Location
When darkness came they had failed entirely. We were unable to access our rooms because no light was provided and unable to choose food in the restaurant because the only light provided was some tealights on each table.
The general fabric of the building is well worn and does not deserve 4 stars.
The food is of a poor quality and standard, the staff do the best they can with the ingredients they are given. The staff are very polite and very efficient it is a pity the food can not reach the same high standard.
I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone that is not 100% fit as there are a lot of steps to negotiate because the lifts do not reach all levels. You cannot access the pool area without descending and again climbing on your return 3 flights of steps which are very slippery when wet, a man had a serious fall while we were there and had to have his ankle put in plaster.
To walk to the village or beach would be very difficult for some people.
Most of the staff were polite and friendly but the staff on reception were rude and officious.
The entertainment during the day and in the evening seemed to please most people, the Thomson animation staff worked hard to amuse everybody.

Hotel cleanliness was ok, our rooms were cleaned everyday although I am unsure as to how often the sheets and towels were changed.
The location of the hotel is pretty poor and you have to be reasonably fit to climb the many stairs and the steep hills, not good for elderly people.
The daily and evening entertainment was awful. The same band coming on stage every night twice a night and this not ending until gone 11:00 at night. The hotel is definately not aimed at younger people (although the brochure states 16+ I was the youngest person there at the age of 22)!!! I found the Thomson staff to be quite rude and unhelpful also and the trips offered very poor. Mainly aimed at couples and older people. They didn't seem to want to help at all.
I wouldn't go to this resort or this hotel again.

The food was all that you can expect of a four star hotel, with a wide variety of local, international and British dishes, including vegetarian options. There was a short description of each dish, colour coded to show whether it was local, international, chef's special or veggie. The catering staff were friendly and willing to answer questions - most spoke good English, and love it when we tried to speak Greek to them (leading to much laughter)!
Our room was spacious and well appointed with a wonderful sea view. The air conditioning in the room was more than adequate, and can be left on when you are not in - and even when the balcony door is open! That meant we had no mozzies in the room at all.
The pool was fabulous. More than enough sun-loungers, with a sensible restriction on reserving them for hours and then not turning up. It was great to have no arguments at all at pool-side.
The reception staff were friendly and informative, and unlike in many hotels they are approachable at all times. Being Thompson Gold, the rep service is excellent.
You can walk to the village a half-mile or so away by road, or go down to the beach and use the board walk, thus avoiding traffic.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who is prepared for the steps to the beach.

The location is fabulous, we had a garden room (M)& the view was fantastic. Tthe slight hill meant you had to remember everything for the pool area though!!
The only drawback for these rooms is the lack of tea/coffee making facilities but otherwise they are ideal as they are quiet & peaceful so that if you want a drink on your balcony it was perfect (a good size fridge was supplied in our room). The food was okay but the A La Carte restaurant was lovely.
The staff were helpful & the Thomson reps were great (very friendly & very entertaining) The entertainment was also very good, something for everyone. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The beach walk is superb (& good excercise once you get down all those steps) My perfect holiday.

The staff were friendly and respectful to the guests. Rooms were clean with 2 double beds. There was a hair drier in the drawer which meant you could use it anywhere.
The thomson gold staff put on a great show every night and were always pleasant. There were plenty sun beds if you wanted one.
To anyone going, it is a 20 min walk to the village by the road and is not suitable for persons with difficulty walking.
Even going by the beach might present a problem as there are stairs to get down first. Every room in ths hotel has a sea view.
We were on level 2 and we had a good lookout on to the beach.
All in we had a lovely time at the Agois Gordios.

We found the food not up to expectations, drinks at the bar were expensive. So we went out found a nice bar, Stevens. on the hill, great staff made us very welcome.
We paid extra for a superior room and all we got was a kettle fruit & bathrobes which you don't really need in 90 degree heat. Found the trips from hotel expensive.
Beach & sea lovely.
Views from room excellent.
Demetrius sees to your needs on the beach 9 euros a day for two beds & an umbrella.
Wouldn't advise taking teenagers as there's no bars with music, very little choice.
Will not return again, as we came back dissapointed.

Pleasant pool area more than enough sun beds, as with all Thomson Gold hotels towels for the pool and beach are supplied for a small refundable fee.
Good food, as much as you can eat, a-la-carte eating once a week in a separate restaurant Al fresco for all meals if you choose to do so.
The only hiccup for us was on two consecutive Mondays there was no hot water for an early morning shower.
Entertainment was good, ex television stars flown out from the U.K.

The views from the hotel are stunning. Drinks are expensive and suggest a visit to the mad greek taverna! Sharon & Mike are great & well worth a visit.
Don't use the hotel bus it cost 12 euro return to Corfu town! Bus stop next to "Georges Gee Bees shop" only cost 3 euro each and good service. Overall opinion was we really enjoyed it. Excellent entertainment, very hilly and not for those with trouble walking . Lovely friedly people and a beautiful island . Give a go and enjoy whats on offer.
Would suggest also if you are there for two weeks, get a hire car, crazy drivers but the experience of seeing the true Corfu cannot be missed. In our last week the numbers rose and the pool side area became very busy so don't be disapointed if you miss out on the sun beds, the beach is nice. My advice is don't go out to pick faults with the hotel, it is old and slightly unkept in places but go and enjoy and unwind because you can here! i'm really glad we went.Well done Jenny and here team you were great!!!!
