Troulos is a great little resort which feels like a sprawling country village. There is a small centre to the village with shops and excellent tavernas and restaurants. A lot of the accommodation is found on hillsides or in the middle of fields accessed by dirt tracks! However, for anyone looking for a peaceful holiday this is an ideal place. There is a couple of music bars for anyone wanting something a bit livelier and lots of quiet bars where you can relax with a drink. Access to Skiathos town and the lively nightlife is easy with regular buses and taxis which will stop and try to entice you into them. you can often barter the fare down! Troulos is a very clean resort with very little of the rubbish dumped that you sometimes see in other medditteranean resorts. The beach is immacculate with plenty of sunbeds which are surprisingly well spaced apart. The beach is soft sand and the bay is very gently shelving and safe for swimming.
Troulos is an ideal base if you like walking too. Koukanaries is a 25 minute walk and the Asselinos valley and Panagia Kounistra monastery are also reasonably close and can be reached in around one hour. Troulos is a lovely resort and one i have visited twice. I am looking to make my third visit before too long!

I like Troulos, and yet can't really explain why. There is a small amount of new construction work underway, but no work was taking place whilst we were there.
We find Troulos very clean, there are plenty of places to eat, a choice of 4 or 5 supermarkets and a couple of bars that are lively.
A trip to Skiathos town costs €1.40 on the bus, avoid going between 5:00 and about 8:30 as the buses are packed with people returning from the beaches at Koukounaries. The last bus from Skiathos town leaves at 1:30 in the morning during July, August and September.
We like Troulos beach, but prefer little Banana as it is quieter. It is about a ten minute walk, signposted, from the last bus stop at Koukounaries.It costs €1.10 to get there from Troulos. An umbrella and two sunbeds on most beaches will cost €8. Efforts are made to keep all the beaches clean, it is a pity that some of those that visit don't make the same effort.
We will definitely return again, perhaps not next year, as there are other Greek islands we would like to see. But there is something about Skiathos in general that tends to draw people to return time and time again. If I ever work out what it is I will let you know.

Very clean, no entertainment, the island of Skiathos is very small, therefore if you rented a car you could pretty much visit the majority of the island which is beautiful. I would recommend Koucounaries beach and Banana beach. If you get a chance go over to downtown, in the evening after dinner as it is wonderful. We also took the day trip to Athens, Greece which I highly recommend.

The resort is fairly basic and with most of the islands apartments a family run concern, the gardener keeps the grass nice and the flower beds were pretty. Pool area kept nice but a lot of wasps about. No resort entertainment but the bar ept open as long as you keep drinking but dont expect Dimitri up early the next day! The beach was beautiful apart from an adventurous climb via the steep rough path very scary, but acces is possible by the shop 1/4 mile down the road. Sunbeds costs varied go to the busier end and it was cheaper! about 5 euros for the day few water sports available few resteraunts and a little shop so a quiet resort at Trolous. Beware the mozzies!!!!!

fantastic place , no shops unless you go to main town but that suits us. who wants to shop on holidays,Went into main town only once,. Total chill out, not a lot to see, but how a holiday should be. fantastic bus service as there is only 1 road and bus stops are froim num 1-25 if I remember right. each village is known by the bus stop. Met loads of nice people. Back this year!

The resort of Troulos is very quiet with a small supermarket at bus stop 20 which is a short downhill walk from the apartments.
There are several restaurants scattered down the main road .
The bus sevice is excellent and runs every 20 minutes up until about 1 in the morning.
We visited banana beach at bus stop 24 which was great for the kids but there is also a nudist beach located nearby and the occasional body would take a stroll on the main beach so beware!!!
Skiathos town was very nice and we are hoping to go back again soon.

Koukanaries is outstanding esp Banana Beach, where you can now drive carefully down the trail & park (for older people)-need assistance going up to hold up pedestrians-
everyone v friendly on Beach - sun is extreemely hot (and windy)-a nice beach tent w sandbags is a good idea..
Take a towel to identify yr Home Nudist Club ??

This bay i thought was the best on the island as it had everything and was also quiet too!!! Theres only really one main road through the islad and the buses run often enough. Dont get caught out late at night thoug as the taxi's are very busy and the last bus will be so crammed you might not get on it.

The resort is very clean, and tidy and is well laid out although it may not be to everyones liking as it is spread out down two roads but it has a good choice of bars, restaurants and tavernas (6 bars,7 retaurants and about 8 tavernas) there is even a karaoke bar if the need really takes you!!
All the locals are really friendly and are very laid back and un assuming.
We went to this resort last year and liked it so much we returned this year.
We will be going back again as long as we can.
We have spoken to other people whilst on holiday in
Skiathos who say they have been returning for 5,6,7,8, even as long as 14, 15 years.

The resort of Troulos is quite tame, only a main road that goes through it, no such centre, few bars and restaurants but quite alot was shut or shutting up, we wished there had been a bit more to do so found ourselves going by bus each day to Skiathos town which was alot busier, but again, even the town was shutting up, don't go in October !
