We had room 317 overlooking the sea. The rooms are not large but adequate and the cleaning staff were excellent.

Was our first time to Rhodes and loved every minute of it , the people are very polite, there is no hard sell to get you into restaurants or bars or shops. There is plenty to do and see , the harbour , and old town , the acropolis of rhodes, not much for children other then the pool or beach, which is quite stoney and rough . We used the Tivoli Bar which has a very relaxed atmosphere, the owners Mike and Anna are lovely people and make all welcome , especially children. We will return to the Island

We are talking about Rhodes Town, and as the islands capital, must surely set the standard. Entertainment, I didn't really look for, as all I want is lazy days, and a quiet drink or two in the evenings.
The beach is a bit of a let down, being composed of coarse sand and shingle, a little bit gritty and quite steeply shelving in the water.
I would definetly return, as there is so much to see and do here, from favourite bars to just window shopping.

Lovely beach with views to turkey across the water. The old town was lovely with good scenery and lots of shops.
You can pick up a good bargain but shop round for your duty frees.
Good restaurants nearby with lots of cheap food which we had to do as the food in our hotel was bad.
Would go tro the resort again as there is lots to do and bus services are frequent and cheap.

Rhodes Town old and new has much too offer. The old town so picturesque and full of history, the new town with more modern facilities, and with it more night life.Taverns bars etc galore which would appeal to most tastes. It was never too brash or loud and found the locals to be polite and well mannered. The ports are a lively and pretty with many streetside cafes, great for people watching. Many boat trips available ie Symi,Marmaris and many others.Book independant of tour operators and save yourself some cash.Oh! the beaches here are more pebbly than sandy and there is an amazing wind which cools you down on the west side of Rhodes old town which i suspect would be most grateful in the months of July and August.Would definately revisit,

My first encounter of Rhodes Town was by the harbour and a timeshare tout trying to con me which he failed in an embarrasing way.
The shops had closed on Saturday afternoon until the Monday so there wasn't much to do in the area we stayed but we did have a nice meal and a drink in a small bar where the people were superb and very welcoming.
As it was our honeymoon the 13 nights in Lindos were superb and given the choice would choose Lindos anytime. We are going back to Lindos in May 2008 for our first wedding anniversary and have booked one night in a better hotel in Rhodes Town to give it another chance.

I think there is something for everyone in Rhodes Town. I absolutely loved it. There is the culture, amazing restuarants, lovely beach, good shops, a couple of nightclubs (we didn't venture into these!)......We had some of the best cocktails ever tasted in Rhodes. We went on a great train ride (always busy). The beach directly in front of our hotel was nice, but very windy (they call it windy beach!), but just around the corner it was just as nice and no wind. The historical sites in Rhodes Old Town are the best I've seen anywhere! Brilliant! There is an aquarium which is cheap and good to have a wander round. We had one rainy day and did this on that day. Blue Lagoon Pirate Bar is brill and the drinks are lovely. I can imagine kids would like it in there. There is a pool in the bar and parrots flying around! We did a boat trip to Lindos which was long, but worth it. The Lindos Acropolis is worth a visit and the beaches are lovely.
I LOVE RHODES

Some of the pavements are poor they need resurficing due to trip hazzards, The street lighting is very dim which adds to the problem.
The beach wasn't very nice a bit rocky and shingley and small.
Plenty to do out and about.

Can't tell you much about the island as we chose a relaxing holiday & didn't do much travelling around, but Rhodes Town is just gorgeous.
Well, Old Town that is.
It's amazing, a maze of narrow streets, leading to bustling little squares, we found new streets everytime we went for a stroll.
I've honestly never been anywhere prettier in all my life, would recommend to anyone.
Temperatures in August were around 33 degrees, but there was a very welcoming breeze which kept everything bearable.
It's definitely more a scandanavian resort. Not many English / Irish to be seen or heard!!!!
The beach is just pebble, so not that great, but the water is lovely & warm, there's plenty of watersports to do & lots of sunloungers, so I guess it depends on what you're after.
We found a gorgeous restaurant that was so good we went 3 times!! I can't remember it's name. It's wasn't called Olympia, but something like that.
It's just off to the left of Socratous St, & directly across from Romeos restaurant.
I had Soutzoukakia & Stifado (2 traditional Greek dishes) there & it was gorgeous.
We went to Lindos, quite picturesque, the acropolis (€6) is quite nice, but it's very warm, plus there's a nice beach.
We went to the water park (€20ea for adults), pleasant day out.
Went to Turkey for a day. Rep was charging €90 each per adult, we booked it down at the harbour for €45 each (including the port tax)
A courtesy bus picks you up in Marmaris (Turkey), they bring you to a Gold Centre, to the bazaar, to a carpet shop & to a Turkish Delight factory.
If you enjoy shopping, then the new town is full of all the big designer named shops.
