First visit to Silver Sands. Stayed in the old block and these rooms very much need an updating. Would have liked to have upgraded to a room in the new block which are beautiful but were all allocated to First Choice guests. There are bungalows but they are not much better inside than the older rooms, plus everyone has to walk past your terrace to leave hotel or go to reception so not much privacy.

Breakfast was basic but you could order extras from the menu for very little cost.

Rooms were cleaned regularly and towels and bedding changed almost daily.

Staff were friendly and very helpful.

Excellent location, just a few minutes from the beach.

Would definitely go back but would stay in the new block.

First time in Candolim, Silver Sands was the perfect location 2 mins to the beach and plenty bars and restaurants round the corner.

We stayed in the superior rooms {yellow block} clean but still a smell of sewage.

All staff very friendly especially Ajay and Pintu ate there twice on an evening very slow and wrong food when it eventually came so wouldn't eat there again but for the location and staff would definitely return

Stayed at Silversands Holiday resort 09/12/06 to 24/12/06 Can't wait to go back.......It was absolutely fabulous.

Stayed in the Superior rooms which included satelite t.v / fridge/air conditioning as standard.(They also do basic accomodation (no aircon or tv or fridge. Bungalows are also available with aircon which l did look at but the superior rooms are by far the best.

Without a doubt the best thing about this complex is the location being only 3 minutes walk from Candolim beach and the same to all the restaurants .

It was truly the best holiday me and my husband have had.

The food was absoulutely fantastic with all the choice of restaurants not forgetting the unbelievable value they are offering you can eat for as little as

Silver Sands is a pretty decent and standard holiday resort. The room was smart and clean when we arrived but we didn't see a cleaner once when we were there.

We were the second bungalow in on the right and had to listen to loud music until 4am and then listen to banging and building work from 8am. Fun fun fun.

Location is superb although Candolim has been bastardised by the English and is not a true reflection of Goa. It is also expensive as Goa goes and it's worth getting out and about. Candolim is well located near the capital Panjim (Panaji) and the party villages of Ajunda, Vagator and Chapora.

My brother stayed in a small single room in the main 'complex' and his room was clean and tidy although his toilet didn't flush and the bathroom stunk of excrement. He had a poor view but did have a small balcony. He didn't hear any of the noise.

The swimming pool looked nice but I didn't use it as the sea is in such close proximity and is always warm and clean.

I wouldn't go back because I don't like package holidays and I like to sleep on my holidays. I also like a cleaner, if only once. But I can see why other people would come back.

Silver sands is great! great location and great staff!

Me and my friend stayed for one week from 10/12/06 - 17/10/06. We stayed in a bungalow which faced the swimming pool!

The rooms are basic in the bungalows, but very clean! We saw a cleaner whilst we were there, you have to leave your key at recetion and they come in the room everyday. I think the towels and bed linen was changed ont he wednesday.

In the bungalows you get your bed, linen, towels, wardrobe and bathroom, which is all you need!

The staff are great, cant do enough for you. You can phone to reception and they also bring you drinks/food to your room if you are feeling lazy!

I would definatley stay here again without any doubts.

I have stayed in the Silver Sands Hotel for the third year running. The hotel is very basic but clean and comfortable. As I expected the breakfast wasn't upto much but for the price you pay its not a problem to eat on the beach.

The staff are very helpful and will do anything to make your stay as memorable as they can.

The Silver Sands hotel is in a fantastic location and close to the beach and some lovely restaurants.

The Silver Sands was quite a basic hotel and there was building work going on while we were there, but the staff where so helpful, it didn't effect us at all, the breakfast didn't amount to much just tea n toast, but everything is so cheep you can live like lords and eat whatever you like.

The locals are the friendliest people I have had the pleasure to meet while on holiday. I would definitely go back!

Been to this hotel 3 years running at this time of year. Very quiet (only us in the hotel).

There is building work at the hotel going on but disruption is minor - no noise.

We stayed in the bungalows - these are highly recommended and would willing pay the extra to upgrade. That said the new rooms are equally as nice. The beds all have brand new THICK mattresses. These should be finished by end of November.

The staff are very friendly and always willing to help.

The location is at the bottom of Beach Road, within easy walking distance from the beach (5mins at most) and a variety of restuarants, shops and bars very close by. We had a wheelchair and found excess to be adequate. The hotel does not have lifts and there are stairs to soom rooms.

There was no entertainment in the hotel.

Food service is a little slow but is always freshly prepared.

The hotel is located just 50m from the beach and away from the main drag of restaurants and bars so reasonably quiet although near by there is a karaoke bar which was a bit noisy some evenings for a while.

Our first room was a dark dingy cell with two single beds and broken furniture, it was inundated with insects, was hot and dark with broken sockets and an inadequate shower-this is located on the ground floor of the main hotel block facing the back. We went to reception and asked if a bungalow was available and were assisted with a move by the room boys who were pleasant and friendly throughout. The bungalow was simply furnished with wardrobe and table. It had a good shower and hot and cold water The beds though were hard and back crunching.

There is a small pool which needs a good clean and inadequate sunbeds but it was a pleasant area.

Breakfast was a joke the waiting staff would rather stand about a read the paper than serve your 3 slices of hard toast and when on day 3 we complained about an uncooked boiled egg they didn't speak to us for the rest of the holiday! This put us off using the hotel restaurant for lunch or dinner.

Best feature of the hotel was the adjoining Beach shack-CEU MAR just a 5 minute walk away and breakfast could be taken there. The staff here were brilliant and friendly,
a perfect place to watch the sunset.

You have to pay quite a considerable extra amount for air conditioning and a fridge which is needed in March as the nights are hot These added

Second stay at Silver Sands but not been there for about 6 years.

The mattresses are still hard, and breakfast is still a joke - however the pool was spotless and the hotels own restaurants including the Sheetal are some of the best in candolim - I have been visiting for ten years.

My grandson who is three and father is Goan was treated fantastically by the staff and we all had a good time

We do not need entertainment as there is plenty to do in Candolim - also the beach is very close.

We left in April and although very hot the fans in the rooms were adequate/don't like air conditioning anyway -

This is a basic hotel in an excellent position and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a beach holiday.

We used the pool early each morning and returning from the beach where we ate in a shack for breakfast and lunch - splash shack.

Hotel is clean basic and staff very friendly
