Enjoying a beautiful secluded position surrounded by pine trees and just a short walk from the sandy beach. Set in spacious, decorative gardens, with plenty of activities on offer, families can enjoy a typically Greek holiday here.

We have just returned from Chrousso Village and all had a lovely time.

The transfer from the airport is about 2 hours due to four other drop offs. Chrousso is beautiful, its not too big and the children were safe.

Room was very clean with a large balcony over looking the pool. We did hear others complain about size but hey you only sleep in them and we did not have a problem.

Food was fine and my children always found something to eat, again we heard others complain but your in Greece if you want burger king or Mcdonalds stay in the UK.

The only thing we did not enjoy was the weekly BBQ due to the meat being raw, so on the second week we ate out.

Kids Club - My 5 and 8 year old loved this and always had plenty to do, nothing for our 11 year old though and he did become bored during the second week.

Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Entertainment was poor but this did not stop us having a laugh with the friends we met.

Beach was a 10 min walk away but well worth it, very clean and water clear.

Advise parents to buy swim shoes for the pool as the bottom appeared sharp and lots of children suffered cuts to their feet.

Wasps were also not a problem, if you ignore them they go away.

Whilst there we did hear people complaining about silly things and the rep even said the Brits are the worst for complaining.

We had a lovely holiday and did not want to return home, the only reason we would not return would be the lack of entertainment for any children 9 or over.

Just come back from this hotel and had the worst holiday ever.

The rooms were dark and tatty needs painting and new towels would help.

The food was horrendous. We know it was towards the end of the season but it was awful. Fish fingers every meal for the kids pork belly draft on the menu in different forms we had mashed potatoes 4 times in the fortnight so runny it was like soup. Fruit was either melon or grapes only one thing at one time. The snack bar was the left over food from earlier.

Entertainment was none existent kids disco and there was bingo one night. The Greek dancers were advertised but never appeared. Barbeque once a week Pork belly draft on the menu again.

We love Greece and often go once a year but this was really poor we ended up hiring a car so as we could get decent food.

Pool area was nice but loads of wasps. Very disappointed indeed.

Found the staff friendly did not smile much but perhaps they had to eat the food also.

We arrived in the early hours of the morning and was greeted with our keys and bottled water.
The rooms were a good size and very clean. The maids visited the room each day to make the beds and changed the towels every other day. We were given a fan for our room free of charge and the staff were always very helpful.

As the hotel was a bit out of the way they had a mini bus that would take you to the nearest towns. It went about 4 times a day. They would drop you off and pick you up around three hours later (which was enough time to look around the shops and have something to eat)

The pool area was nice and there always seemed to be enough sunbeds. The beach was about a 5-10 minute walk but well worth it. I would advise you to take your own drinks though as it's a bit pricey.

The food was nice but a bit repetitive and there wasn't too much entertainment in the evenings but Other than that it was a really nice place and I would visit again.

The coach transfer is about 2 hours 45 minutes to Hotel. First Choice reps worked very hard and gave good accurate account of the local area and facilities. In fact, throughout the two weeks there was always reps around to talk to if needed or to arrange car hire etc. Childrens Club every day and our 5 year old really enjoyed this.

The hotel reception was excellent and very polite and happy to arrange advice on local transport, and entertainment.

Tennis, Table Tennis, Football, Volleyball, Swimming and lots of walks made this a brilliant holiday for us. The children were always occupied and we were all very sorry to leave after 14 nights. The place is very friendly, there is good food for all ages, the bar is excellent (especially the cocktails!).

Our room did not have air conditioning (not many do) but the reception delivered a large fan which helped. For a family of five, there was plenty of space in the room, and beautiful views from the balcony. Cleaners came every day which was much appreciated.

Because the resort is so green and well watered and maintained, there were lots of wasps. The wasps were mainly around the grass and flowers but if I am lucky enough to visit again, then I will certainly take some repellant spray along.

Evening entertainment was basically relaxing after dinner in the bar area, apart from the Greek dancing night, which was excellent. The restaurant manager deserves a special mention for running such a well organised restaurant, and even making the waiters and cooks do the traditional dances once a week.

This holiday was most definitely value for money and if you like quiet resorts away from the hustle and bustle then this is the place for you.

Food was fairly good and catered for everyone apart from breakfast and the so-called snack bar which we thought was horrendous. They did have a barbecue outside once a week which was a nice change but you had to make sure the food was cooked inside as ours was always pink.

Our apartment was very good and big enough for a family of 4 and the maids did an excellent job cleaning it every day.

Drinks were plentiful with no queueing at the bar even in high season and the 'cocktail of the day' was always good. We did have a Baileys one day and found it to be really expensive so stick to the locally produced drinks.

Entertainment was usually a mini disco for the smaller children followed by a quiz which lasted all but an hour or so. They did have Greek dancing once a week which was fun as everyone is expected to get up and join in. There is a kid's club but if you had children over 8 like mine they wasn't allowed in. There is a huge bouncy castle on the complex which my two loved and two small playgrounds.

There are two pools the larger one was always busy and looked a bit grubby. The smaller one was much quieter but be careful the bottom of the pool was dangerous like gravel and alot of people came out with grazed knees.

