Can't say if the pool side rooms are better but we were in room 901 and the road was noisy and a cockerel crowed from sun up till sun down.

Praia Da Rocha has something for everyone. Quiet bars, noisy bars, nightclubs, Irish Bars, you can't go wrong here. There is also a great range of eateries to suit all tastes and pockets. Beach is lovely but quite a steep walk down to it so not suitable for those with walking difficulties. Excursions are plentiful. We went to zoomarine for the day. We are in our mid forties but still had fab time. Try Praia Da Rocha, you'll like it.

we enjoy Praia da Rocha very much, and have been there several times. The beach is so clean, there are plenty of restrants to suit all pockets, all the one's we ate in were spotless.
We enjoyed going to john's bar at the end of the strip, lot of Brits met there to enjoy 1 euro pint or a glass of wine for the same prize, which was quite good for what you paid, (I'v drank worse)As we were there end of season there was hardly any entertainment around, but the nice weather compensated for that.

Praia de Roche is a pleasant resort up a hill from most hotels but not a lot for children to do except on the beach
The beach is clean and long. Weather (Oct) was brilliant one poor day out of 14. Plenty of bars and restaurants, our favourite was Taca ( large beer 1 euro ) beer in general was 1 to 3 euros. Meals out were not expensive as a rule, exelent chinese on the strip.
Would go again.

The Praia De Rocha beach was beautiful. Some good cafes, and some bad cafes/restaurants. Some of the food was bland, fatty, and below standard. I ate at one restaurant on the strip which was terrible. Albeit, it was pub food, and not cheap either. I complained about it, but was only offered a free sweet and coffee. We paid, reluctantly.

We found better restaurants in Silves, and near the Marina at the far end.

Entertainment was ALL football from what I could see, but we didn't stay out very late, because it got colder at night in October. The beach was immaculate, and that was where we spent most of our time.

Praia Da Rocha consists of built in the 70s high rise buildings and a new posh Marina (strangely deserted in Sept) all around one of the best, cleanest beaches you will see anywhere.. There are a few high quality restaurants around the Marina and the Titanic in the centre of the resort deserves a special mention for excellent service and food. Most of the pubs are Irish theme bars and if you want to see more Irishmen then you will have to go to Ireland

I am surprised that the tour operators refer to Praia do Vau as a resort as there is absolutely NOTHING there except the beach which is beautiful.

There are a couple of beach cafes and four restaurants, one of which was closed during our stay. Of the other three, one was more like a cafe offering all varieties of pie and chips, one offered more local dishes but was very expensive for what they were offering and the other had a menu similar to that offered in a Harvester - gammon/pineapple and chips, lasagne and chips etc.

There are no shops or supermarkets.

If you want a get-away-from-the-world type of holiday then Praia do Vau is for you. If not, then my advice would be to choose somewhere else.

praia da rocha has one of the nicest beaches in europe it is so clean and great for young and old,the resort is spotless but for all the fag butts in between the cobblestones entertainment very good all the way up the strip only down side was the amount of men that wanted to sell me a smoke very annoying after a while.will def go back.

Praia Da Rocha is a cliff-top resort & has a very long golden sandy beach that stretches for miles. The beach is cleaned evryday & there is no shortage of space or sun-beds. There are various restaurants on the beach. A wooden walk-path allows people to walk along the stretch of the beach from one end to the other. Water-sports are available on the beach. Access to the beach is via steps at various points.

The general cleanliness of the resort was very good. There are flies & insects about but we had no problems with insect bites. The main strip is fairly long & is filled with the typical tourist sovenier shops, car-hire agents, excursion agents, supermarkets, restaurants & bars. There is a casino as well (passport needed to gain entry). Entertainment is limited to karaoke & live singers. This is not a resort for young couples looking to boogie the night away in a disco or night club.

On one end of the strip is the Fort & Marina and the opposite end carries on to the nearby resorts of Praia Da Vau & Alvor. The Marina end is considered to be the Posh area & has a few classy restaurants there.

All in all Praia Da Rocha is a resort suited to families with young children & those that are looking for a relaxed atmosphere.
