Ask for a room on the top floor as these get the sun & are handy for drying things on your balcony

Very clean, given that 2 weeks before hand a hurricane had touch the resort.Beach was clean, sea was warm just the way we had imagined it to be .Entertainment needs working on,and check small print on flyer for Spa treatment as the 10% tax is stated very small on the flyer , which almost caught us out when we came to pay after a very relaxing sunrise beach massage.

We visited Playa Del Carmen, and Gozumel, and Isle of Largos. All were clean, you were approached to enter shops, but not hassled. There were no Time Share people. Excellent value for money especially as the £ was £2 for $1. Bought everything in dollars as it was half price.

The hotel was in the middle of nowhere so you really are stuck there although they do have a shuttle bus to cancun in the day and Playa del carmen in the evening. These are only minibus size and you have to book for them do this well in advance coz these can be lifesavers!!. I was dissapointed that there was no trip to cancun in the evening. There is only really one bar thats open till 2pm and well that's worth going too. The guacamaya bar is like the disco but its the same every evening. Be warned if you are a partygoer this hotel is not for you. it was relaxing and it was worth the money i would go back there maybe in a couple of years time.

Excellent beach but if you want a cabana sun bed (most comfortable) you have to be on the beach by 06.30.
There is not enough room to sit and watch the entertainment in the evenings as they have a very small stage.
Gardens were lovely and well maintained but the constant piped music is very irritating as you can even hear in your room and they play the same tracks over and over again

I didn't see any of the organised daytime entertainment as it was all centred round the main pool. I was entertained daily with the americans. What a great people to spend time with, they are always on hand with a tale or two to tell.

Night time entertainment varied every night on a weekly rota. It was okay and throughout the week there are a couple of good shows. It starts at the same time every evening 9.30pm and 10.30pm.

The beach was very clean. The sea still has sand banks which some people complain about but it doesn't bother me. My only minor problem was the rocks at the oceanfront. Not comfortable going when you have no shoes on ready to swim in the sea, but never mind it's not the end of the world and not that bad if it's the only complaint i have about the holiday!!!

We travelled with My Travel, this has to be the worst cramped plane i have ever been on. I would not travel with them again unless there had room for us to upgrade! We stayed in this resort for a week. Next time it will be for 2.

We never looked properly around the mayan riveria as most activities were confined to the hotel, but we really enjoyed the holiday and would definitely go back!

You can still see signs of the devastation caused by the hurricane but within the perimeters of El Dorado Royale they have worked extremely hard to clean up the aftermath; and for the most part while inside the complex you would never know it had happened, although outside at the entrance/road area it is still a littlw "wild". As El Dorado sits at the side of the main road, on its own, you cannot go into a resort centre as such, but they (EL Dorado) run a free bus service to Cancum & Playa Del Carmen so thats ot a problem. The beach was spotlessly clean, early every morning we'd see men down cleaning the seaweed off the sand. The beach was red-flag though so no swimming was permitted which was a shame; although further up there were watersports available.

I can't fault this place, it was our first holiday in 9 years and Mexico just blew us away, I did my research and I couldn't have chosen a better place to stay!
buildings are two storey apartments along the beach, no lifts, very clean, the staff always wanted to clean them, I felt guilty some days letting the staff in to clean our rooms...we had to have two rooms as we took two teenagers with us! the rooms are air conditioned and the towels changed daily, you even got beach towels you just had to produce this card and you could change your beach towels as often as you wanted.
Entertainment staff were outstanding, they are so talented and energetic but if you didn't want to take part in anything you weren't pushed to.
The place is not loud, we never saw anyone drunk and everyone was happy and friendly!
the beach was spotless, beautiful white sand and is patrolled 24/7 because turtles come on to the protected beach at night, certain times of the year and lay their eggs.
this was our first time snorkelling WOW, so safe, warm, beautiful experience and once we found out were the turtles hang out we were swimming along side of them and I took my underwater camera with me and got great pics of them - you can't touch them though...not allowed!
the all inclusive was good, food was plentiful, clean, good variety and we are veggies so no complaints there!
Can't wait to take our grand-daughter in few years time!! Great for kids of all ages!
Only thing I would like to see in the rooms is tea/coffee making facilities...would make all the difference....but I can't fault the place for just that!

We didnt really stay in a resort, it was classed as the "Riviera Maya" which is a big area. The main thing was the beaches are not quite as good as we expected but I guess that was due to Hurricane Wilma.
