Beaches

The resort of Kardamena is a picturesque village which comes alive at night. The beach is clean and there are plenty of sunbeds to be had. I would visit this resort again.

We've been to Kardamena before and once again we were not disappointed. We chose to go back to get married and it didn't fail to amaze us how wonderful it all turned out. We had an excellent day weatherwise and the local people were just divine, making our wedding something special. Kardamena is fantastic. Streets are full of shops, bars, restaurants that will cater for everyone and their tastes. The beach is great, plenty of room for everyone, plenty of sunbeds for hire. We met so many wonderful local people. I would recommend Adams Bar, where the wonderful Yiannis and Liz will serve you up the best cocktails in Kardamena, we spoke to Yiannis in particular, what a lovely lovely man. Not to be too confusing, but we went to Yiannis restaurant (not the Yiannis previously mentioned) for our wedding meal and once again, the local people were just wonderful. The restaurant owner kept my Daniel Bedingfield CD that we danced to, yes we danced in the restaurant! I had a ball getting my hair done in Maxines the hairdresser so if you're thinking of getting married in Antimachia near Kardamena, Maxines is pretty good to get your hair done in. Kardamena is a short journey away from Kos Town, where you can get on the boat for a trip to Bodrum in Turkey, very good if you want to visit another resort, another country, another continent. I wouldn't recommend the Blue Note restaurant though, it was a bit shabby, could do with a lick of paint. It looks nice from a distance and looks out onto the harbour but very cold when the wind picks up. Another restaurant called Romano (I think) was awful. I asked for cheesy pasta and got a plate of long spaghetti mixed in some yucky cheese sauce, disgusting. The best restaurant in Kardamena has to be the Avli, a traditional Greek restaurant that serves the best moussaka I have tasted yet. Brilliant. It is such a beautiful place inside and very calming and romantic too. If you go to Kardamena on holiday, it will not disappoint. We love Kos as a place, lots to see and do, you will not be disappointed.

The resort was very clean with a queit atomosphere the main drag was very well catered for with a wide variety of
food outlets and a macdonalds?
One of the best tavernas by miles was the paradise resturant by silver beach run by george and albert.
Good value food music and george the complete entertainment package.
the beach was clean and the water clean although in places the rocks are a little sharp!
overall it was a lovley holiday and will return in a few years there is a lot of greece to see halakidiki this year

I have visited Kardamena, Kos 3 times now, i loved it that much that i chose to get married there!!
The resort is reasonably small but with an unbelieve amount of bars, restaurants, clubs and shops, there is plenty to do.
The beach is long but quite narrow, being honest its not the best beach but its clean, for the best part i would go down to by the mcdonalds end where it is a lot nicer and water is easier to get into as it is very stoney when first walking into it. For those looking for a nicer beach you can do day trips to Paradise Beach (Bubble Beach) which is a fantastic white sand beach and not too far away.
I would definately recommend Kardamena to people of all ages, my parents are in their 60's and loved it as well as my family and friends who ages ranged from 4-34.

We did go to Kardamena and thought it was very clean and tidy.No rubbish in the streets etc.Quaint little streets with lots of shops selling usual holiday 'stuff'.Lots of bars and restuarants to get a drink in at night-very lively.
We did have a look at the beach and harbour which looked very nice.
I would deffinately visit this resort again in the future.

A Tale of Two Town:
By day and early evening Kardamena is a typical Greek seaside holiday town with clean beaches, friendly restaurants and the usual shops. All-in-all a nice place to stroll around and enjoy.
By night (from 9 p.m.onwards) Kardamena becomes a cattle market with predominately English gangs of drunks crawling along (literally!)Bar Street and playing their mating games. That's fine if you like that sort of thing but, quite frankly, I found it all a bit embarassing to witness and was only too glad to get back on the shuttle bus to the hotel. I just hope that the town doesn't turn into another Malia.
So by day and evening Kardamena is great, but, by night, not my cup of tea at all.

Kardamena was very enjoyable even though I'm a bit of an oldie now . It's geared very much towards a yopunger audience but the pubs we went to did cater for all tastes when playing music and all the staff made a point of speaking to the customers and involving them . For the amount of young people there on either holiday or organised trips , plus the amount of alcohol being consumed ; I never saw any trouble or fighting . There is having said that a very tough looking security presence which although is not too obvious is all lurking around in the background at specific "hot spots" ( Thomas Cook rep language not mine )

We have stayed in Kardamena several times and always return to Cleopatra Superior. This year we had a fantastic day it was our Golden wedding anniversary and we decided to treat ourselves to a special day, on strolling down the harbour we saw a beautiful traditional wooden boat called 'Zeus' for daily trips. We hired this just for ourselves for the day....Wow what a fantastic day!! Andy & Carole were fantastic hosts, 7 hours of sheer bliss, swimming snorkelling and Andy's bbq skills are amazing..we had such a great time we rebooked again but this time we shared with 8 others and this is what they call a full boat...just 10 of us...it was unbelievable....we would recommend this to anyone....an a class trip!.....well worth every euro
