Returned today from our first visit to goa. The bedroom stewards were a great bunch of young men, room cleaned every day, rooms very basic and beds in need of some soft matressess. only had breakfast in hotel twice as it took nearly an hour to get 3 slices of cold hard toast.

We weren't told that we had to pay for air conditioning until after the first week. We had no hot water for 2 days then none at all for 2 days. And no apology was made from reception staff just a shrug. No one seemed to be in charge.

No entertainment but was not a problem. The fact hotel is small lovely atmosphere between guests. The view from some of the rooms was overlooking a grey concrete jungle not very inviting to sit on the balcony.

Second time we have stayed at this hotel, wish we hadn't bothered, hotel has gone downhill.

Waiters not very helpful at all as when you ask for your breakfast you would get some of it in dribs and drabs, never all at once and when anything you ordered, arrived it was cold so in the end we never ate there at all.

Thought Silversands was extension to Battersea dogs home the amount of dogs running around restaurant, with no reaction from waiters. Beware of hidden costs that are not explained until you leave.

Brilliant holiday, lovely people great weather.

Will we go back to Candolim (Yes.) To Silversands (Never).

Our second visit to Goa and not the last! First time at Silver Sands and a very warm welcome by Lorena on reception.

Our room was on the first floor in the main block overlooking the courtyard to the rear. The fruit bats are very entertaining at dusk!

Comfy clean room no fridge though which is needed for some cool water and tonic for the gin, fridge payable at extra cost.

Didn't bother with the A/C as the ceiling fans adequate. Room boys excellent and sleep rooftop under the stars! Don't breakfast at hotel but go across the coir mat to Silversands beach shack "Ceu Mar" and just give them your room number and watch the dolphins at sea whilst you eat!

Ajay and Sam the waiters there were great and put together Food for twelve and an excellent beach firework display for my husband and a friends Birthdays. A great holiday here and met some lovely people.

Would definitely stay here again, our friends were at Highland Beach( too far from the beach for us)and our other friend now on his 33rd Goan stay, stayed at Pretty Petals just around the corner from Silversands.

Location excellent! a bit of noise from the sports bar on footie nights but not unbearable. First choice airlines more roomy with TV screens on backs of seats.

I have stayed at Silver Sands four times in the past 10 years of visiting Goa. I love this hotel-it is simple and basic but,it is not a noisy hotel.

It has a small pool but, big enough for a swim and a chat with other guests. I would stay here every visit but, I make myself try other hotels!

There are cottages in the groundsthat you can request to stay in but, these can be hot in April!
I recommend this hotel.

Small, friendly, basic 2 star hotel.
Enjoyed every minute of our 2 week stay here. Staff could not have been any more helpful and friendly.
Rooms are very basic but were cleaned every day, fresh linen and towels every other day.
Food was fantastic good choice of Indian, Goan and Chinese also English food available.
Located a short walk off a very busy High St, but in a much quieter area just a 5 minute walk to the beach.
Not much in the way of entertainment, a weekly singer, but that suited us just fine, if you want more life you can find it in the High St. Although some of the waiters were very entertaining and we have made some friends of them. We will definately return next year for 3 weeks. Best holiday ever! Not really suitable for families as not much for kids. Ideal for couples who want a quiet relaxing holiday.

Excellent Hotel. Small and friendly with easy access to the beach close by. This is the third time we have stayed at Silver Sands and shall be returning again. Not really suitable for children. Mainly older couples looking for a peaceful time.

Clean sheets and soft towels every other day. Room cleaned every day.

Last year was the 3rd successive year we have stayed at the Silver Sands.

The Hotel is small which makes it easier to mix in with other guests and we have made some great friends through the hotel (including the staff).

The rooms are basic but clean and the location is ideal for the bars, restaurants and beach. Not really suitable for kids which is why we go there.

Looking forward to our 4th visit on the 6 dec 05.
