This very large hotel runs like a well oiled machine and the management and staff are to be congratulated. In particular the restaurant is extremely efficient and the chef and his crew deserve particular credit for the quality, quantity and variety of food available at the self service breakfast and dinner buffet. British tastes are well catered for with full cooked breakfasts, including toast and HP sauce for those who want it!.For the more adventurous there is usually some local dish available at dinner.
Rooms are simple and clean. The plumbing works well! A nice powerful shower with constant water temperature. The rooms have no air conditioning TV or radio (which one might expect to find in a 3 star hotel).
The grounds including a swimming pool were well maintained - all garden furniture and loungers were stored away by 7:00 p.m. each night and any litter removed at the same time. Some of the furnishings in the large air conditioned public rooms were looking a little shabby.
Entertainment provided every evening was geared towards families. On some evenings there are professional acts including a comedy duo and hypnotist.
The main problem that we found was the noise from the busy main road that runs alongside the hotel. Traffic was heavy throughout the day and only abated slightly in the small hours of the night. It was also necessary to cross this road to get to and from the beach.
The beach gets very crowded. Hardly possible to find a spot to lay out the beach towel! The sands are soft and clean.
Outside of the hotel were stops for the public bus stops to Alcudia port/town and Can Picafort. Running every 15 minutes in each direction - average fare 1.10 Euros (each way - payable to the driver). In the resort there are plenty of shops and supermarkets. Also nearby many bars cafes and restaurants catering for a British clientele.

I was in a party of 10 which included 2 young children under the age of 4.The tour operator put our rooms in close proximity on the same floor which I thought was great. The hotel accomodation I thought was excellent and very clean. There was clean linen everday and beds made as well. The food and restaurant was good. There was a good array of food for all but not to everyones taste in our party. But most of all we enjoyed the entertainment and especially the hard working reps!!. I thought all the reps were excellent epecially Ant, Jay, Lewis and Fran!!. Ant and Jay were brilliant and very proffessional. I was dragged up on stage and had a great time with the gargling competition-gargling Hey Jude, the blankety game which I was second, and of course the pool champ on the eve of the world cup final with my trophy dedicated to Brazil held above my head. There was plenty of activities in the day for adults and kids including waterpolo, shooting, darts and pool. Also I thought the kids zone was brilliant and we all enjoyed the songs as much as the kids. Especially when they got the adults to dance to the songs. I would like to know if any one who has stayed there has a copy of the 'Mimic Man' song and 'the King of Caracatus' song . If you have please could email me at: johnperkins1999@totalise.co.uk and let me know if I could have a copy please. Back to the hotel again..I thought the location was good and not to far from the beach. I am certainly going back next year to have some more great fun...Special thanks to the reps Ant and Jay

we had a brilliant holiday, the reps were there almost all the time for any questions that you had and the hotel staff went over the top to help you. We never saw the same show twice in the two weeks that we were there, althought we thought the drinks were a bit expensive. the kids loved it as there was playgrounds and huge sandpits for them to play with, they were entertained day and night. The food was okay but then you cant please everyone.i couldnt fault anything with the hotel and i would definately go back next year

I stayed at the Delfin Azul Hotel in Alcudia in September 2004 for a week. I went with my wife and two year old son Half Board. The breakfasts were good, with plenty of choice, but the evening meal was very bland and often the adults ate from the kids selection, chips mainly. We had trouble getting to sleep most nights thanks to kids running wild in the corridors till the early hours. The staff did nothing even though the "security" officer was located directly opposite my room. There was only one smallish swimming pool, which was dissappointing for such a large hotel.Bed linen and towels were changed regularly but the floor could have done with a clean. We hired a fan and fridge, which took up all the power points in the room.Entertainment was OK but I wouldn't go back.
