Lively resort with many tavernas from basic to fairly high end
Plenty of bars ( but no clubs to my knowledge)Family and couple orientated.
Very clean with a village square at the heart of it where locals and visitors congregate in the evening.
Very clean
Beach is pebble/ shingle but there are sand beaches nearby, again very clean.
Car is a good idea as limited public transport but plenty of coach/ boat trips available.

Scala is a lovely resort with plenty of bars restaurants and shops. There is a large beach which always looked very clean. Like most of Kefalonia the entertainment is quite low key though there is normally some live music playing in one of the hotels.

A really quiet resort. Just what you need if you are trying to get away from it all. Its a really small and very friendly place with some really great places to eat. Would recommend Aquarius. The Pines. The beach is a shingle beach and very clean, plenty of parasols and umbrella sets to hire usually six euros. Would definatly visit again.

Very clean...No entertainment. Once you have eaten at one of the many resturants there isn't much to do unless you like browsing in the supermarkets. The whole place came to a stand still after 10pm..I don't like noisy place but this was just a little to nothing to do place..I was completly bored out of my mind from day 2 into my holiday...
All in all I think I had too many expections and was very, very disappointed in Kefaliona..Just no atmosphere..

Beaches are lovely and not crowded. Fiskardo is wonderful. Resort is very friendly and Greek people cannot do enough for you. Scenery is fantastic. Would need to hire a car to be able to see the best of island

Lovely resort, very Greek with lots of small tavernas to try each night, loved Veto for a cocktail and Venus for a Beer, Symposium was a really romantic place to eat with a pianist and a singer.

Skala is a very pretty, small resort, with plenty of restaurants and a few bars. There is a little square covered in pine trees, that allows for a little breather away from the searing sun. The beach is mainly shingle but does get sandier as you walk to your right, though be aware of the nudist beach around the corner!
There are a few water sports available, and boat trips. We did both, and they are good value for money and the boat trips around the island is a must see. Kefalonia is stunning.

Scala is small and quiet but has lots of tavernas and bars. It's not a resort for 18-30's!! The beaches are clean and generally sandy and the water is crystal clear. The best beaches are at the far end of the resort. From scala you can get a water taxi to Poros (where ferries leave to the mainland)and Katelois both of which are small but well worth a visit. I'd recommend that you hire a car as the island really has a lot to see and you be missing out on a lot if you stayed in scala for the whole of your holiday.

Scala is a delight. The beach is long and clean and, even when busy, has plenty of room. The locals are friendly and there were no "lager louts" to be seen. Scala's main road is closed in the evening and there is a lovely atmosphere around its many tavernas and bars. A wonder around the residential area at the top of the town gives a nice flavour of the "real" Scala.
Recommended for couples and families with children in particular. Meal costs are high (compared to our usual destination, Crete), varying between eighteen for a simple pizza and salad with soft drinks to thirty plus euros for a more substantial meal for two. In the supermarkets, Greek food brands also found in the UK were priced higher than in Tesco's etc. The Greeks must find the cost of living horrendous.
A word of advice on the tour operators' trips and car hire: avoid! You can go on identical trips and hire identical cars (with full insurance) for far less by booking elsewhere. Remember, the travel rep. and travel company are on commission.
