We had room 317 overlooking the sea. The rooms are not large but adequate and the cleaning staff were excellent.

Resort was ok but as it's the capital it's busy & over the top, geared to tourists i.e shops, bars & cafes all over the place, but good for transport & if you want everything at hand.
Harbour was nice but again in the evening people selling tickets for next day trips from every boat & cafe / bar owners trying to get you in whilst passing.
Some nice places just outside of town 10/15 min bus 5/10 min taxi to nice coves, beaches with 1 little bar for cool drinks & snacks.
Rhodes beach is shingle with oil patches that caused us to bin towels.
Would go back to Rhodes but to stay in Lindos or south east resorts.

There is plenty to do and see in Rhodes town, the walk into the old town is fascinating with all the quaint shops bars and restaurants.
People very friendly.
The beach is shingle but still pleasant to go on and the sunbeds and brollies very reasonable to hire, you need shoes to get into sea through the shingle but well worth it as the sea is brilliant, plenty of snack bars on beach which are reasonable and friendly.
Some geat places to visit from Rhodes town like Symi and Lindos both well worth the visit, cheaper to book your own in town and at the harbour boat trips are excellent and some good bargains if you shop around.

Rhodes is a lovely town with something for everyone. The Old Town is beautiful with plenty of designer bargains. The new town has good shops. Plenty of bars and the locals are great.

Rhodes Town is pretty much like most Greek places you visit on Holiday, we did a Boat trip to Lindos as everyone raved about it - very pretty but the one thing that made me very sad was to watch the Donkeys that go up and down them steep hills all day everyday carrying people. They are chained and tied to one another and i didnt see a bucket of water insight - If you love your animals like i do and you have been to Lindos then you will know what i mean!
We visited the 'Old Town' (about 15-20mins walk) and had a nice steak meal which cost us about 50 euros. It is a very nice and historic place - a must visit!
The Beach was 2 mins walk from our Hotel and we nicknamed it the 'windy' beach but believe me that wind was needed in August. Not a sandy beach but it is still quite comfortable. The cost of 2 beds with umbrella is 7 euros.

My stay in rhodes town was very good overall it was a very clean resort with lots of nice restaurants and shops, the entertainment in rhodes town was also very good with lots of lively bars also quiet ones which catered for all ages. The old town in rhodes is a must with all of its little shops and markets, this we found to be a very beautiful place.
The beach in Rhodes town wasnt very nice being known as "windy beach" this being self explanitory, the beach had no sand,it was shingle and pebble,so is not a place for beach lovers.
I would definately visit this resort again.

There is plenty to do in Rhodes Town and you can have a wild holiday or a quiet one as you wish. We went to “Bar Street” on one occasion and that is where the lively nightlife is. It was great fun but we’re past doing it every night! We also found some great restaurants very close to the hotel, although it has to be said that eating out is not cheap in Greece anymore. It cost us around 50 – 60 euros for a two-course meal and a bottle of wine. You will not be short of things to do if you stay here. You can shop ‘til you drop (leather and jewellery is great value), party ‘til the early hours or just chill out completely.
The Old Town is also worth a visit as it is so pretty with lots to see and do. Be warned though, it is popular and therefore very busy and more expensive for food and drink as a result.
We found that making our own holiday arrangements was well worthwhile. Package holidays to our hotel and similar were priced at around £650 per person per week with dreaded night flights the only option. We booked flights that had much more convenient arrival and departure times and then hunted around for the best price for our hotel. Doing this got us the same deal for £400 each. Also, get your sun cream when you arrive as prices are much cheaper than here, e.g. we found 200 ml of factor 20 top brand sun cream for 6.50 euros at the top of bar street.

We found the resort to be nicely varied and interesting if not overly Greek. The fact it is a capital means it loses some of its local feel, obviously. Those looking for a typical Greek village atmosphere will be disappointed. The town has some great shops (why so many umbrella shops?) including designer and jewellers.
The restaurants and bars are varied too. Bar street not the longest in the world and certainly not Faliraki but adequate! Plenty of typical British style places with photos of food outside and peach coloured padded wicker chairs... Also a lovely street with several good locl style restaurants and more upmarket bars.
The old town is pretty at night (Don't wear high heels, cobbles lethal) with some nice restaurants and bars although the shops are all pretty similar and slightly more expensive than in the new town. Shops are general tourist ones, leather, jewellers and more tacky souvenirs!
The beach near our hotel was nice. Shingle. Lounders with Brollies were three Euros fifty for the day. The sea was a little wold resulting in my partners still sore shoulder after being thrown on beach off lilo by sea...

Rhodes Town is a busy, bustling town with a beautiful harbour, it has a lively night life in the new town particularly down Bar Street for the young at heart and more traditional bars and restaurants for those who prefer quieter evenings in the Old Town.
There are watersports available but the best are definately in Falaraki along with bungee junping etc. This is definately where all the fun is to be had but maybe a bit wild for us!

The Petit Palais is exactly a resort as such, but the hotel was excellent, the pool facilities were always clean and the marble always gleaming.
The beach was a stone throw away and again extremely clean.

Great resort with good mix of culture and history and plenty to see and do.
