Although over all an enjoyable holiday. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to another family group.
The food was very basic, not offering a lot of variety, especially for the younger holiday makers, most families tended to eat out because not a lot was available for children tastes, thus making an all inclusive holiday pointless as money was being spent on feeding the kids.
I would have thought at least the option of some toast would be available at breakfast.
The hotel was very clean, and our maid in particular worked very hard. The pool area was swept and cleaned most days as was the bar.
The location of the hotel is between Hersonissos and Stalis, both were a good half an hour walk away. The local beach was excellent just across the busy main road (reachable through a tunnel under the road).
Most of the staff at the hotel Mediterraneo were very friendly. But one in particular seemed to look upon the children staying at hotel as a major inconvenience and was very abrupt and grumpy towards them. My youngest son (aged 10) didnt realise that the all inclusive had finished (they take the bands off at 12 noon), and helped himself to a glass of 7UP, only to be told by the guy, that he wasnt entitled to 7UP only water, leaving the full glass of 7UP on the bar, couldnt really see the point in not letting him have it.
The entertainment was none existant. Most people just sat around playing cards of an evening.
I think to improve this hotel, the management would need to adopt a less penny pinching approach. Maybe invest in some entertainment and make the food more acceptable to all nationalities.
My family will not be going there again, and would not recommend it to anybody else. No way was it 4 ****.

We just came back from Crete and Mediterraneo hotel. Its true that there is not much entertainment there but the quality of the food is excellent, the rooms are great and they all have great sea view and beautiful balconies. We had nice and relaxing holiday. A true "value for money".

This hotel does not deserve the 4 stars. This is a maximum 2 stars hotel.

It's dirty, the personel are rude.

They do cleaning without any kind of chemicals!!!

People, it's a dangerous place for your health.

I could read the yesterday's menu from the dishes.

And surprise... the hotel is not in Herssonissos. It's located 1 km from the city and you have to walk on the highway then walk through a tunnel to get to the beach.

I was lucky I travelled by car!!! Don't go there!!! Never!!!

Certainly will visit again, we've had the time of our lives in Hersonissos. Very nice hotel, rooms weren't big but clean and with good airco, nice swimming pool, all-inclusive was very good, nice drinks (rakiiiiiiiiiii) and the food wasn't the best, but anyway: this hotel really rules!

The Medeterraneo Hotel was absolutely spotless with great views over the pool or sea. The only downfall of this hotel was the food - very greek not much english food or food for children and they don't even serve toast at breakfast! The only sprits you can have on the All Inclusive are Raki, Ouzo and Brandy, wine beer and soft drinks - no vodka, bacardi etc you have to pay extra for these. On the good side though we could always get a sunbed and we had fresh towels every day. Also we had to pay 6 euros a day for air con and 10 euros for the fridge that we thought should have come with the AI deal. Also the entertainment is none existant, just a CD playing. Unfortunately I don't think we would come back to this hotel in a hurry.

This was the first time we had ever stayed at an all inclusive hotel and didn't really know what to expect.
The hotel was very clean, good size rooms with excellent sea views. Food was very cheap, basic and repetative. All inclusive drinks were from 11am to 11pm, this could of gone on much later. On reading details about the Mediterraneo Hotel they stated new hotel with only 145 rooms, but there were over 400 rooms! If everybody had stayed around hotel this would of been a nightmare. The hotel was 10 minutes walk to the beach where you could hire sunbeds etc, very quite and secluded. The main town was about 30 min walk. All things being equal we enjoyed our stay and would return.

This hotel is situated in a beautiful position, but probably not suitable for disabled people unless you travel by hire car or taxi. The hotel is very clean and has the makings of a super holiday with more input from the management,to perhaps provide some entertainment. The only enterntainment we had was a DJ who played songs from the fifties!! (1 night out of 7!)Food is very poor, caters more for Germans and Russians. We felt this should be a 3 star due to lack of services and limited choice of drinks, and nothing for the children really except for the pool and computer games (which you have to pay for).First all inc holiday out of 7 previous hols, where I would not go back.

having just returned home from our first all inclusive holiday my feeling is its a total rip off. drinks are only local produce and its like paint stripper. food is great if you are german or dutch but don,t expect an english or even a scottish breakfast eg no bacon, toast, etc. no entertainment except one night we had a rather pathetic attempt at a disco a 50 year old greek who could only say hello and dance in english. brochure claims its only 800 mtr from town but its at least 30min walk and most of the way its a dirt track with crazy scooter and quad bike drivers to dodge. my advice don,t go here go to usa its miles better
