Cleanliness not too bad.
Nightlife in St Julians very good, in particular a club which played R'n B.
Beach not very good as it is all rocky pebbled beaches.

The resort of St.Juliens is good for all age groups. There is lots of night life for the young.
Good beach in St.Georges bay for the children, lovely promenade walks towards Slemia and good shopping for all types of needs ie: gifts, groceries and Clothing.
The bus services are good and buses run to all parts of the island from this area.

Don't go here if you have really young kids as there will be nothing for them to do and you'll be wishing you were out enjoying the party with the rest of us (trust me)
Come here if you want a comfortable base to get a few hours sleep and get ready to enjoy what else the island has to offer which is a vast amount of history and culture (yes i am into this too i'm not just a drinker). There are some great bars around this area like the Bamboo bar (not as good as it once was but still great) Axis a great pop night club. the Black Bull (where else could you ask for a pint of orange juice and lemonade and get a pint of both!) and many many more.
I'm looking forward to reading more of your grumbles and laughing at what is obviously bad travel advice you've been getting from your travel agent and if you go and are enjoying yourself say hi to me as i'll be the guy with the biggest grin on my face as i'm in love with the country.

Malta is a great place to visit.
People are very welcoming.
Lots more than simply a beach holiday.
Trip to gozo was interesting but not all it is made out to be. Be ware of pushy traders and shop keepers on gozo.

resort is very dirty smelly and generally run down.the resort has no beech to speak of but you can swim in the sea off the rocks. This resort is more suited to 18-25 who want to get drunk every night and sleep during the day as it has more than its fair share of bars
