Myltopi is a restaurant that you will be able to see from the pool area at Billy’s. It looks like a windmill but it’s a beautiful restaurant. It is a bit pricey but the food and service are outstanding! If you ring up in advance they will take you to and from the restaurant for free!

One of the quieter resorts in Kos. A good selection of tavernas and night life is relatively low key. the beach is very average but you can take a boat trip from the harbour to the fantastic Paradise Beach, the only down side is it can get very crowded. Best suited to romantic couples and middle aged groups.

Plenty of bars and restaurants. Can highly recommend the homemade sweets(Greek cakes) at grand cafe.
Beech has pebbles at one end and large sand area in the middle. Plenty of water sports(that is all you gonna get)

The beach is very shingly and there is often quite a wind here which is why it is popular with wind surfer. For a better beach take a boat trip from the harbour to Paradise Beach. it is also worth getting the irregular bus service into Kos town for a day. Avoid using Airtours tour operator trips which are ridiculously expensive. You are better off going under you own steam or using one of the tour company agency in Kefalos. The "Sponge" Island of Kalymnos is also worth a visit. A good selection of Tavernas but best to avoid the few where someone is standing outside asking you to eat there which rather precludes you from looking at the menu. These tend to be the more commercialised and tourist tavernas.

Small quiet friendly resort, mainly shingle beaches but there is a small sandy beach at harbour end of resort and a larger one at other end of the bay. However nearby bubble beach is excellent.
Lots of choice of resturants, small number of bars,a resort more suited to couples who prefer a relaxing time.
Kefalos has many repeat visitors.

It was absolutely brilliant everyone is really friendly lots to do. I have been three times and am already booked up for next year. I would advise anyone to go the young and old theres something here for everyone. The hotel is extremely clean and friendly you'd be mad not to go. x

All in all Kefalos is very clean, I didn't notice any litter in the streets. Most of the bars and restaurants are geared up for the brits with Full English Breakfast and big screen tv's. We're not beach lovers so I can't comment on the standard but there were a couple of small ones and also a larger one at the far end of the resort which seemed to be shingle. There is a good bus service into Kos which has a lovely harbour and lots of shops and bars. This is where to head for boat trips to Turkey.

Rresort very clean seems to attract 40 to 50 age bracket, approx 16 bars and restaurants only one playing loud music but only until midnight.
Beach was brilliant down near the harbour.

Kefalos is in my opinion a well kept secret and is very different from the other larger resorts in kos. If you want to get away from it all but like to dip into the larger towns, car hire was reasonable and the roads really easy to use. Over the mountain in Kefalos is the most fantastic stretch of unspoilt beach I have ever been to and really safe to swim in the breakers. Managed by a local fisherman, he is helpful and often does deals on the sun beds and umbrellas.
Kos town is such a contrast to this little resort, and it was a shock to be pestered constantly by patrons of cafes trying to get you to eat in their bars. Despite this Kos town is well worth a visit, especially at night to visit the old centre and walk through the beautifully lit small streets filled with shops selling everything from spices to lace and the usual tat.
We also visited the water park just outside Kos town, which was not expensive and a good day out for adults and children.
Chrysoula Appts are on the edge of Kefalos and in my opinion the best end of the town to stay. There are several lovely restaurants in easy walking distance that are set out onto the beach. Many nights we sat and watched the sun set eating our meal. Would recommend to anyone.

Kefalos is very laid back, no taxis at all when we went in Aug 2004 ~ but the horse and carriage was great fun !
The people are very friendly, they adore children, and the food out of this world ! We all love Greek food and the best meal we had was at Argo's which is at the very end of the resort ~ a bit of a trek from our accomadation but very well worth it! Another great restaurant (and cheaper than Argo's) was Hubs ~ such friendly staff and excellent food ~ we went there most nights.
Not loads of shops but enough to buy presents etc. Supermarkets more than adequate and well stocked. The beach was fine, a bit shingly but we are pool people anyway, but we did have a walk along the beach and the views are stunning. It's very hot here but we had a lovely breeze so it's bearable.
We loved Kefalos and we will probably go back one day, maybe when we've visited a few more of the Greek Islands !!
