Afandou was lovely, plenty of restaurants serving lovely food. Excellent selection of bars. The beach is a shingle beach but the sea was lovely and warm, could have swam in there all day.

The Georgia apartments are approx a 10-minute walk from the town where there are numerous tavernas and bars, don't miss Sergios for an excellent meal but be warned the portions are huge. The beach at Afandou was quiet when we were there (first 2 weeks in July 2004) but this is probably due to the fact that there is very little sand at the waters edge it is all pebbles, if this does not bother you then you will love it the water is crystal clear.

The village is very laid back!!. A great place to relax and people watch!!. You just need to walk into the village and the village people remember you from the previous year. They always make you welcome and they have time for a chat. as a closing note I hope this village remains un-changed

The village of afandou is a quite village set away from all the hustle and bustle of city life . There are plenty of bars and restraunts which provide fantastic greek amd english dishes. There are no pushing and shoving of the waiters to get you into the bars like some resorts. The local greeks all use the village which gives you a safe feeling.
Afandou beach was awful shingle (which I expected) but covered with litter with very limited facilities. Potentially good if some money was put into it. Afandou village itself was nice and friendly. I would not go to Afandou again but having visited Lindos, Faliraki Water Park (our best day by miles) and Rhodes "old" town, would definitely go to Rhodes again but not with Olympic.
