The resort was pleasant. Quietish small beaches more for families who just want to relax, but at the same time there was some nightlife if wanted.
The hippy market was very good ,plenty of water sport, and plenty of local buses to move about.

Es cana is not a big resort but has plenty of shops and bars We found the beach on the small side thus making it very crowded. Buses easy to use so you can travel around without needing to hire a car, but a car is needed to get off the beaten track. We would stay in this resort again.

An excellent beach within an excellent resort. Very clean and the locals are very friendly. Give the sixties bar a try!!

Really small place but with plenty to offer. However, didnt spend to much time in the resort as the hotel was fantastic.

Es Cana is a very clean resort and the beach is always clean. The tractors are out early every morning clearing away any rubbish left by holidaymakers and the sea weed that has been washed up during the night.
The entertainment is plentiful with many bars to choose from.

Es Cana was small but beautiful. The beach was clean and the kids loved swimming in the clear seas.
Went out on the glass bottom boat which took us round the other bays (Cala Llonga, Cala Nova) This was very pretty and lasted about an hour.
It is a small resort but very relaxing and pretty.

Although it was October when we travelled the resort was still very busy. Plenty of shops but all selling the usual tourist stuff. Much better shops in Santa Eulalia and Ibiza town.
The Hippy Market is worth a visit if only for the atmosphere go early before it gets too busy and look out for two men playing didgeridoos - breathtaking -literally.
We had considered hiring a car but found the ferries to Cala Llonga, Santa Eulalia and Ibiza town to be an excellent way of getting about. Another form of transport worth taking is the little tourist express road train which stops on the prom near the ferries, the morning excursion costs 12 Euros each and lasts three hours visiting a church, a couple of bars and a couple of beaches but more importantly to me passes Richard Gere's house.
Didn't go on the afternoon excursion but did go on the evening one to Santa Eulalia (6 Euros) with one hour stop in Santa Eu. These trips are more suited to adults than children.
We only visited the beach once but it did look clean and we didn't notice any litter.
The resort itself we found to be far cleaner than Ibiza town it really is "tiptoe through the tulips" there with dog fouling.
Overall this resort is good for both young, old and families, plenty of lively bars but also areas for those who prefer peace and quiet.

The charm of this resort was lost because it was rather overrun with people, the reason we chose this paticular resort was because it was suppopsed to have not lost its original charm, however it felt a bit like a busy English seaside town. The only way to escape this was to either stay in the hotel or go for a walk on the costal paths to Cala llenya, which we did on a daily basis.
There was quite a lot of bars, however only La Jacaranda appealed to us.
Although other people will like it for it's British feel, it was not for us.
