We all had such a great time, the hotel is beautiful, all staff were freindly and really helpful, nothing was too much trouble. I was very lucky to celebrate my birthday whilst I was there and my husband and close friend(s), arranged with the staff to set out a table, with candles and birthday banners, and bottles of Asti on ice waiting for us when we arrived to the resturant. They also arranged for a cake which was enjoyed by us all.
The facilities for the children are great, the park with the dodgems and carosel are brilliant for all ages. The two waterslides on the resort are great and can be enjoyed by adults as well as the children, with the safety of a life guard on duty, during a majority of the day.
If you feel brave their is a hut on the beach were you can organise to go out to sea on the banana boats, or the squib, as some of our group did, and a deal can be done with them if you can get a big enough group to go out.
The entertainment team are constantly on the go. They arrange activities all throughout the day for all ages, such as water activities for the kids, football, beach vollyball and table tennis. Although my little boy didn't join the kids club, I saw many children with the animation team playing, or face painting and having fun.
They would then have a kids disco which was enjoyed not only by the kids in our group, but also by most of the adults who enjoyed joing in with the dance routines and the very catchy music.

The All Inclusive option is very good - be prepare to gain weight!! The day starts with a lovely breakfast in the main restaurant - a large selection of breads, cereals, pastries, omelettes, cooked breakfast etc - all cooked beautifully. Staff work hard to clear tables quickly, food was replaced & kept hot and they still had a smile.
The snacks consist of pizzas, pastries & sandwiches & ice cream all day & lunch can be taken either in the Taverna next to the pool or the main restaurant. Nice selection of meats, vegetables and salads etc (a lot of pork) but all beautifully cooked. Always spaghetti bolognese available & chips for the fussy children along with fish fingers & chicken nuggets most days.
The same sort of dishes available for the evening meal but plenty of choices on offer so you shouldnt get too bored.
Fab selection of desserts!!
Great AI drinks, all shorts plus cocktails made to order from a menu.
Hotel absolutely spotless - an army of cleaners inside & out from morning till night. Pools lovely & clean.
Family rooms spacious, carpeted floors in main room but bathroom floor like glass when wet!! Lots of storage - a sliding partition doors separate the childrens sleeping area. (Bunks or a single bed)
For the children there is a carousel, water slides, climbing wall, bouncy castle, play frame, play house and dodgems (open from 4pm - 8pm along with popcorn & candy floss during this time - all free!!). A hotel run mini club also operates which the kids really enjoyed. There are electronic games & pool tables in the bar/cafe near the beach (payable)
The animation team are superb. They have something going on every 1/2 hour throughout the day & will come around to ask you if you want to join in but they are not too pushy. They also provide the evening entertainment which is very professional. There is a mini disco for the children before the main show.
The hotel also has a soft play room and its very own cinema which shows a chidrens film in the morning & an adults film in the evening.
There is an internet room and a cashpoint within the hotel.
The beach is pebbly / shingly and you will need swim shoes - get them from the hotel shop - cheaper than in the UK
The hotel is situated along the main road from Kalithea to Faliraki - there are about 7 hotels spread along this road with shopping complexes dotted in between - a taxi into Faliraki is only 5 euro.
The hotel has its own jetty & the sea shuttle boat runs 3 times a day into Rhodes Town & also to Fakliraki - this works out slightly cheaper than getting a taxi for 2 adults ( children under 6 free)
Some points to note
1. Its expensive to phone from the hotel - even using the phones in reception - get a phonecard and call from the public phones in the shops up the road.
2. Its a very large hotel - apparently in high season there are 1500 adults & 500 kids. I would imagine the sunbed rush would be dreadful & the queues for food & drinks ridiculous - when we went at the end of September there was plenty of room for everyone to have space & there were no queues for anything and the weather was lovely so bear this in mind.
3. Get good insect repellent - we were bitten to death!
4. The hotel has very good pushchair / disabled access but the pavements outside are very narrow & potholed.
If you have children then this is the place for you - its very safe - you can let the kids have some freedom and theres so much for them to do they will love it!

