The resort of Sata Eulalia is lovely. It is easy to get around the island from there, it is clean and there are lots of varied cafes' bars, restaurants and shops with prices to suit all tastes. It is quite a big town but not built up like the costas. A lot of the bigger buildings are actually apartments and not hotels and this adds to the feel of the place. The beach is very clean with lots of showers to wash off the salt and sand. If you have a pushchair or wheel chair it is easy to get around the main area as the pavements are lowered in lots of places and there are loads of crossings.

Santa Eulalia is an excellent resort, it is flat so no steps and hills to climb up and down all the time.It is very clean, the bach is cleaned every morning and we never even saw a cigarette butt on the floor.
There ia a wide range of bars to nive quiet ones , but of you want a latelate night there is a nightclub.

Having used the buses to visit many of the other resorts, santa eulalia is without doubt the best and most pleasant, unless you are 18 to 30, in which case you should stick to San antonio or playa den bossa, and you are quite welcome to both

The promenade was really pretty and really nice to walk along particularly at night. There are loads of restaurants and lots of benches to sit on if you want to take a rest. There wasn't much in the way of bars but we found Mirage and really enjoyed it when Ricky G was on singing loads of different tunes.
We ate at at Daffers 15 euros for 3 courses, Tex Mex which was 14 euros for 3 courses, The chinese opposite tex mex yuk and not much variety.
We had a bad meal at the Gallery although it was the most expensive we had. We had a brill breakfast at Mels and had a snack another day. Pier one was a rip of 8.50 for a small breakfast.
There wasn't much to do after having a meal not much in the way of bars. We went on Cowboy night with First Choice avoid this one though 40 euros and the meal consisted of beans, coleslaw and sausages a real waste of money!
We went on sunset cruise which was brill 25 euro and we got a glass of champers watching the sunset. We went to sunset strip which was good but cafe mambo is so expensive 12 euros for 2 small bottles of beer.
We spent most days at the beach 7 euros for 2 beds but was too cold to swim in the sea. We went on the boat to the Hippie market on Wednesday 8 euros return which I didn't enjoy as got pushed and shoved all over the place.
We had a look round Es Cana which I would have preferred to stay at. I enjoyed the week we had but would have been bored if gone for 2.

Great resort. Clean, if not too big, beach but great promenade to stroll on or sit on the plentiful benches and people watch. Always felt safe here with no rowdies to spoil the pleasure. Bars and restaurants too many to count. Plentiful shopping from usual touristy shops to upmarket clothing.

The resort of Santa Eulalia was disappointing. The brochure states a "cosmopolitan feel" with "designer shops" which we would feel is inaccurate. There were no designer shops we could see (Gucci, Versace - where???), only one 'Lacoste' shop and mostly souvenir shops as the rest. The shops also close between 1:30pm and 4/5pm which I feel is rather silly as this is probably peak time for tourists and even Spanish shoppers (and therefore peak money making time for businesses). I know the siesta has always been a tradition but this is now 2006! Theres no excuse!
The beach was nice and the harbour pretty with a nice promenade to walk along. There was a good range of restaurants and snack bars but no rowdy pubs or nightclubs.
There is also a little train that takes you on a tour of different resorts and other places in the Ibizian countryside and we would reccommend it!
Despite reading reports and hearing comments made by various people that Ibiza is the most beautiful island of the Balearics we would strongly disagree. We were left totally unimpressed by the island, even after visiting several different resorts. The amount of building work going on throughout the whole of the island was horrendous, we have never seen so much waste ground and half completed buildings in our lives! Everywhere we travelled there was building work going on which totally spoils your enjoyment of the island.
Ibiza isn't a patch on stunning Majorca which in our eyes is the most picturesque of all the islands. We will not be returning!

