Just arrived back from this hotel, it is fab, wonderful pools, friendly staff, great food, only lacks some of the more refined details to make a 5 star hotel. the only problem........ Thomson's, probably the worst tour operator in the business.
To dispell previous comments this hotel is not in any way owned by TUI it is owned and operated by the Atlantica Hotel group a Cypriat company and not connected to TUI. to this purpose you can book the hotel direct and not through Thomson's, that way you can book the rooms Thomson's say you cant book, the nice ones that TUI try and snap up for German family's (2 rooms and 2 bathrooms) ohhh and did I mention that they give a nice hefty discount to returning guests bet you wont find that in a Thomson's brochure.
Ok we spent 2 wonderful weeks here, yes the entertainment is cr@p German animation team who mime everything including talking parts in their own language on most occasions. go with this in mind and as we did, laugh your head off. At the end of the day this is Greece not England, there are other people in this world with different expectations of a holiday. If you want everything to be English book Center Parks and stay here it'll cost you 4 times the money, you wont have much in the way of sunshnie, you stand a greater chance of getting food poisoning but at least everything will be in English.

The Hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly. You could not fault the food at all there was plenty of choice for everyone. The cocktails were really nice and they weren't watered down.
The pool was great you could walk straight into it.
There is a lovely breeze all the time which makes the hot weather more bearable.
The rooms spotless and the bus service to Rhodes Towns is excellent.
The only fault with the hotel is the entertainment which was German orientated which made the British Children feel left out.
As soon as we arrived back home we booked again for 2005.

Got back yesterday, a fantatastic hotel, lovely helpful staff, great food, but there is a problem ...... this hotel is 50% owned by the TUI group, and the Guests are 89% German. This becomes evident when the entertainment begins, the daytime entertainment is in german, the afternoon entertainment is in german, the evening entertainment is in german and the kids club is funny enough in german. Predictably this percentage of German guests causes unfortunalty causes a bit of friction i.e sunbeds being reserved at 11PM at night, games of waterpolo turned in to major tournaments. The Germans do not leave the hotel as it is all inclusive and seem unable to spend any money in any of the local bars.
The staff are excellent and still manage to smile even though nobody except the minorites thank them. The pools when you can get near them are out of this world, the beach in the next bay along is fantastic 1.50

The hotel was excellent, staff very polite and the cleanliness was first class. Food was brilliant too good infact, ate all day long. The rooms were clean and sufficient for our needs, clean towels every day and our sheets were changed three times in the week we were there.
The surrounding area is a bit desolate only a few shops for tacky souvenirs.
The biggest complaint I had were the Germans. Everything on the entertainment side was based around them. British children were not welcome at the day and evening entertainment. All announcements were spoken in German with a few English words thrown in for good measure. We spent all our evenings in the top lounge being waited on hand and foot, with the Thomsons staff (bless them) trying their hardest, or as best as they could to make us feel wanted!!!
If the British were catered for better then this would be a first class hotel to visit.
By the way you have to get up early to get one of the very uncomfortable beds!!!

What a lovely hotel. The staff at this hotel from the manager to the pool boy are some of the nicest you will find. It would be easier to say what is not available to eat rather than what is. The variety is mega.
The pool area is beautiful and clean, it has various water jets and a large jaccuzzi. The beach is not up to much but worth having a swim in the sea as it is much warmer than the pool. A day at the beach also gives you a lie in as you do have to be up very early if you want a sunbed by the pool.
Entertainment well, if you like bingo and a quiz then your fine, because thats all there is in English. The rest of the entertainment is in German and the British are NOT allowed to join in. I was told by the Thomson rep that this was due to insurance. The entertainment for the German children is wonderful they all seemed to be having so much fun. Although it really is very sad to watch the British children watching them when they have been told they cannot join in. The thomson childrens reps were very good with the few resorces they had.
It says in the brochure exclusive to Thomson It should also say 80% exclusive to TUI which is German.

I would just to follow up on my fellow reviewers coments, I am not upset about sharing my holiday with germans,I would quite happily go to Germany on holiday, but I went to Greece.
I work in a German bank I understand the culture, however when I made the booking it was not made clear the percentage of German guests in the hotel, it was not just the English who had a problem with the entertainment it was the Italians and the poles who did not understand.
The Atalantica hotel group is 49% owned by the TUI, my bank owns them....

Hotel Cleanliness: Very clean throughout spot on.
Hotel Rooms: Although spacious and clean our room like all Thomson british guests was inside the main building which has no air conditioning until July, so it was extremely uncomfortable, particularly with an infant.
Hotel Food: On a two week cycle, so never the same thing twice, lots of variety and a seperate childrens buffet. So no complaints there.
Hotel Location: Middle of notalot. Other than its near to the beach, not much else can be said, if you don't drive abroad.
Poolside: Was quite suprised that poolside they were playing the uncut version of 50 cent rap music with F this and that whilst the kids were about. After I complained they switched it off, I guess the Germans didn't understand it!
Entertainment: Like others have pointed out there was no entertainment provided other than for the Germans. The rep was keen to point out in the brochure it states its for international guests (so whats a British person in Greece if they are not an international guest!) As a former Thomsons group employee I urged the rep to cut the company cover up, and provide an alternative, which was the start of once a week bingo. Fortunately we met a english speaking German couple who translated a lot of the entertainment for us in the second week which was quite funny. As a stroke of luck they were friends with members of the animation team, who then took us out in their hire car. If it wasn't for them our holiday would have been a disaster as theres not much else going on nearby.
The Germans are not all bad, same as us really, it's just the odd one or two that let the side down.
