The Bergantin just does not deserve some of the poor write ups it has been given. We went back for the 2nd time in May and the staff remembered us from last year...!
My son was always referred to as 'guapo' or 'ojos marrones' which means 'beautiful' and 'brown eyes'. Although this is Ibiza- the locals do speak spanish and the odd spanish phrase does not go amiss. I used to leave little notes in Spanish thanking the cleaning staff, and I would always ask for drinks in spanish. But that is just me as I speak fluent Spanish and French. Having said that, the staff treated everyone with great respect while we were there - spanish, english, german etc etc. Ok- the food is not great- but you have an abundance of restaurants on the door step.
If you go on holiday - even all inclusive- and expect to only eat and drink at the same hotel; you should stay at home and save yourself money!
The site is perfect- we had no noise trouble at all. I did however have an accident on site as a result of several 'humps' in the roadway leading to reception (hotel owned). The thomas cook rep was very helpful (shame the same cannot be said for thomas cook themselves who did not bother contacting me to see how my injury was).
Anyway- back onto the good stuff- the entertainment is dire- but great aswell! We would get woken up at 10 am (if my son hadn't woken us up already) with 'Good Morning and welcome to todays entertainment...' You did get this in about 5 different languages, but hey it was amusing (for us!). They also play VENGABOY 'Were going to Ibiza' so great if you were born early 80's like me!
Cafe Royal has gone to the dogs- if you were a fan- you wont be anymore as JACKIE has gone to pastures new. However, come out of the hotel onto the main road and turn left or right and there are at least 5-10 decent restaurants/ pubs.
A word of warning- if you want to use the phone use that small hire shop on the main road (opposite the junction where the bergantin is) it is sooo cheap and the staff get to know you. Be careful with the main souvenir stores - they overcharge you. But- when you argue with them in their native tongue and then warn off English tourists passing by, they are surprisingly accommodating!
Cant wait to go back!

This hotel is an absolute disgrace. Rooms never cleaned the whole week we were there food completely disgusting. Impossible to eat in the hotel without having food poisioning. Rep was useless he did not bother to try and alleviate our concerns. We also heard reports that the cleaners were theives so although we didn't get anything taken I would advise the use of a safe.
Evening entertainment was a disgrace, one night the staff were asking for adults to compete in who was the best at pretending to be sick on stage. No need for this at a family resort.
The hotel is in a good position but only if your the type of person that enjoys Blackpool, no great sights to see but the walk into San Antonio Town is peaceful if you go along the beach.
I could go on forever about the bad points but it's easier to say DON'T GO it will save me time and you wasted money.

nice hotel, great staff we had a family room , which in fact had 2 bedrooms. maid service very good. food good, as with all inclusive you can tend to get bored with the food, probably because your never hungry . snack bar 4 burgers , chips etc.. open 10 till 6 .excellent pool areas 4 pools. you never have 2 fight 4 a sunbed theres always plenty. mixed nationalities guests ... british, french, german, italian and spanish. the staff are excellent , the drinks are excellent [no cheap soft drinks ,real coke, fanta sprite]. my kids want to go back there next year!!!

Very nice hotel, good play area for children and had 3 good sized pools. Food was nice but got a bit repetative after a fortnight, and the snack bar only served the very basics, but the kids could help themselves to icecream all day and night. The kids club only seemed geared up for German children and the majority of the guests were German and French - very few English.
Our room was cleaned every day and the staff in general were polite but not overly welcoming. Hotel in a good position, only a short walk to shops etc. but nearest beach only 2 mins walk was rocky, and would recommend walking 5 mins to beach further along which was really lovely.
Would go back to San Antonio Bay just for the wonderful sunsets, but maybe to a different hotel.
