Gouvia was a very pleasant resort. In the shops the people were very polite and the people working in the bars were also very friendly and made us all feel welcome. Some bars sold t-shirts which so many people were wearing around the pool. We love the idea-theyre great reminders of Gouvia. The drinks were very reasonably priced in all the bars and clubs we visited also.
I did not visit the beach very much but did do the water soprts a couple of times which were amazing and great fun-i would definitly recommend them!

The resort of Gouvia is only 5 mins walk from the Govio Bay Appartments. Gouvia is a strip of restaraunts and bars and has variouse different restaurants and shops.
The road down the strip should be shut of off an evening as the road is very narrow and the paths are practically none existing and it is quite busy with cycles and cars.
We went to the bar Irish Knights on most evenings as the entertainment and welcome was second to none they were very friendly and a good night was guaranteed by all.
The elvis tribute was very good and this was put on twice a week this is a must to visit.

The resort is great. The beach is cobble but if you get a cab and go to one of the other beaches not far away you'll find a field just beside the beach were you can lie and sunbathe.
We went to a bar called Irish Knights just 3 doors away from our hotel which wasn't too bad. Just down the strip a bar called Melodies serves one off the best English breakfasts on the island.
The entertainment in the town is good Elvis was on a few nights in different bars. Music sounded out of every bar and most bars showed sport all day long.
A bit off a walk from our hotel we found a place called the lagoon which was great to sit and sunbathe or swim in the clean blue pool. This closed at six o'clock every day so enjoy it while you can.
Some off the bars along the strip showed films for the kids each day and through the night. Sammy’s was a nice place to enjoy a film and a drink while across the way a Greek taverna gave you a taste of Greek dancing and real Greek food. T
he resort I would recommend highly. Take a trip to Corfu town but don't go on Saturday because everywhere closes.
Don't forget to try out the discount store at the top of the town

In the resort there is plenty to do, especially of an evening where you are spoilt for choice of bars and also discos to revel in after the sun goes down, where happy hour goes on until dawn! However there is also plenty to keep you occupied during the day, whether it is browsing around the shops or doing some of the various watersports on the great beaches. This is a resort which i would definitely visit again!

There are a few fairly small narrow beaches. They are clean and there are plenty of watersports available. Gouvia is in a bay so there is no current in the sea but it does get deep quite quickly for little ones.
The resort has loads of bars and tavernas from traditional greek to chinese, indian and mexican. Easy to find somewhere different to eat every night.
Plenty of shops and supermarkets.
We would definitely visit this resort again.

The resort is quite small but with plenty restaurants for the fortnight to choose from.
Anything from Greek to Chinese is available and all at very reasonable prices. The beach isn't that good but we are not beach bums so it didn't bother us.
You can hire a boat and sail around the bay for a reasonable cost and there are buses to nearby Ipsos and Dassia which is worth a trip. There is a brilliant water park 10 minutes away and Corfu town is a fantastic place to visit both day and night.
All in all we all loved corfu and would definately go back again.

The resort has plenty to see and do with lots of restaurants supermarkets etc. As I've said I would recommend not swimming in the sea at the resort.quite a few restaurants provide theie own entertainment.

Couldnt really say much about the resort as i didnt go very far, due to excellant hotel beach facilities and evening meal. Usual few bars with TV, but not too many "english" bars. My husband did a lot of walking but not a very big resort and couldnt see much to do. Not many shops either if you like to spend money! Taxi to Corfu town £10 each way, but the bus if you want to cath it only 80p return.

I dont think we ever saw a scrap of litter which was a refreshing change. The animation team worked hard but miss the old team from 2003.
The only thing that got on nerves were the stray Dogs that came on the beach, point being that there are families with young children. We will be back.

Gouvia is a ideal family resort with excellent amenities including over 50 bars and restaurants, some with there own entertainment. Shingled beach with lovely clean water and plenty of water sports.resort was very clean plenty of shops, local lagoon very good to spend a day out. we loved it that much we have already booked for next year at the same appartments.