The room was a nice size with twin beds and bunk beds. The balcony was very safe for little one as it was a solid wall and about 3 ft high.
The food could be a bit repetitive but I thought it catered well for all nationalities, and my son really enjoyed the bacon in the morning!
The location was ideal for us. We were about half a mile from Faliraki which was ideal. We walked into Faliraki via the beach and it took us about 20 mins. Wasn't too impressed with Fali though!!
The hotel staff were really friendly and some of the bar staff were excellent. As for the animation team I cannot say enough about them, they were an excellent, really hardworking bunch.
The shows that they put on were brilliant and they were so friendly and amusing that you felt you had to join in at some point with their games.
They really made this holiday for us. We never ventured far from the hotel as there was no need to, everything from the entertainment to the childrens rides and pools were right on your doorstep.
We went to the waterpark, which we thought was excellent, (5 mins walk away), we had a full day there and throughly enjoyed it. It catered from the very young to the needing to feel young again!!
Only downside is it is built on a hill and there are a lot of steps to climb!

We chose the Esperides because of the children's entertainment and the location of the hotel (the couple got married in the Esperides chapel at the top of the hill).
When we arrived we were put in a family room in the old building which was fine until we seen were are friends were staying and our room was like Pontins as theirs was like the Hilton!! We asked to be moved and were moved to the new building with no fuss at all our room was unbelievable lovely, clean and spacious with a carpet fantastic when you have an 18 month old falling over frequently!!
The pools were great and the lagoon although freezing was kept clean.
The location was not the best as we were all young couples with children and like the nightlife but we walked to Faliraki every night which took about 30 mins (kept our weight off for the wedding)
The staff were ever so lovely and kept stealing our daughter to give her cuddles and kisses, they were so helpful, polite and courteous.
The entertainments team deserve an award they were all from Italy and worked so hard on keeping us all going through the day and night...fantastic.
I would return to this hotel again only thing which would stop me is location too far from Faliraki centre. We had a brill holiday, my thanks to all at the Esperides.

Absolutely brilliant and well recommended.
The hotel was spotless and the staff very accommodating and friendly. Considering it is such a large hotel, it was so well run and you didn't have to worry about a thing.
Location is right onto the beach, which was shingle but pleasant.
Very large and well maintained pool and gardens. There was a slight problem with the sunbeds, but we found it generally ok, getting enough sunbeds for all of us on all but the last 2 days.
Apart from the pools, there is plenty for the kids (and adults) to do, ranging from the small waterpark/fair/bouncy castle/games on site, to the extensive range of activities during the day from the Animation Team - "kick the flip flop" being one of the more unusual activities, but also the usual volleyball/water polo/water aerobics/keep fit type activities. The Animation were second to none!!! They really made our holiday and it is partly due to them that we wish to return next year. The shows were absolutely fantastic and the team gave it everything (and more) they had.
The food was lovely, although a bit monotonous after 2 weeks. Typical half board fare, but always beautifully presented and very appetising. The dining room staff, again, always very friendly and made you feel really welcome. My daughter was 13 while we were away and we had planned to go out for the evening. The head of the dining room arranged for a birthday cake at breakfast instead. This is automatic for any birthdays and the staff will join in with singing Happy Birthday. Really made her day.
The only downside, and I suppose there has to be at least one, was the lifts. Considering the size of the hotel, there are only 2 small lifts that service every floor. There are 2 other lifts that only service a few floors and 1 small glass lift that doesn't go further than reception (pool access is on floor below - which is a nuisance if you have lilo's etc to carry)
On the whole, I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a really good atmosphere, friendly and professional accommodation and an all round fantastic time.

