Booked this holiday day before, normally go abroad all inclusive, thought we'd give England an chance, never again.
Butlins itself had great facilities, plenty of entertainment and activities for all ages,(the football coach was absolutely fantastic). The staff were excellent.
We had two 2 bed apartments which were clean( except for the carpets) and enough facilities if you are self catering e.g cooker, microwave, toaster, even dishcloths, tea towels and washing up liquid!
The food outlets are really expensive, totally recommend half board as the food was very good, plenty of choice at breakfast and dinner, traditional English as well as curry, Chinese, salad bar, kids section, jacket potatoes as well as soft drinks, tea and coffee.
Now the bad bit 'the people'.
All most people seem to do is drink and let their kids run wild at all hours of the day and night. The air was blue with foul language (from the parents) if the kids disturbed their parents drinking time.
So overall I would say that Butlins provide a great holiday for families, its just a shame that most of the families there saw Butlins as a place to get drunk and let their kids ruin everyone else's holiday.

First time to a Butlins. Did a last min school holiday break. Monday until the Friday.
Check in time 4 but you can use all the camps entertainment.Nice welcome at the gate by the blue coats wishig us a pleasent holiday.
Food although a bit school dinners was plentiful and buffet style so you could help yourself to as much or little. You will not go hungry and the breakfasts are wonderful.
Drinks of tea, coffee and soft drink included at both meals. Very easy to find. Room very basic, ours was silver, felt a little like a goldfish bowl because people walk past your window all the time.
The staff were great very helpful. What really made this short break fun was the entertainment. Something going on all the time. Day time we spent in the waterworld, fun fair and out door pool all of which was free. Also played tenpin bowling and went to the cinema both on site.
In the evening it was non stop from shows to wrestling. Drinks a little expensive. Would I go back? Yes because for 5 days my son and I had a ball.
We did not leave the camp from the moment we arrived until midday on the day we left.
