We found this hotel fairly clean, the maid was a whiz, have never seen anyone clean a room so fast but she did an excellent job. The food was o.k for the first few days but it got very repetitive and was poor compared to other all inclusive holidays we have been on in the past. O.k if you like liver and meatballs. Breakfast was probably the best meal, the drink was plentiful and the kids could have as much icecream as they wanted and it was Carte Dor.

Some of the hotel staff were offish but some were o.k. Our Thompson rep was useless, had no knowledge of the island and just wanted to flog us the trips which were extremely overpriced.

The animation team were great, on the go all day and in the evenings to. Were a little disappointed with the evening entertainment as apart from Billy and his Karaoke and some greek dancers once a week it was down to the animation team to entertain! Lets just say they did their best!

Shame about the food, because of the large pool and beautiful beach would visit the hotel again.

This hotel disappointed! It was clean and the maid service very good. However the location, poor menu, limited entertainment and facilities let it down. The cot provided was disgusting and never used.

The rep was not much help.

Very difficult to entertain infants at this hotel. Stairs are plentiful and the lift does not service pool level - not much fun with 2 pushcahirs!

Had a problem with security - patio doors did not lock on the ground level room we were in and kids could easily escape so check all the locks!!!

Food:
the evening meal; well i dont really like greek food there was a couple of nights where the meal was nice but it was always cold the lay out was nice though with the white cloths and glasses looking over the beach at the sunset.
The salad bar was nice and also the soup was too.
For the kids they had chips burgers pasta etc. which they enjoyed.
For lunch they did like a barbecue sort of thing like with salad bits which was ok ,also beware of the wasps i have never seen so many they swarm around you at lunch my daughter got stung 4 times!
Breakfast was nice fruit crosants cereals the english breakfast wasnt that great

Rooms:
Standard twin rooms were diabolical! we started off in one of these and they are dirty and unsafe for children.
We had wires hanging out the wall a gap at the bottom of our balcony big enough for a young child to climb through( our son was crawling at the time) and my sons cot was disgusting it was a travel cot thing with visabal dirt on the inside of it and holes in the mesh
We complain to the rep got moved to a

Family rooms they were nice rooms this one had tiled bathroom clean beds ,solid wood cot and were on the ground floor 10 X better than standard .

location:
Miles away from anything! they had a couple of basic shops near by but thats it
but theres a free bus every hour.

Beach:
Not very big, dirty though loads of cigarettes between your toes! clean sea though, well i think!!

Pool:
It looked clean id had seen someone clean it but i had heard a few things about it.
Toddler pool was great you could watch your kids quite happily splahing about.

Staff:
hotel reception were horrible and rude .
Some of the waiters were rude too.
Rep was brilliant! he even sat at nights and had a drink and a laugh with us to ask us if everything was ok!
Animation team couldnt work hard enough and loved the kids.
Bar staff were miserable too .

Kids club:
People that run it was good but the equipment they used was poor

Evening entertainment:
You had a choice of a piano bar or
the entertainment outside which had a kids disco first then the animation team done there little thing like get people up on stage and make them do silly things and act out musicals ie: greece, rocky horror picture show

4* rating no it was not maybie a 3*

Value for money :
no not really

Having stayed at this hotel several times over the past 10 years, I can confirm that it used to be better before it was taken over by the 'louis' group. It is not as clean as it used to be & this is very noticeable after the maid service each day. Other changes include cutting down on some of the limited entertainment & the attitude of the new staff & management at the hotel reception.

However it is still a good place for a beach holiday. Clean water & beach & the nice scenary make up to some extent for the problems above. Here is my advice to anyone going there this year or next:

Ignore the un-helpful reception staff & hotel management. Raise any problems with your rep.

Go with Thompson as the all-inclusive deal is very good value for money.

Best time to go is June or September when the hotel & the beach are not as busy as July & August.

Don't just stick to the pool, try the sea water it is clean & there are far more sunbeds available on the beach than around the pool.

Try & get one of the newly re-furbished rooms.

Having stayed in Corfu before, we were VERY disappointed with this hotel. The hotel (or was it Thomson) failed to honour our balcony/sea view supplement and gave us a room on the ground floor that had a line of trees totally obscuring any view. Only after mucg argument did they concede that we had been 'had'.

The ground floor (where the family rooms are) are hard tiled and the noise from the corridors is diabolical - I stay in hotels all around the world on business and this is the noisiest hotel that I have ever stayed in. All noise echoes down the corridors in an amplified state, and a door closing at the other end can sound like an explosion. How they can say that these are family rooms (when you're trying to get infants to sleep) is extremely questionable.

The entertainment area is still not built (as at June 02) - despite the brochure adverts, and I hope anyone going is happy to put up with workmen working on the site (50 feet away from poolside) until (sometimes) 9pm at night. Children have to walk past this building site area to get to the play area, and half the games room was partitioned off for the building work.

On the last two days of our stay we had cockroaches in the room (crawling out the air-con system - video and photo proof available to anyone who wants it). All the hotel did was try to keep me quiet at reception, and spray an insecticide around which didn't cure the cause - they came back the next day.

Beach is quite clean, but there is a sewer waste pipe that extends into the sea some way off, so just hope that the current isn't playing up that day. We spoke to other residents who wouldn't let their kids in the sea.

Swimming pool needs a MAJOR service, there are very sharp slats around the edge which take the skin off your toes, and one of the poolside filter covers on the children's pool is made from a VERY slippery plastic-type material, and proved quite dangerous. Not enough sunbeds for guests, so set the usual 7am alarm calls to bagsee your sunbeds for the day - pool staff did NOT remove towels from unoccupied beds after 10am, as I have seen some other sensible places do, (the Krauts do have a tendency to grab the beds, go to town for the morning, come back, have lunch, and then finally use their 'reserved' sunbed).

Lifts were regularly out of order and don't count on getting a porter to help move your heavy cases unless you phone reception about an hour in advance or ask three times - same for taxi requests.

Steps throughout the grounds made it difficult for pushchairs - it is certainly NOT such the 'family hotel' that the brochure makes out.

Food selection gets very boring and repetitive, especially if you're there for more than one week. Entertainment team tried their best, but again, a bit repetitive and not very varied. Lunch tended to be food from previous evening recycled into various 'interesting' salads.

Only useful thing was the bus to town and Aqualand - really needed, as the hotel is in a remote bottom of cliff location, so transport is a must.

Overall, extremely disappointed and, unfortunately, may now have to be referred legally and BBC Watchdog as Thomson are offering a pitiful level of compensation.

If you want to go to Corfu, then I recommend the Grecotel Imperial at Kommeno - far superior and none of the problems of this place.