The rooms and the hotel in general were kept extremely clean, towels and linen changed daily etc.
The food was of a good standard and well presented, although it could be a little bit repetative. The sweets were excellent.
The hotel is right on the beach with all the usual ammenities, para gliding, pedallos, etc. Also right in front of the hotel you can pick up the water taxi to Rhodes Faliraki and Lindos. There is a small childrens funfair with roundabout dodgems and a climbing wall. The hotel is about 10 minute from the water park, although I would reccomend a taxi (5 euros) up the hill to the entrance.
The hotel staff, with 1 or 2 exceptions on the front desk were superb, Goerge and Maria in the restaurant as well as Sammas, Stavos and Raymond at the bar couldn't do enough for you.
The animation team worked really hard to make the holiday fun. there was always something to do from about 10.30 in the morning, bowls, football, water aerobics etc. I really can't praise them too highly.
Only one real downside. The lifts. We were on the first floor, which is really the fourth floor, and we found we couldn't call the main lifts from our floor so had to take the scenic lift or walk.
Although we do not really return to places (the world is a big place) we would certainly return to the Esperides

The older part is terrible. Noisy, cramped, worn, dull.
The food would only satisfy those who like boring, unadventurous food, don't like anything too fancy or foreign and enjoy grease more than Greek. If pasta and ham/pork are your favourites you'll be in heaven (every day).
The pools are OK. But if you have kids and need to lie within sight of the pool, under an umbrella to give them some shelter, then don't expect a lie-in in the mornings. It's the 6:00AM shift for you. If your towel isn't in place by 6:45 you'll have to make do with what's left.
The staff vary from the really helpful to the really useless.
The Animation (entertainment) team are the real stars. They are amazing. Out from 10:00AM to midnight. They organise activities, sports, kids clubs, mini-disco etc. And then go on to do wonderful shows most nights of the week.
The hotel kids' club was OKish.

The room we were in was okay but apparently not up to the standard of the newly refurbished rooms. The room was cleaned daily and clean towels provided on a daily basis.
The hotel food was good but a bit repetitive. However, with two children aged 10 and 11, there was plenty to choose from. The hotel staff were friendly. We had two waiters assigned to our area of the dining room and both were great.
It was my sister's birthday whilst we were there and without any prompting, a birthday cake appeared whilst we were eating dinner which was a lovely gesture.
The entertainment team were brill and the kids couldn't wait to get down for the shows at night - every evening a different show which meant we never had to leave the hotel at night for entertainment.
During the day the entertainment team came round to ask for participants but there was never any pressure to join in! The only downside and this was a real bugbear was that you had to be up at 6am to get a sunbed in a decent place round the pool. There were also numerous arguments about the sunbeds due to the fact that some people were taking towels off etc etc etc. I found it a bit of a bind getting up at 6am to reserve a sunbed and felt a bit of a "saddo" but if you didn't, no sunbed!!!
The hotel is on the beach, however, getting into the sea is another matter! The beach is shingly and trying to get into it is entertainment itself! Having finally managed to get in, you then stumble onto the rocks and seaweed which is very slippery and there were many surprised faces as people slithered about. If you manage to get past that, then it's great!!! The only problem then is getting out!
All in all, however, a very enjoyable holiday. When we went, it was on a half-board basis but there were rumours that in 2006 it was going "all inclusive" so don't know what that will be like.

Being a big party as we were we had been informed that we would have at least one room with interconnecting doors. This was not the case. At first we were told that 2 of our rooms were in one block and the other in a completely different block. We explained the situation and the reception staff located us rooms close enough for our liking.
The room itself was nothing special. The balcony door did not shut properly and tiles were falling off the wall in the bathroom. But we were later informed that this block was soon to be updated and.
The hotel is a small walk away from a square of shops and bars but a slightly more challenging walk from the centre of Falaraki and the main bar street.
Now moving to the Hotel's star point. The Animation Team that entertained the hotel guest's were AMAZING. They played loads of different water and beach sports and got everyone joining in. They were a real good laugh and it was extremely sad that we had to leave them. A good bunch of people who really could boost your confidence as a person and get you to try new and challenging activities.