My only complaint is that some of the staff were unfriendly especially in the restaurant, not once did i see them smile. Also there were alot of wasps on the complex we never got stung but other people did.

Overall the holiday was pleasant but i have been to better and friendlier places in Greece. Make the most of the hotel's courtesy bus to Hanioti or Pefkouri which operates morning and evening we used this often.
Chrousso beach is not far about 10 minutes away, a lovely sandy beach and calm blue seas.

Our expectations we managed before we arrived. Being away from a resort and a short walk from beach was no problem.

Excellent facilities for children, never had to worry where they were.

Very clean and public areas kept clean throughout day/evening.

Food very good, always something available at snack bar.

All staff very helpful and friendly. Thomas, entertainment guy did the best he could with facilities available. Only problem that entertainment area away from bar!

We were in chrousso village sept 2004-oct 2004.

There was nine of us that went myself my husband and 3 children aged 3,8,10 also my friend her husband and 2 children aged 4 & 9.

Well what can I say, we had a fantastic holiday, none of my children wanted to come home. The kids clubs were fantastic and they did so much with them, I don't really like kids clubs but my children begged to go, just beware put them in old clothes as the paint doesn't come out.

The beach was beautiful great for snorkelling, loads of water sports. The walk isn't too bad to the beach take no notice of these people who say it takes ages, it took about 8 mins specially on the way down and it's a lovely walk through the woods. Before you know it you are there. You can get your water from the hotel and take it to the beach with you, you don't have to buy it from the shop the bar on the complex supplies most things.

There isn't a bar on the beach as such just a snack bar but it is very cheap and sells hot dogs, burgers, alcohol most drinks and ice cream. We ended up taking a picnic down the beach even though we were all inclusive, we had beach days when we didn't walk back to the hotel for lunch.

The apartments were basic but great for us just what we needed, no complaints very clean. The cleaners even washed my cups you don't get that everywhere do you?

The food was lovely no complaints their either, just a little niggle they could have done a little more for the kids the variety for them was not what they wanted, but if your kids are like mine they were happy with the snack bar and cheese toasties. The restaurant manager looks like he's staring at you but I don't think he means anything by it, I just think he wants to know everyone is enjoying their food and their holiday he is actually quiet nice when you talk to him, but he does like people to be dressed nicely for dinner, you will see he always has shirt and trousers on.

Everything is included in your holiday apart from names spirits like Jack Daniels, Bells, Schnapps, and they are quite expensive to buy from the bar. But all you have to do is have the cocktail of the day and you will have a merry time. The children loved the chocolate thick shake, but be careful the strawberry one is not free.

The shop is basic but for what you will need they will have it's not really expensive like I heard people say, I think they must shop at pound land and nowhere else.

The entertainment is pretty much as you would expect. They have super deluxe bingo, quiz nights, but we seemed to come back down from the entertainment arena and stay at the bar. We met so many lovely people we used to have our own party's and make Ililious the barman who by the way is a lovely chap and works so hard, turn up the music and have a good dance in the bar no flashing lights but heh a few of his cocktails you are away with the fairies. If Tom the entertainment guy is their he is Austrian, what a laugh we made him do us a karaoke night, I don't think he knew what hit him when we arrived.

The excursion I think is well worth the money and what a laugh is the pirate ship we had a fantastic day, but take drinks with you as when we got to the island the bar ran out we did take a few bottles. It is great on the way back as everyone is well merry and had a big sing along with the reps - what a laugh,

Oh almost forgot to hire a car is about

The journey from Thessaloniki Airport is a full 2 hrs.
We like many others were S/C until we realised AI would be far better value 27euro a day, kids under 12 free. The bar is expensive, the bar staff reasonably friendly. The food was quite good, plenty of choice.Restaurant staff excellent.Entertainment very average, bingo[you have to pay]quiz, etc.Kids club was good, 3 times daily.Playgrounds ok.Pools were excellent.Rooms spotless,tv/phone,etc.No Air Con,or fan hire.Hotel grounds gorgeous, beach a good 10min walk, nice beach, watch out for the sea anemones.Nearest town Paliouri,VERY Greek, nothing there.Pefkahora & Hanioti both good 6 & 9 euros in a cab respectively. The hotel is the resort basically.

Hotel Chrousso was exactly what it said in the brochure. it was secluded but there were many alternatives (cheap ones) to getting around Halkidiki.
if you were looking for a lot of nightlife and entertainment chrousso would have bored you. for me however it was perfect, all i wanted was a laid back, holiday to relax and somewhere for the children to go. being half-board we had he meals provided and the food was very good, it was very much the same style each night but there was something for everyone. and buying your own dinner was never a problem as the hotels mini market had a lot of choice as to what you could buy, at reasonable prices. the hotel was really clean and i have no complaints about that, the food or the staff. ou were made aware of the remoteness in the brouchure so that wasnt a let down and with a very close beach there were many water sports to do if you got that bored and many cruises and activities. i would definetly visit the hotel again. the brochure really doesnt give it enough credit. it was a beautiful, classy hotel with equally nice staff.
