The resort is generally clean and safe but as everywhere else in the world do not flaunt cash or bags especially near moped riders. The beach can get extremely busy in July and August but the water is safe and clean.
Plenty of water sports are available and there are several beach bars for good value snacks and drinks.

Beautiful little resort. Entertainment a bit lacking but only because places were closing for end of season - did not spoil it for us. Beach excellent. Well located for travelling to other resorts via ferry, bus taxi etc.

Es Cana is a small resort, but with everything you could want for in a beach holiday.

Es Cana is very small and the entertainment for our age group (24 & 27) is limited. Charlie's Bar was a god send and we spent 90% of our time there and loved it, but everywhere else seemed to be bingo, quizzes, rubbish acts singing 60's songs or are more than half empty with no life!
The restaurant next door to Charlies (Mar Vent I think) was also a blessing - fantastic food, fantastic service and lovely views onto the beach/sea. We ate there 10 times out of 14 (sad I know but seriously, it's delicious!).
The beach was OK, can't complain but nothing fantastic. Good watersports variety. Try the motorised 'pedaloes', they're great fun!
The links to other parts of the Island are good - the boat and the train as well as busses/taxis/scooters. We hired a scooter from Central Cars which is opposite Zodiac and the speedo didn't work so we didn't know whether or not we were within the speed limit - and these change frequently depending on where you are. They were very unhelpful and stroppy and pretended not to understand what we were saying. Only after some time did we very reluctantly get our money back - beware!
It's very British - no Tapas I'm afraid, all of your home comforts. In many ways this was great but was a bit of a shame.
I wouldn't go back to Ibiza and wouldn't reccomend Es Cana although I did enjoy the fortnight. It just wasn't for me, a bit too quiet and not enough variety. Great if you want a really chilled out holiday in British-esq surroundings.

We found the resort a bit small as we like to walk after dinner but the resort itself has a variety of bars, cafes and supermarkets.
It would appear to be not very wheelchair friendly as the kerbs are quite high and the pavements on the hotel side small.
There is a noddy train which runs to Santa Eulalia but you only get one hour there and then it comes back. There is a good bus service to Santa Eulalia just up the road and costs 1.15 euro each way.
The beach is small but clean with another beach at Cala Nova, about a 15 min walk.
All in all a pleasant but small resort to stay in.

Es Cana is a very nice place on Ibiza. The Hippie-Market every Wednesday is a highlight every week. With bus or taxi you can go to Santa Eularia or Ibiza-City. A lot of nice places in the near.

Es cana is not the biggest of places but offers something for everybody, Designer shops, nice bars,"Charlies","Popeyes" or "Bar 2 T.T's" (Say "hola" to Sergio for me!), there are a couple discos here too, as well as some very nice Restaurants, try the Steak with Roquefort sauce at the "Mar Bella", superb! (nr Miami Hotel).
Es cana's gently shelving crescent shaped beach is superb for kids of all ages, nice for a moonlit walk too.
The resort is close to Santa Eulalia, to which there is a regular bus service, or you can catch the early morning ferry, which also goes to Ibiza town.

I'm not a beach lover but pefect if you are. The water does have some seaweed and you have to be careful cos there are a few jelly fish

Nice resort and very handy to visit other areas, and lots of boat taxis to nearby resorts. I understand the tourist train is very good, but the day we tried to go on it there were too many people so were left!
The hippy market is worth a visit - don't go early in the day, really really busy - we went at 4pm and walked around easily,

The resort itself was lovely. The bay is so very pretty and not too busy, although I dare say in high season the place would be packed. It is fairly clean, although a little tired after a busy season I assume. All the bars and Hotels seem to offer entertainment of some sort. The standard of all the restaurants and bars is very high. Very clean and attractive. These is a distinct lack of authentic Ibizan/spanish cuisine though which is a great shame, however, although the resort seems to cater mainly for the British, it is'nt in your face. The views all round are stunning and it is a very central resort to get ferries, buses etc... It has a great feel to it, it seems safe and I would not hesitate to travel there alone as a single woman. It has a cosy, family vibe, not for young singles looking for action though. I really loved this place. So much so, that I am now looking to buy an apartment there.
