I am sorry but compared to other 4* hotels this hotel is not, in my opinion, in this ranking.
Goods went missing from our locked hotel room. The safe was so small we were unable to get all our goods stowed away. We took the decision to put the most expensive items in the safe (thankfully), although we still lost approx

Just returned from a 2 week stay at the Kos Aqua Beach Club. I've read the other reviews but to be honest we had a great time. Yes there were queues for the food, depending on what time you went, but we managed to avoid the busy periods. The layout of the buffet changed for the better a few times during our stay, so they were learning from experience. Food was good but did tend to be the same choices every couple of days. There was space set out on the roof, possibly for other restaurants, but the doors were locked.
The rooms we had were clean and modern, but the bath only had a handheld shower in it, although other guests did have wall mounted power showers. The holes in the ground for the plumbing were filled in by the second week of our stay although manhole covers had not been installed. The plants and grass were begining to flourish and should be well established for next years season. There were still some dry patches to be planted.
The wave pool was great but I do agree that the water in the slide pool was a bit shallow and you may hit the bottom coming off a slide. The pool bar was good but for some reason (probably staff shortages) it closed during evening meal times (19:30-21:30). This time also coincided with the start of the "entertainment" so guest were bringing their drinks down from the main bar / restaurant. The entertainment was poor, but better acts started appearing during the second week. To be honest I'm not really into this so was not that bothered.
The hotel is located about 3 miles each way from Tigaki and Kos town outskirts. You can walk to Kos town centre in about 1.5 hours - head along the beach road, next to the football pitch, for about half a mile, past the next hotel complex until you hit the main road. Follow this long straight road along the coast for a couple of miles until a sharp bend, and you are at the outskirts of Kos. Another. mile or so takes you to the harbour. If you can't be bothered walking a taxi costs 9 Euros each way. Tigaki is 3 miles in the opposite direction. Not sure if you can walk along the beach. On the issue of the beach being open to anyone walking in - I'm ok with this as I have walked through other so called private beaches myself, and I don't want to go on holiday to be fenced in. Hotel management could post a guard at either end to check that you have a wristband. Why should you let your guard down on holiday regarding the protection of personal possessions? Who is to say that it is locals that are stealing items and not other guests?
If you are there for more than a week I would recommend that you hire a car and see some of the island. Kos town is lively with plent of shops, bars and restuarants. Book trips to Turkey etc. through local agents rather than the tour rep - you will save a fortune. Visit the new water park outside Mastihari but make sure you stay there until after 3pm. This is when the buses leave, and you will have the place to yourself until closing time.
We may come back here if we can book independently. I would not have paid the prices originally quoted by First Choice.

Hotel looks good like others had a few problems. Same food on and off the whole holiday. Kos town nice, 9 or 10 euros each way price not the same any trip. Too far to walk tried to do it but too hot and to far. I don't want to walk for hours to anywhere on holiday.
Rooms modern and clean no shower. No English Telly apart from the news.
Grounds around the hotel are growing but a long way off. Holes still around not covered.
Entertainment rubbish. Pools sharp as others have said. Bar ok but closes early. No water sports. No orginized sports. No gym users.
Kind of boring place to go kids like ice creams good. Won't bother again as it would be too expensive for what you are paying for in the first choice book. Borderline for what we paid for a cheap holiday. Glad we went wont do it again.
Just make sure you take a good book for the eveinings unless you don't mind what you drink.

This has got to be the worst holiday I have ever had.
Where shall I start.
Food.
Edible but very very boring virtually the same things every night it seemed to work on a 2 night rotation. The food at the poolside bar was my main concern cheese and ham rolls, peculiar looking burgers and pizza everyday These were made at 10 in the morning and placed in plastic containers. These containers had lift up openings to the front and were not refrigerated. Some items where wrapped in tin foil so people would open them to see what was inside and then put them back, you could see the cheese melting in temperatures up to 40 degrees. I forbid my 2 daughters to eat from here, surely an anyone with basic food hygiene knowledge could see the dangers in this practise.
Overall cleanliness in this hotel was very bad. This was mainly due to the under staffing. When we arrived on the 26th the water in the wave pool was very clear, when we left it was disgustingly cloudy. The areas around this pool was never cleaned, I pointed out to the supervisor in charge of the cleaning a pool of dried blood that had come from a young boy who had broken his nose, 1 week later I was still pointing it out. There was a lot of blood drips around this pool from other accidents that had occurred.
The rooms were never cleaned properly, towels seemed to be all or nothing. The balcony was never cleaned whilst we where there and the room was swept once. The beds were changed once although only 1 was made. I had to do the other 2 myself as the sheets were left folded on the bottom of the beds.
The dug holes with the exposed wiring was a concern as where the man hole covers that were removed from the the vaults that probably contained the pools filtration equipment, this was situated between the children's play area and slide pool, the hole itself was approx 3ft x 4ft and 5-6ft deep with cylindrical tanks inside.
My children went into the slide pool on our first day both came out with lots of grazes and said the water was to shallow for the slides. My girls have travelled all over and have been to lots of slide pools and know what they are talking about. This pool was closed for 2 days for maintenance repairs on the 2nd and 3rd of august after a little girl fell through a grid covering and hurt her leg. I have never witnessed so many accidents whilst on holiday.
We ventured to the "beach" once for about 30secs never went again. How can they call it a beach.
I found if you complained to the rep he would just agree with you and then blame the hotel management, both parties passed the buck or feigned not understanding.
Up until 3 days before we left the entertainment was abysmal if you where over 10yrs of age, the kids entertainers did their best. The hotel has now started bringing in outside entertainers for the adults every 3rd night. A bit too little and a bit too late I think.
The location of the hotel was not very good, if you wanted to leave the hotel you had to make sure you had at least 20euros on you to cover your taxi fare.
This hotel was rated as a 4 star I think it has a long way to go before it can justify having this rating.