Santa Eularia is not only a holiday resort but is home to some 26000 permanent residents so is quiet a large town in its own right without the tourist side. During the summer months this population can quadruple and I must say the locals put up with this invasion magnificently and provide a very clean, well run and friendly resort.
Facilities are second to none with all kinds of shops, from tourist shops to upmarket boutiques, restaurants, catering to all tastes and all pockets, plentiful supermarkets and banks etc. Where this town scores over most other resorts is that its facilities have to cater for a large indigenious population as well as tourists which keeps the range of facilities and the prices as large as could be possible, unlike some other resorts where town and tourist areas are distinct from one another. This also gives Santa Eularia a somewhat laid back and cosmopolitan feel whilst still offering plenty to do and see.
The resort is geared mainly for the family market with lots of good restaurants and bars, nice hotels and apartments and excellent facilities. The all night drinking and disco brigade is catered for in San Antonio and there isnt much in that line of entertainment in Santa Eularia.
The town is large and has two excellent beaches backed by a pretty and well kept promenade, with restaurants along the length. It stretches from the posh marina at one end and continues, though diminishing in size to the river mouth at the other end. In the evenings this is the focal point for locals and tourists alike who promenade all evening chatting and socialising. Its worth just sitting in one of the sea front bars with a cool drink and just people watching for an hour or so.
The promenade and beaches are cleaned and swept every day so are kept well. Many locals have dogs, a bewildering variety of breeds, and the reports of dog mess everywhere are highly exagerrated, this is our second year at this resort, and it is generally very clean and well kept.
The two beaches provide clean safe bathing the sea was always clean and warm on our two visits. The main town beach has lifeguards and more locals or spanish seem to use this beach than the other beach that we used opposite the Orquida and Riomar hotels. Sunbeds and parasols are available from this beach. We hired ours from the 4pines restaurant. Cost for two beds and an umbrella was 10.50 euros, 9 euros last year. Eduardo the beach boy who you hired them from would also serve drinks if you wanted and looked after his patch of beach keeping it clean and tidy!
We are beach lovers so we hired each day and would sit and watch all the expensive yachts and motor boats going in and out of the marina all day and generally chill out.
If you want to be more active there are several walks you can do, including the river and Puig De Missa which has a church at its top and magnificent views accross the town. There is a local 'train' ride which leaves the Tres Torres Hotel behind the marina area which visits other local towns and beaches through lovely countryside and is worth doing, 12 euros p.p for 3 hour excursion. The town has a large bus station behind the Town Hall and you can get to practically anywhere on the island from here and the bus prices are reasonable too, pre buy your ticket from the booth before boarding tho!
Restaurants and bars abound and cater to all tastes except I would say to the lager lout fraternity. We ate out every evening and the main concentration of restaurants run along the promenade and along Restaurant Street,Carrer de Sant Vicent I think?. Along these two stretches alone you can eat around the globe and prices range from cheap to reasonable to downright lottery winners stuff. Daffers is the most famous in Restaurant Street with a fixed price menu for three courses, 12.50 euros p.p before 20.00 hrs. We ate there a couple of times but ate just as well and just as reasonably priced in many other restaurants. A pint of beer will vary from 2.50 to 4.00 euros depending where you drink and many restaurants will offer special deal menus and drinks which help the euro go farther. We did not have a bad meal or bad service in any of the restaurants we ate in and I can particularly recommend the 'Snack Koala','Mels Bar','Pier 1' and the 'Balti house' along the front.
The Marina is a fascinating place to wander around in the evening and we had a good meal and drinks in the Mirage Bar as you enter the marina area. Lots of money and posuers in this area, but if you think the boats are impressive here take a trip to the port in Ibiza town!!
You can take boat trips from here to other towns, we went to Es Cana for the hippy market, personal opinion, didnt like Es Cana and hippy market is a tourist rip off. You can also take the catamaran to Formentera. If your wallet stretches that far you can hire a posh boat or even buy one! There are also scuba diving ,wind sailing and yachting schools located at the marina.
From each beach you can hire pedaloes etc and up by Mariners bar by the river mouth you can do banana boat rides etc.
Accross the river is an area called Siesta and as its name implies is alot quieter than the town. Although mainly residential there are some hotel and apartment complexes and is the area when we come back to Santa Eularia we will try to find a place to stay. This area meanders up a hill overlooking the bay and at night when lit up looks very picturesque as does the whole front area.
If you like shopping there are many shops all over the town selling all sorts. On the main road through the town, Carrer de Sant Jaume heading toward the marina you will find several shops selling leather bags fake gucchi stuff etc at the cheapest prices and its all good stuff. There are also some nice bakers along here as well as chemists, banks, the police station right up to the town hall square, where you will find a KFC and MacDonalds, yuk. Opposite the town hall and leading to the sea front is a mini Ramblas market which is nice but you can buy cheaper from the shops.
The only drawback we have about Santa Eularia is in the location of the main hotels and apartments in that these areas seem to suffer from the most noise throughout the night, being located on busy streets and near bars and restaurants. The services operate during the night sreet sweeping rubbish collecting etc, and the bars though not full of louts stay open late. A typical night where we stayed was 0100-0130ish bars close. 0130-0200 restaurants bars clearing up filling and putting out large bins for collection. 0200-0230ish street sweeper going up and down. 0300-0400ish rubbish cart going up and down. 0700 tractors sweeping clearing beach. All this interspersed with cars and mopeds going up and down people going home to there apts none too quietly and coaches picking up and dropping of at various hotels.
We will try somewhere different next year but will certainly revisit Santa Eularia again but make sure it is in a quieter part.
