Location
eating out on.
You have to pay extra for air conditioning and to get
english chanels on the TV which is a bit of a rip off.
Only had bar snacks at the hotel for lunch but these
were fine.
Hotel is in good location, end of a cul-de-sac so no traffic noise at night, 5min walk from nearest beach,
10min to next. Nearest restaurants 5mins, 10mins to
center.
Nice pool, kids pool, kids playground + small water
park with sprays etc by the pool.
Hotel staff where all very friendly.
Kids clubs run by First Choice staff + seperate hotel entertainment staff for games around the pool, all very friendly and enjoyed by our children age 6 and 3.
Kids disco each night + entertainment - bit basic but
children enjoyed.
Would stay here again.

The hotel itself was really clean,The maids only had one day off but other than this they were in everyday and did a really good job and were always very polite.
Only thing I would complain about is the kitchen as there was no workspace and no draining board so you basically had to wash a cup then dry it and put it away before you could do the next one,it really was a pain. But this is my only gripe about the apartment as the room we got was fantastic! We were in room 101 and we had a view of the pool, water park and the play area.
We didnt eat at the hotel apart from getting chips at the poolside for the kids so I cant really comment but the drinks there were more reasonable than anywhere else that we could find.
The hotel location for us was great as it was only a short walk from everywhere and far enough away that it was really quiet.
Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.I have to give a special mention to Krazy Karen and Silly stephanie the Kids club reps, They were fantastic with the kids. There were plenty of sessions and our 2 were never out of the club. Not too happy when they missed one either. We hardly saw them.
I gave the entertainment a 4 as it was brilliant for the kids but not to good for the adults but if they are happy then I am happy.
There was no BBQ as lots of other reviews have stated but this might be because it was early in the season.
There is a doctor that comes to the hotel each morning but the reps never told us this in the welcome meeting and after a nasty bite from something on my leg the doctor had to be called a few days later and it cost me 152 euro as he wouldnt take the card that replaced the E111 form. If we had been told about the visiting doc I probably would have got away with just cream.
I would love to visit this hotel again but for me Cala Dor was very expensive but it was a lovely place to holiday with the family.

The rooms were very clean and the maids very friendly, as with previous comments a draining board would have been handy but other than that there was plenty of room. The beds in the main bedroom weren't very comfortable though the matresses were sort of rubberised and very noisy!!
The staff, particularly on the bar were great, very friendly and great with the kids particularly Dima, Daniela, Mariano, Jaime and Aposolos.
There was a kids disco every night starting at 9pm, we were there for 2 weeks and the music was exactly the same each night, same tracks, same order, I think a change every now and then would have been nice.
My kids (2 boys) used the kids club only once on the first day and refused to go back, it was pretty much girl dominated. The hotel's own entertainers did organise football games most days and this was more to their taste.
The resort centre wasn't far away and there was plenty of choice to eat out each night. The best restaurants we visited were Copa D'or and Es Cajliu(?) both tapas bars the food was fantastic. Way too many chip and egg joints and English bars for our liking though.
Recommended things to do:
The tourist train, if the weather's not too good.
The glass bottomed boat to Porto Colom.
The Pirates show in Magaluf, expensive but worth it, our best night out.

The standard of kitchen equipment was everything you have at home excluding the dishwasher. The rooms were large clean and plenty of cupboard space. The room service was very good 5 times per week and towels changed every time.
The pool area was fantastic, clean, plenty of sun beds, the splash park and the play area was great for the children.
The organised entertainment was very good with various pool games for both adults and children throgh the day and also in the evening,( we understand that the entertainment was laid on by the hotel and not First Choice).
Some of the best food we ate throught the week was actually at lunchtimes at the pool bar.
Hotel location spot on, at the end of a road.no noisey passing traffic, very close to 2 sandy bays and just a short stroll from shops and bars.
For us this hotel certainly has a winning formula and reaches far higher standards than its official 2*

The apartment was cleaned and we had fresh towels everyday. The bed linen was changed twice during our two week stay. Only a small number of the apartments have a balcony with a view of the pool. Our terrace looked out on a 12ft screen so it was only used for drying clothes. No sea view or people watching here.
Also the beds are poor.
The kitchen was four feet of worktop containing a two ring hob and a sink so no work space. It had a kettle ,toaster and microwave. Enough space to do breakfast i.e. cereal and toast, but forget it if you fancy cooking your family a meal. Also the fridge was more or less done, the ice compartment was broke and the seals were dodgy. So we ate out alot.
The pool bar sold a good selection sarnies, pizza etc.
The quality and staff were excellent, very friendly, worked hard and got involved in the fun.
The location is excellent. About 5mins walk from Cala Esmeralda, 8mins from Cala Gran and about 15mins from the Marina.
There was a full daily programme of activity and nightly entermainment. With the mini disco for the kids at 9pm, followed by family entermainment next. The reps would put on a show or they brought in a "professional". Every night we stayed at the complex we really enjoyed the entertainment.
Pool and deck are kept very clean, with a lot of shade from the pine trees. Shallow pool attached for the very young. If you are a keen sunbather you'll have to get up early if you want a sunbed that stays in the sun throughout the day.
We went on a couple of excursions during our stay both where very good but very expensive.
Generally a very good complex, with good staff, entertainment, food and family friendly atmosphere.
The apartments are a bit small and the air conditioning costs 35 euro a week. So if can put up with a poor bed and very small kitchen for the length of you stay go for it, you'll have a ball. We did.

The apartments are a good size and are well equipped.
The bar meals served at lunchtimes are very good value and the apartments are close to bars and restaurants. There is a barbeque each Wednesday evening and that's worth staying at the apartments for too. Good value and a good choice on the menu. However, if you insist on cooking your own meals the kitchen area is reasonably well equipped including microwave, electric kettle and toaster, and there is plenty of cutlery and crockery!
The hotel staff are friendly and courteous.
A new water play area had been added since our previous stay and our daughter thought that was great. There is a Kid's club with a variety of activities throughout the day. The club is run by First Choice staff. There are also poolside games for adults and children every day run by entertainers employed by the apartments. There is a mini disco for the kid's followed by the evening entertainment which is somewhat variable in quality but is generally enjoyable.
The apartments are well positioned at the end of a cul-de-sac so there's no traffic noise. They are close to two beaches and only a few minutes walk from the main area of shops, bars and restaurants.
As I said at the start, this was our second year at the apartments. Would we go back again? Well, we've already booked for next summer so enough said!

The rooms had everything you needed and more and were really clean.
The location was brilliant- only a short walk away from the centre and the supermarket was even closer.
The First Choice rep Claire was more than helpful with anything that you would need.
In all the best family holiday we have been on, already looking at booking for next year!!

Kids were entertained day and night, location excellent even for me who uses sticks to walk every thing was nearby. Cala Esmerelda beach is one of the prettiest i have ever seen. Cala D'or resort, out through the gardens at the back of the hotel, and turn right about a 5 minute walk is fantastic for food.
A special mention for Claire the first choice rep nothing is too much trouble for her. Definately going back probably in September.

Only a couple of comments, rooms were clean and a fair size, beds were very uncomfortable, not that I got much chance to sleep because of the children playing football, pool, hide and seek etc. I don

The pool was cleaned every day before it opened.
The staff were very friendly and are always happy to help.
The apartments are located within walking distance of about 4 of Cala D'ors beaches, all of which are beautiful, although my 9 year old prefered to stay at the pool and enjoy the entertainment there.
We definitely want to come again.
