My mother and father took my son who was 10 at the time, to the Miami hotel. I was a bit worried that he would be on his own most of the time with his grandparents, but they didn't see him for the whole week they were there. He made lots of friends from the moment they arrived and took part in all the daytime activities, football, water polo, archery etc.

Fantastic for the children, and the grandparents had a rest too!

They are returning this year to the Miami, and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else!!

Two double beds in the room was a great relief - quite comfortable. Not much storage space and the plug was in a strange place - up high beside the t.v. we only found it the last week of our holidays.
Fresh towels and room cleaned every day. Bathroom was a standard size with a plug aswell.

We found the food very good, always a variety some of it wasn't our choice ie. veal or some of the more exotic fish dishes but other than that very happy with the breakfast and main courses. Never had to queue for food or wait for a table. Drinks waiters always very prompt and the dishes were always cleared away very quickly. My two children could always find something that suited them at mealtimes whether it was chicken nuggets or beefbugers. They always found something to their taste.

Staff very polite and always spoke when you met them in the corridor. Receptionists always very helpful.
Bar staff friendly and efficient in their work.

Life-guard very strict at the pool no lilo's or big blow up toys allowed. Except for a Sunday which is his day off.

The entertainment was really good for the children during the day. There was water polo, volleyball,
darts etc., there seemed to be something that would have suited any child of any age group. If they won they all received a certificate and a hat or sometimes a free cocktail depending on the game.

For the adults there was archery, volleyball, darts and a few others which were of your choice of doing. No one forced you.

At night the shows went from quite good to poor depending on your outlook. Could get quite cold at night so pack a cardigan just incase.

I would definately return to this hotel again the location is ideal, the rooms clean and reasonabley sized. The whole hotel overall was very clean.
The only thing which did mar our holiday was my husband got his money belt stolen from under the sun lounger at the pool side. Thankfully there wasn't a lot of money in it but he did lose a favourite watch. So just be aware when you are leaving things down. That could happen anywhere of course and we would still return to the Hotel Miami

When we arrived, we thought "great, we've landed on our feet here!" as we'd only booked the holiday 2 weeks before and didn't expect much. The hotel lobby looked fantastic. Check-in was fine, the man on rception was v. polite. The room was disappointing but we arrived at 4.00 am so we weren't about to make a fuss. The room and balcony were tiny - we had four single beds crammed in the room and the balcony would only fit 2. The shower was the worst I've ever been in - about two jets of water. We asked for it to be fixed but there was no improvement. There was a shower room downstairs which we used on the last day which had hot water but the jet was so strong the entire floor was drenched, including our suitcases. There was also no ventilation so it was just like a steam room.

The food was excellent - a huge display which never ran out! The only thing was that it tended to be the same stuff all the time, fish and veal. I've never eaten so much salad in my life (which is always a good thing!). Food always appeared to be fresh.

There was definitely not enough room round the pool. Thank God for the beach which was fantastic! I normally hate beaches but we got loungers etc. which cost us 15 euros a day (4 loungers and 4 parasols). We only went to the beach twice. If not for the close proximity of the beach, we'd wouldn't have been able to sunbathe at all as the pool area was packed. My daughter was allergic to the pool water which was a shame. We spent a lot of time at Pharmacies finding anti-histamine and calamine lotion.

The staff weren't v. nice, apart from the restaurant staff. They couldn't do enough for you. The bar staff were a different story. My husband had to wait for 10 mins to be served and while he was waiting, a bloke from England came up behind and was served straight away! I hate to sound like I'm banging an old drum but as soon as people heard our accents, we were ignored. The hotel was over-run by English and a fair spattering of Germans.

The entertainment. Well, what can I say? Bingo in five different languages! Pure Butlins crap! Apart from one guy who did a load of Motown, Michael Jackson and Otis Redding covers. He was brilliant! I'd have stayed at the bar every night if he'd been on every night.

I got back from the Miami in july this year but I've only just decided to comment on it after seeing all your comments about the food.

Me and my girlfriend liked everything about the hotel apart from food. We went on a half board holiday and ended up self catering. We ate in a Panorama hotel across the bay called Vista al mar.

The bar staff I can say were very poor giving priorty to German and Spanish guests us brits didn't get a sniff in.

I would definately return to this hotel because the area was so lovely and I would recommend it on self catering basis.

Firstly the hotel was in a prime location right on top of es cana beach. The hotels pool was far to small for the size of hotel and had no shallow end,and was not the cleanest.

The rooms were very basic but comfortable,(when the air con worked). The rest of the hotel had no air con.The buffet area got really busy in the evenings and the food was average, there is a small bar by the pool.

The entertainment team tried but it did get a little boring for the kids.

