We arrived pretty early and so the rooms were not ready, unfortunately when we got our rooms we were in block z which was as far as it went and we were on the ground floor which was like a dungeon. the rooms were clean but the bathroom only had a shower tray that you could not turn around in and whilst showering you flooded the whole bathroom!, there was no storage either and the wardrobe door kept falling off!. As the two hotels Aquamarina and Adriana had merged the pool area for the aquamarina had no entertainment you had to walk to the other pool if you wanted to join in which was not ideal. the food was the same at lunch then at dinner, lasagne, pizza, chips etc and cold on most days, by day 4 we had had enough of the same old food and decided to try the restaurant at the Adriana which was a little better but like a cattle market! and agin most of the dishes were cold. I can honestly say that I would travel back to Portugal as it was stunning but would never ever go back to either of these hotels altough the staff mainly Ginja the bar man and Carlos or charlie to his friends were great and we would love to see them again if they worked in a different hotel.

we have just returned from this hotel, winter sun break. the hotal closes 6th november so guest numbers were low. thsi did not stop the hotel staff giving a really good service, happy, chatty and helpful.
the hotel is set on the cliffs with a wooden set of steps to the beach.( you will read this in all the brochures)
all inclusive food was good, snack bar not so, but if you eat 3 meals a day do you really need a snack bar?
entertainment wasn't good but it was the end of season.
lovely rooms and a good site.
seriously thinking about returning.

my wife and i were looking forward to a nice relaxing and enjoyable break and this hotel did not disappoint us. The location(20mins from albufeira)was beautiful perched on top of a cliff and the views were tremendous.this hotel shares it's site with it's sister hotel the Adriana and as a result we had the added bonus of enjoying all the facilities of both at no extra charge. We found the rooms spotless and cleaned daily with linen and towels replaced daily. The food was varied and very well presented and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant in the adriana. The staff were very friendly and always had a smile or a wave for you.all in all this complex had everything and even boasts it's own theatre which put on some very good shows while we were there. In conversation with other guests the kids club came in for special praise from the young families who thought it was one of the best they had encountered. In my opinion this hotel is perfect for couples looking a quiet relaxing break and young families. It would not suit 18-30 or people looking to party.the one negative was the access to the beach which was down some 90 steps, but the beach was well worth a visit. The hotel also lays on a free coach 4 times a day to albufeira for those looking to shop etc;I will certainly be back next year.

Smashing Hotel, village style accommodation, like small bungalows, defo not 4 star though!!
Cleanliness - good, maids friendly
Hotel Food - ok for our European counterparts, not good for 1yr old baby and very repetitive!!
Location - oh my god, even a taxi driver said we were "at the end of the world" otherwise known as in the middle of nowhere!! 20 min walk with baby buggy to "small" shop. 94 steps down to the beach!!! 15min & 15 euro taxi ride to Albufeira main strip!!
Entertainment - hellish!! not for English speaking people or kids.
All inclusive drinks, yuk!!

Aquamarina Beach Club. Food very much the same every day.
Entertainment for the English non existant.
Too remote for the less mobile guest. 94 steps to beach!!
Nice location but in the middle of nowhere. No shops or bars within walking distance. No bubble bath or shampoo supplied.
Only two English channels on TV - CNN News and sport.
No tea making facilities. No hairdryer.
Only good thing the drinks were strong!!
