going to be influenced by their previous experiences of world travel so are very subjective. This did seem very much a 3 star hotel if compared with 4 star ratings in say the carribean.
The staff actually won us over in the end. The rooms are basic, the shower very small but everything worked and when I requested 4 extra pillows they arrived within minutes. Nothing was too much trouble.
Most people had someone in their party who got diarrhoea---A tip --the first morning you are there go to the local paharmacy and buy Antinal-it is the local remedy and cost about 50p! At the first sign start taking it. People found that immodium doesn't work beacause it is a specific bacteria - one man was taken to hospital - so being prepared meant we only lost 2 days of the holiday.
I personally would hesitate bringing a small child as it is quite painful.

Although we were All Inclusive, we did eat dinner out 5 evenings out of 7! This is not a criticism of the hotel food, it's just that we personally can't quite face buffet meals three times a day for the duration of the holiday - for us it gets a bit repetitive. Also, it was lovely to walk around the Marina in the evening and browse restaurant menus etc to choose somewhere nice for dinner. The dine around arrangement certainly helps to keep the cost down!
The staff at the hotel were very friendly and attentive. We had a problem with our shower, which caused much confusion, but once clarified, was immediately fixed. We then got a visit from the Maintenance Manager to check all was OK. The one tiny downside was no bath, only a small shower cubicle, with poor water pressure. The entertainment that we did see was a bit naff, but that doesn't bother us as it's not a priority for our holiday. Their attitude to cleaning, we would say, verges on obsessive compulsive - polishing sun loungers and pathway lighting!
All in all, highly recommended, and we are quite fussy!

The hotel is right by the marina, and very beautiful. The beach is a short walk or boat ride away. Once you are there it is really peaceful. The trip we went on was excellent, and with the white sand, the clear sea, and hundreds of fish swimming around your feet, it was like being in the Caribbean.
We liked the fact that there was never any pressure to join in the activities - we went for a relaxing break, and thats exactly what we got. Love it and would love to go back.

The hotel is set in the most superb location overlooking the red sea and Abu Tig Marina. The staff at the hotel could not do enough for you.
The room was spacious and the the food selection was excellent, always hot and there was always plenty of it no matter what time you chose to eat.
The only downside was the main pool. People must have been up at 4 in the morning putting their towels on the longers (and the hotel was not full when we were there).
The other pool was by the 2nd building which was only about 100yards down the road and luckily you could still get a lounger at about 10.30am.
Failing that the beach was only a 40yard boat ride away and there was plenty of space on it all the time. There were some daytime activities if you wanted to join in with them but you were not pestered by the staff to do so.
Evening entertainment consisted of a solo singer, probably not enough to keep young children entertained but he was quite good and also amusing on occasions!
I have never visited a hotel in such a stunning location and it is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday.

The food was superb with plenty of variety and it certainly made a change to stay in a hotel that doesn't cater for the stereotypical 'brit on tour'. We enjoy trying local food and there was plenty to sample with different themes every night. You also have the option of eating in one of two local restaurants with credit towards your bill.
Every room has a sea/marina view and our room was of a more than comfortable size with air con and sat tv. The room was cleaned every day and maintained to the same high standards as the rest of the hotel.
Entertainment was basic but extremely funny most nights with different caberets layed on. I have to admit it wasn't ideal for children but this is mainly an adults only hotel. The team did an excellent job with the facilities available and didn't bother you if you were more interested in chilling out while soaking up the sun.
As for the hotel staff, I have never met such friendly peolple and they can't do enough for you. I only visited the bar several times all week as everything is brought to you without expecting a tip.
This is definately the place for you if your idea of the perfect holiday is to chillout. El Gouna still has plenty to offer though with numerous sophisticated bars, restaurants and boutiques.
The only disapoint was that to experince the wonders of the red sea you had to book a boat trip but this was easy enough with plenty of dive centres nearby. El Gouna isn't suitable for snorkeling although the beach is superb.
We would definately visit this hotel again I just wish I could award it 6 stars instead of five as I cannot praise it enough!!!

We expected to be eating the same meals a couple of times during our week long stay, but I can honestly say that, apart from the freshly cooked omelete for breakfast every morning, we had a different meal every day.
The location of this hotel is excellent, however you do not get a true sense of the real Egypt unless you venture out to Hurghada or further.
Everything was so clean and well presented.
The resort itself had everything you could possibly need if you want a relaxing weeks holiday, but it did appear to be extremely quiet.
We have no complaints at all, the staff were friendly and always willing to help. We were never hassled at all for a tip, but we did feel that the service was excellent and all the staff deserved to be rewarded.
Would we go there again?, for a quiet, relaxing break, probably yes! For a cultural experience, probably not, as we could have been anywhere in the Mediterranean.

I recommended my mum & her husband to go & they did so with their friends and agreed with us that it was a fantastic hotel in a fantastic setting. Not the best resort for snorkelling but you can go on trips if this is what you are looking for.
The staff are incredibly friendly & I must say I can't wait to go again and neither can my mum & her friends.
We went to the hotels lobby bar(in the next block) most nights where we were entertained by the animation team or a singer. It was nice & warm in there as it was very windy most nights.
We used the pool at the 2nd block & the service we received there was 2nd to none - try it you won't be disappointed.
