Do not ask the co-owner Dimitris for a good room, you will probably get the same response as I did.
Try any other hotel or restaurant, there are plenty in the area

The resort itself is surrounded on three sides by steep hills and in summer are really only suitable for the fittest.
Unless you are prepared to hire a scooter or car or take excursions there is little to see and do,the main activity being relaxing by the pool or beach and going to tavernas and bars. The resort seems most popular with older couples or the family bucket and spade types.
The resort is very much geared to the British holidaymaker, it has about 16 Tavernas, 10 bars 4 supermarkets but hardly any quality or craft shops to divert you.
The locals are very nice and have a great sense of customer service in makingyou feel appreciated for spending your time there.
The tavernas cater for all tastes from touristy Greek to Med fusion our favourites were Beachcomber, Mythica, Ozzie Oils and Manthos. Some have "traditional" dancing none have live traditional or contemporary Greek music and the bars rely on UK pub acts and happy hours.
San Stefanos certainly has it's share of devotee's who are fiercely protective of it, however I personally wouldnt go back, it was nice enough, we had a good holiday but the diminishing Greek authenticity and the increasing anglocentricity spoilt it for us.If I did return it would be in spring with a hired car to explore the west coast

We really loved San Stefanos as it is quite small but there are plenty of tavernas to choose from and also although it was early in the season a few places with entertainment. We tried a few tavernas and didnt have a bad meal but our favourites were Olympic and Barras. We thought the beach area was superb and we would definitely return. Also some scenic walks for those who enjoy walking.

The resort is not big but has everything you need from typical greek restaurants to English bars. The beach is really nice and does not get too busy (we stayed first week of sept)

San Stefanos is a great resort for couples and families. There are many bars and restuarants all of which are welcoming and serve great food. The beach is excellent and the option to use any of the hotel pools in the resort is a bonus. Will definately return again.

Very quiet and not spoilt but over building. The whole resort was clean with no rubbish about, had lots of Tavernas and bars for you to relax in. The beach was clean and the views were amazing

The resort is clean, apart from the odd bit of rubbish the tourists leave. The entertainment is based on traditional greek values. Excellent taverna`s serving great food and great wine ( also iced cold beer ) The beach is extremely safe and very family friendly. The greek dancing is very entertaining.

san stefanos great resort for families, we have booked again for 2010, children enjoy it. My daughter is in love with the waiter at Zorbas. Not too busy and enough to keep you entertained.Enjoy the entertainment at condor bar. Nice quiet beach if you walk a bit to the right of the beach bar, which offers good value food for lunch. Try the olive press for excellent food, and large portions.
