Agius is called the St Tropez of Crete and is a pretty harbour with cafes surrounding a deep lake. There are many shops and restaurants. I believe there are clubs but I am too old for Boob tubes etc !! There are many trips available out of the harbour.

Ag Nik is a beatiful resort, with plenty of bars and nightlife, but tastful, not tacky at all. Plenty of shops and a few boat trips to go on. we went on the glass bottom boat and it was well worth the money. there is no beach as such opposite the hotel but a municipal one a short walk away. All the locals couldnt have been nicer.

Ag Nik is a beuatiful place, the lake area in particular is very pretty. There are some wonderful restaurants (would recommend du Lac and La Strada in particular) and some nice tavernas further round towards the marina (Trata). The streets are bustling in the evening, a wide range of bars, very nice place for families and singles/couples alike.

The resort of Ag Nic is wonderful, it is very cosmoplitan in the buildings and its layout, there are numerous cafes and tavernas to visit in the evening and some outstanding bars. Sorrento's is the best and

Despite the hotel's excellent location, we thought
"Ag Nik" was disappointing. There were plentiful restaurants but none which took our fancy (Doesn't mean they were all bad, just that we were disappointed with the apparent choice) Ag Nik has a lovely "lake" behind the harbour. Typically touristy but nice atmosphere. The shops are mainly identical souvenir shops selling the same touristy "trinkets".. (Was going to say "rubbish" but its in the eye of the beholder).... Wouldn't rush back to Ag Nik but which is shame given the hotel and its specific location....

This resort I found to be very clean, and there are plenty of very good resturants to eat in and it does not cost a fortune to eat out, plenty to go and see and some good boat trips, go rent a car Crete is a fantastic place to look around.

Aghios Nikolaos is a brilliant holiday resort with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops situated around the lake and harbour. We had some of the most relaxing chill out momments sitting by the lake having a drink or two of an evening and made friends with the welcomming locals.
Due to the out of town location of our apartments we used Havania beech which is a small sandy beech between Aghios and Elounda, however it does have a very rocky shore line
We can highly recommend a boat trip to Spinalonga to see the remains of the old leper colony and its' facinating history.
We had such a memorable holiday we intend to return soon

I have clicked yes to the question "Would you visit this resort again" But that would have to be a day visit. Its a very beautiful town and a must see if you are staying in Stalis or Malia but I would not recommend it as a beach holiday destination. Spinalonga (The leper colony) is a great day out by the way!

We were actually inbetween two resorts in the middle of nowhere. Half way between Agios Nikolaos and Elounda. We visted both places and they are beautiful. Would definately return to the area.

The entertainment was by a group of multinationals and they tried very hard to entertain everyone. During the day there was a full program for children and adults, this carried through into the early evening, with presentations to the winning contestants, OK if you like to join in the fun.
Most nights there was a proffessional show followed by a disco, all in all I have seen worse.
The main hotel is where all the activity takes place, the pool area is always clean and we could always find a sunbed.
The private beach is reached again by steps or a steep incline, once down there, there are various activities, pedaloes, canoes, skijets ect.
The beach also as a cool oasis were a small bar waits for you. the beach and the sea were both very clean.
We very seldom make return trips to hotels but I could make an exception for the Mirabello!
