We booked this as a cheap, quick beak just for a week with friends and were a bit worried about what we would get as it was very reasonable.
When we arrived we were quickly checked in and shown to our apartments. We had booked 2 one bedroomed apartments and they were fantastic. Big, spacious, clean in fact we couldn't ask anymore, small kitchen area which was sufficient for making tea, toast, sandwich etc. Who wants to cook a big meal on holiday. There were two large sofas which would have been ideal had our 2 teenagers come with us. Large balconies and a decent bathroom.
We were very pleased with this. There were nice gardens but the pool was quite small, we didn't actually use it and I would imagine it would be a bit chaotic in peak season as not too many loungers. However there was a free shuttle bus to the beach which took 5 mins and we also walked it and that was pleasant and took 15mins or so, so we never even used the pool. The beach was amazing, massive, sandy, and clean and you could hire loungers or just use the sand. There were places to eat all along the beach which were all lovely.
The resort itself is small but has everything you need, nice restaurants, bars, shops just enough. The food prices were very reasonable we were pleasantly surprised how much money we brought home with us.
All in all a fab apartment and resort, would definitely go back in fact planning to go next year more than likely to same Apartments too.
Oh and the people are so friendly as well.

Before going to this hotel I had read reviews which made me expect the worst. The hotel unlike the reviews was absolutely spotless and for the cheap price of our accomodation the room was excellent. We were shocked to find that proper sofa beds were in the living room for 2 of our party and that the room was excellently equipped with a dresser and chair. The table in the kitchen was also unexpected as it was a proper dining set. Lots of storage space also in the living room which was great as there were people living there. The only fault with the room the shower which was very prone to falling off the wall. The kitchen also was a bit disappointing as there was no kettle so water had to be boiled in a pan taking ages as the hob is small and pans rather large. Also the lack of an oven was a little annoying. The staff were great when our toaster blew a fuse we reported it and the said we'd get a new one the next day. It actually arrived 10 mins later. The location of the hotel is rather out of the resort but what is most annoying are the rubbish pavements instead of the distance.

Mirachoro 2 apartments are situated next to a busy road and is in between Portimao and Praia da Rocha. Mirachoro 3 is not as near to the road but overlooks a skate park, which could get busy.
The 1 bedroom apartments themselves are very spacious with all the facilities you needed for self catering (fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave & 2 hobs). Even had a dining table and 2 huge sofas! Studio apartments are a lot smaller.
They are situated about 1.5 mile from Praia da Rocha, which takes a good 20 minutes to walk to. The hotel does provide a free courtesy bus 4 times a day to Praia da Rocha and Portimao. The Modelo supermarket is a good 10 minute walk and is uphill back to the apartments, which is a nightmare when carrying 2 x 5 ltr bottles of water in blazing sun!! I would recommend shopping in Praia da Rocha and catching the bus back - much easier!!
Likes about the hotel:-
Large, spacious rooms if opt for 1 bedroom apartment.
Fantastic self catering facilities.
Bath as well as shower.
Free courtesy bus to the resort centre.
Library for books good idea.
Hotel cat absolutely gorgeous, if you like cats.
Great value for the money paid.
Dislikes about the hotel:-
Cleanliness not the best in the world
and linen not changed as often as you'd expect.
Bar food absolutely awful and expensive.
Pool very small and most of sunbeds in sun are taken.
Location poor unless you like doing a lot of walking every day or don't mind being limited by the bus times or catching taxis. We're a reasonably fit couple in our 30's and it took us a good 20 minute to walk to the beach in the blazing sun!!
Staff not very friendly and unhelpful.
Entertainment is mostly karaoke, which is fine if you like that kind of thing.
Noise from road. We were on the 1st floor next the road which was very busy all times of the day, especially the scooters!
Balcony was not in sun because of the trees that overshadowed it.
Overall, for value for money it's good if you just want a place to sleep but if you're looking for that bit extra with good food, good location and entertainment I would recommend staying in a different hotel.
Definitely not suited for families or those with disabilities.
