We have just returned from a 7 Day Xmas Holiday at the Balai Atlantico and must say that we were disappointed in several areas:-
The Aparto Hotel was clean and well presented, the staff generally were very friendly and helpful although one female receptionist was on the verge of rudeness towards us, she seemed to have a problem with the English ? !!
Food generally was to a high standard, a bit bland tasting for us English perhaps but very varied with choice of 'hot' or cold food but the 'hot food' was luke warm often on cold plates which was not good and spoilt our dining experience, everyone from the UK were complaining about the temperature of the food, when we complained the staff offered to heat it up by microwave, I Dont Think So !!
Entertainment was fairly good, consisting of a very good pianist some nights and a keyboard/singer duo on other nights. Children would have been bored. Another problem we experienced was the Spanish children staying at the hotel were very noisy and badly behaved, parents weren't bothered about their disruption to other guests.
The hotel was a bit remote but ran a free mini bus into Albufeira four times a day and taxi's were fairly cheap so wasn't a problem getting out and about but consider hiring a car next time. I wouldn't go back to this hotel again.

We arrived at the hotel 4 hours earlier than the check in time stated and we were told this wasnt a problem and we could go straight to our apartment but our all inc would only start at noon which was fair enough.
We went to our apartment which was great the decor/layout were great the whole apartment was furnished to a high standard and there was everthing you could think of in the kitchen if you were self catering. The bathroom was great we had a balcony facing the pool and sea view to the left which got the sun from about 2pm until it set at around 6pm.
The main restaurant was very clean and the food was of a high standard, at lunch time due to there only being around 8 of us in the hotel all inc they gave us al a carte which was also great.
Breakfast was a good buffet hot and cold fruit cerials all drinks really set you up for the day.
The evening buffet was of a good standard too all hot and cold selections fresh veg and plenty to choose from. The only down side that may affect some people is that in off peak time the hotel entertainment is not that brilliant but this didnt bother us that much.
Also be prepared the Pool is very cold and you will need to be brave and just jump in!!!
The hotel also offers a free bus service around 6 times a day to four different places with the last stop being the old town which takes about 15/20 mins max. Taxis are also cheap if you want to get out of the hotel at night as this hotel as first seems to be a little on its own but when you leave and go to the main town it is not really that far.