Well where shall I start, the Hotel itself was right on the beach which was perfect watching the sun set at night, but you needed that because I compared the Hotel to the Titanic it had about 1000 guest and oh about 70 sunbeds, people where getting alarm calls at 6 in the morning just to get the towels on the sunbeds.
You might as well taken your towels down with you at night and but them there before you went to bed.

The rooms were OK double beds which is a nice change, but as soon as we got into the room the floor was full of sand and shelves where dirty. Bathroom was very clean though. Bonus it had air conditioning, the best thing was to leave it on during day to keep the room cool for when you got back from the BEACH.

Food well that was a joke the only thing they cooked fresh every day was pancakes, if food was left over then it would be made into a fritter or a stir fry everything was very greasy, if you saw fruit when you walked in you needed to get it quick as it went very fast. And when they say breakfast finishes at 10.30 expect it to be taken away on the dot, it was very rushed in and out within half hour you had to que for everything or fight to get something, not my kind of relaxing holiday.

We were lucky we paid

Went for a week AI, on arrival hotel pleasant room spotlessly clean and comfortable bathroom immaculate!!
Disappointed that there was no plug sockets as there is no where to iron clothes.

Breakfast was standard with a lot of variety, however the dining area is far too small and unequipped for the amount of people that dine in there. Lunch and evening meal was very basic its a case of chips with everything. There is alot of staff cleaning tables but only a few to serve you with drinks and you tended to be waiting around for a drink. When the staff did eventually serve you they were very abrupt in their manner.

Hotel location is ideal however, if wanting to sit by the pool you would have to go down at 6ish in the morning to get a sunbed.

The entertainment was poor and poorly supervised as when i had our child in the pool he was hit in the face with a volleyball by amember of staff.

Despite all of the above i would recommend es cana to anyone as the place itself is lovely and spotlessly clean

Booked independently so paid a lot less than tour companies were asking. Hotel is in a super location on the beach just a short stroll from the centre of Es Cana. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The only problems we found was having only one electrical socket which was located in the bathroom! As us ladies tend to use a hairdryer for some time, you did tend to become very 'sweaty' by the time you had finished as there was no ventilation! Also, the room did have aircon but even with the curtains closed, this was not adequate enough to cool the room - our balcony had the sun on it all afternoon/early evening.

We were on half board and found the food was good and there was always a good selection to choose from. Food is buffet self-service. Breakfast served until 10.30am and evening meals from 7-9.30pm. My husband was in his element as HP brown sauce was part of the condiments!

I cannot comment on the entertainment as we did not participate as it did seem mainly for the children. However there was an entertainment notice board in the reception which did display a lot of activities.

The downside of the hotel was the pool area. Too small for the size of the hotel and you would need to be down very early to reserve your sun lounger. Also the loungers were so close to each other that you would be able to count the hairs on your neighbours chest!!

With regards to the beaches, the main Es Cana beach was lovely but again it did get quite busy and noisey. We found a lot of the loungers were already taken by 10am. However, a 15 minute stroll away is a lovely relaxed beach called Cala Nova. You could arrive here at 12 and still have a choice of beds. Sun bed hire for 2 beds and a brolly was 9 Euro's per day on both beaches.

We had a lovely holiday in Es Cana and would recommend a visit to this hotel/resort.

I would recomend this hotel to any family that were not used to 5* treatment,we had a great time!kids loved this place!it was very clean,we always saw the maids cleaning everywhere we went.

The food was ok,if you get there early you will find something that you like.Dont forget to dilute the orange as its squash,we saw everyone drink it undiluted and were making all kinds of strange faces which we found amusing!

Escana beach ok but not all that, if you walk behind the hotel you will find cala nova beach which is lovely, bit rough at times but they have a lifeguard there. you can go topless there and not feel like men are watching you.

Entertainment cheesy but fun, waiters were lovely so dont know why some reviews were saying they had to wait ages, if you let them know you want serving and are nice to them they come straight over when they have finished doing whatever,we never had to wait long.

Just go let ya hair down and most of all enjoy!!

The hotel room was quite pleasant, two double beds and a nice bathroom and a lovely view from the terrace.
Location was excellent being a few steps from the beach, staff a bit regimental and abrupt, cleaners did an excellent job sorting the rooms daily with plenty of clean linen. No electrical sockets in the rooms(unusual)apart from one in the bathroom.
The entertainment was outside at night even though it was rather chilly to say the least, we ended up going to another hotel during the evening for much better comfort, why cannot Miami have put the shows on inside where there was a stage?.(My wife and i are not bothered about shows, we prefer the pub entertainment scene but our g/daughter loves them)
The restaurant was like a cattle market, other holidaymaker's words, not mine and so true, we struggled every evening for a table. The variety of food was not up to much but we enjoyed what there was of it.
