Had a great time in St Julians, but it definitely is a young persons resort. It was still lively even at the end of September, so I should imagine in summer it's very busy.

I would recommend if you're a family, finding somewhere else to stay but for a young couple/group of mates it's perfect.

St Julians, by La Vallette resort is not very nice, it is full of bars and broken bottles. If you walk 5 minutes to Spinola Bay you get a much better image of Malta. There is a man main beach but the best beach is on the other side of the island. Resturants are very good.

Our nearest 'resort' was St. Julian. To get there from our hotel we had to pass through Paceville, very noisy but very well policed. The restaurants and bars in Spinola Bay, St. Julian were without exception excellent and the people were very friendly. We had some wonderful meals. The beach at St. Georges bay is very clean and well patrolled. The only bugbear were the taxis - for a short trip, we could walk it in ten minutes but it was uphill - we were asked for 6 ml or 15 euro, we declined. We finally settled on 10 euro. We spoke to a local guy and he said the taximen refused to put on their meters so the locals never used them.

The resot itself is a lively area. Often the following morning you have to tread carefully, the result of the previous night. There is a lovely shopping centre and there are some excellent restaurants. Naomis and the Pagoda are two of the best. The Avenue may get good reviews but do shop around as there are better places to eat. Memories pub is a lovely little bar. The locals are friendly and will go out of their way to help you. The local buses are an experience. Once you move away from the Paceville area there is a lovely walk along the promenade to Sliema which takes about 25 minutes. If you like lively nights then this resort is definitely for you but it is not a family resort.

The resort was very clean of rubbish but was very dusty, the bars and pubs were not child friendly so entertainment was very limited.

The beach was a half hours bus journey away which is inconvenient if the weather turns bad, however there were plenty of places to eat and the sunbed hirer man was pleasant and keen to help. Ice creams were excellent also.

The builders from the beach being erected in St Julians were rude yelling things and wolf whistling whenever you passed. I would not visit this resort again because I prefer lively environments.

I loved Malta.

We found the prices a bit on the high side but all in all Malta was a great place to visit.

We arived and there was no beach in the resort, but by the time we left there was a newly formed beach, this should be really nice now!

I would recomend Malta for people who would like a change from Spain.
