I know from the ratings I have given may make the resort sound terrible, but it isn't. The resort was clean, the resort entertainment was non existant, but if this is what you want then that is perfect, the beach wasn't great, but you could freely find sunbeds to sun bathe on, and our son loved throwing the stones in the sea, instead of making sand castles, so it wasn't too bad, for us.
There isn't much more to say about the resort itself, but if you like to shop, Corfu town is the place. Don't bother with the bus, it either never turns up or is full and drives on past, but if you stand at the bus stop, as though waiting for a bus, within 15 minutes max, a taxi will stop and try to ask 20-30 euros to Corfu Town, offer him 15 euros and he will more than likely take it. 15 euros is about £12 so this sounds a lot, but the drive to Corfu Town is about 1/2 hour so not so bad. The town is great, for the real bargains, find the little old fashioned streets riddled with shops they are fantastic and barter for everything, especially if you are buying more than one thing from the same shop, and for those of you that are as hooked as my son, there is a McDonalds in the town as well! Also if you have kids, they will love it, because for those of you, who haven't already been to Greece, they love children, and you can guarentee every shop you go in will hand the kids a sweet or two! One shop owner even had our son sat at the till being the 'boss'!

resort is not to bad nice views, but you have to get taxi's every where, because the food was so bad at the san stefano.

The beach is a shingle beach, but you are told of this in the brochure, no local shops, but not far away, the location is ideal for a relaxing holiday.

Benitses is a fairly laid back resort after the hedonism of the 70,s/80,s. The best time to go would be high season as this is when the resort will be at its most exciting. Although I think it would still be fairly reserved i.e. no yobs! A pleasant resort but no great shakes!
