Aegean Village is a short walk from the lively Kardamena SO you have a choice of peace and quiet at Aegean Village or walk to the hustle and bustle of shops ,bars or restaurants. The beaches vary from a rocky area to a sandy area.I would certainly continue to visit this resort annually......This year we are going in May and Sept.
Great!

The resort is clean and tidy but everything closes down after dinner leaving no form of entertainment whatsoever. The local town is a 45 min walk each way or 18 Euros in a cab (and it's really not worth going to). To be fair, the beach is first class and the location of the hotel is grat making days very good and nights very, very boring.

The resort was very quiet this year and you get the feeling that they are suffering the effects of the Euro and the All Inclusives. It was busier last time we went and that was at the end of September 2006.
The Cocktails and Dreams end of the resort is suffering quite badly with many of the bars empty and a number of them having closed altogether. Not helped, I feel by the opening of a Lap Dancing bar next to the Two Johnnies. A very disappointing addition to the nightlife, and quite frankly I cannot see why they have it. We walked by most evenings on the way out and on the way back and there was never anyone in there.
Very little entertainment in resort of a nighttime, other than the "kiddies" bar crawls.
My partner has always loved shopping in an evening, but given the prices now that wasn't really an option. She used to be able to spend hours looking for new handbags! However, they seem to be pricing themselves out of the market. e80 for a knockoff handbag identical to one her daughter picked her up in Bulgaria that cost £15.
You feel that the resort needs to go back to basics and re-introduce a more authentic greek atmosphere as was evident when we first visited 20 years ago.
Can't comment much on the restaurants as we only ever eat at Aramis. Imagine our horror when we discovered it had been turned into a tourist shop! However, a quick walk down to the Artemis bar remedied that when we saw the Dmitris had not upped sticks, but merely moved location to the seafront and renamed as Pelagos. Still excellent food at reasonable prices and with very friendly staff.
All in all a very relaxing break, but if they continue trying to make up for the lack of visitors by increasing prices I fear the resort will suffer even further.

The Sani resort is purpose built around a really lovely marina. It is easily accessible via the beach or a shuttle bus that runs every 20 mins to all of the 4 guest areas..Sani Hotel, Sani Beach Club, Porto Sani Village and lastly the Astoria Suites (very posh...check out the prices). About a dozen lovely bars, no night clubs, watersports on the beach, generally quiet and relaxing.

let me start by stating Kardamena is a very nice resort.
There are enough standard of hotels (ie 5* and others) that there are a good mix of tourists.
Along the main marina of kardamena there are alot of very very good restaurants offering many good dishes for approx 10 euros. There is also a mcdonalds towards the beach.
Bar street is the place where all the drinking takes place- i say this.... but at 12 o'clock ALL the music gets turned off!!! This takes some getting used too but at this point i would recommend going to one of the clubs.

Kardamena is a small village, not the greatest holiday resort but it was ok. We were at Kos in the end of may and beginning of june and I think there is going to be a little more action fom mid june and forward.

The resort was surprisingly clean considering it is the party place - which typically tend to be littered. The entertainment was plentiful and 24/7 if you want it.
The beaches were great but pebble beaches so take some flip flops that you don't mind going into the sea with.
I would visit the resort again, but probably as a night visitor - travelling from another part of the island.

Not the cleanest of resorts but typical of Greece, a bit dusty and some litter around, enough supermarkets and gift type shops for its size and for the 18/30 crowd plenty of bars and clubs for which the village is renowned, also many good traditional taverner's tucked around and yes for those who like foreign food there is a McDonald's, the harbour area is beautiful but many of the beaches around are either shingle or course sand, but for beach bums the water more than makes up for this with its Azure blue haze and almost bottomless vision

Kardamena is a very clean resort, mainly on the flat, so it is suitable for people with disabilities and pushchairs.
The entertainment is varied, ranging from nightclubs which open around midnight, when the bars, which are numerous, have to switch off their music, to bars and superb restaurants. For authentic Greek food, try Avli, Alexanders, Annas, or the Posidonia. If your tastes are tradiditional English, Ellies carvery is a must. There are also Chinese and Indian restaurants available.
I preferred the quieter bars, away from bar street, especially the Paradiso, which plays 60s, 70s, and 80s music, and Robert Temple , the comedy hypnotist, is anact not to be missed, either as an audience member, or participant.
