we only went into center of Kolymbia twice as it was to far away. the taxi were over charging, they had to be ordered at reception, only when you were to use them. Could not book in advance.

The resort is small, with only a few bars and tourist shops. It's clean and friendly and, best of all, there are no pressure sales people. The beach is lovely, but there are more pebbles than sand. There is also another small beach by the fishing harbour. It's a nice place with easy access to other resorts. We'll definitely return.

The resort is the hotel, really. There are a few shops near the hotel but they aren't great.
A word of advice - take sea shoes! The beach is rocky.

The locals were great but everything was starting to shut down.
The litter abounds round the resort which is offputting and spoils the scenery.

Kolymbia beach is a mixture of sand and shingle. The locals were friendly but cannot comment on the entertainment.

The resort is ok. The beach is lovely and there were some fantasic parts for snorkelling. You do however have to pay for the sunbeds. The resort outside was very under developed. Luckily we were all inclusive and their were lots of us so we weren't fussed. We didnt go on any of the expensive trips. We just hopped on a bus or taxi and found our own way around. The locals are very helpful and it is much cheaper! We had a great time and would visit again!

The hotel was not part of a resort, but situated just outside Kolymbari a small town to the left of the hotel. There is a small shop a short walk from the hotel, which did have a fairly good range. There are a few small taverns to the right of the hotel which deserve a visit. If you are looking for a quiet stay then this is the place to go.

The resort of Kolymbia consists of no more than a few bars and shops but as the hotel is so good this isnt really a problem.
However if you choose not to take up the all inclusive option you may find your choice of bar a little limited. Before we went I read that The best bar was Memories but we went there one night and after having an inferior cocktail that bore no resemblance to what it should have been we chose not to return. Statues is a lively bar and Zorbas is okay. We thought the best bar was situated closest to the hotel, this was called The Oasis bar and was usually empty! This is a well designed bar with loud music and a good atmosphere but for some reason everyone chooses to walk past it and go to Memories! On the whole Koymbia is adequate but lacks a centre and the bars are little more than a load of chairs dumped in an open space!! The beach is part sand and shingle/stone but the water is beautifully clear. We used to sit on the grassy bank and go to the beach for a swim then return to our beds. You will need beach shoes or flip flops as the sand gets hot and the stones hurt! You will have to get up early if you want a sunbed as we were told that they had all gone by seven thirty! Even though all the towels are the same Thomson Gold!! Hardly any stripey blue ones that are the German travel companies!! Thats a another myth dismissed!! Rhodes town is amazing and you must go there at night its like walking into disneyland!! The old town is within the medieval walls. Another must see is Lindos. The tiny winding streets are fascinating and even better at night apparently although the last bus comes back at half past three, thats why we never made it at night. Rhodes is lovely and the hotel is excellent. One of the best I have ever been to. You will love it but if you are allergic to children please choose a child free hotel as I got fed up with hearing people moaning and it would put me of going to another Thomson Gold. We love kids!!
