Location
Perfect place for children, its safe and so clean.
Entertainment wasn't so good, but kids enjoyed it! their happy everybody else is.
We went here last year, son loves it. He is on the autistic spectrum. It isn't too busy neither. No time shares at all.
If you want a relaxing time it would be perfect.
Hotel is so close to a small beach and see which is so clean and safe.
If you wanted more entertainment you could get it as well perfect in every way.
We would only book this hotel if we went back again kids all no kids. If you book ask for f block you face the lovely views of sea and lovely boats going past!

The food was varied and extremely tasty and the snacks and drinks at the pool bar were very good value. The single bad point was that the bed was very hard and had we been staying any longer this would have become a problem for me but otherwise I cannot fault this hotel and would definitely go back for a long weekend again.

Pools, which there are about 5 of, were very clean and well maintained.
Cannot fault this complex it's absolutley stunning, with great views.
Great for families!!

The main reception/entertainment takes place at the EP whi is located approx 100m from CAP and 600m from CAG, each hotel has it's own reception and swimming pool. We stayed in the CAG which was an acceptable standard of accomodation with a good pool, if you wanted daytime entertainment you would need to locate yourselves at the EP which was the main hotel in this complex, the whole complex is run by Inturotel and is basically 4 hotels which have linked together and are separated by public roads.
Local shops and bars offer a variety of services you would expect, the one-way road separating the CAG from the EP and CAP is in moderate use and the main street which leads you back into the centre of Cala D'or, it takes approx 15/20 mins to walk back to the main shopping/restaurant area but well worth the pleasant walk in the evening.
Entertainment at the EP is basic with staff miming to well known musicals with the odd outside performer.
The main restaurants are located in the centre of the resort and can be a bit pricey if you at there every evening, teh Pizzeria Mestral near to the hotels is very acceptable and probably 70% the price of the centrally located restaurants in the more cosmopolitan centre.

EP has two pools both with a child/toddlers area that is fenced off. Views overlook Cala Esmeralda which is a small cove with a beach. Although EP is based around the cove it is shared by other hotel users too. Cala Azul is somewhat alittle more subdued (Quieter) It too has a large freshwater pool that is safely divided into both a childrens section and a toddlers section. It's deeper end tends to host the water polo competitions so be warned. The views from Cala Azul overlook the jetty of which there is a steep rock face.
Although we stayed on a self catering basis we found that eating out in the main town was very pricey. So for 12euros per adult(kids ate free) we enjoyed an array of succulent foods. Which were served buffet style. Due to the high numbers of diners it wasn't a relaxing affair nonetheless the food was superb and catered for everyones tastes.
The rooms are cleaned 5 times a week. They consist of a seperate twin bedroom, 2 sofa beds in the lounge along with a kitchen diner that has a fridge, toaster and a cooker. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it.Every room has a private balcony and also aircondition.
Staff at the hotel are very welcoming and are genuinely helpful. From the room maids to the reception staff they are extremely polite.
Although we might sound really sad in saying this but we would all love to return to Cala Azul again.

Weather great only one morning that we had a thunder storm apart from that temp around 25-30c the whole week.
15-30min walk to the marina but well worth it and nice places to eat and drink.
The aparts were spacious and very clean, maid service 5 times per week. We stayed in block L which overlooked the pool and the beach.
Great place for kids over the age of two, very safe toddler pool and plenty of other children - mostly german - so lots of friends to play with. Not ideal for toddlers not so steady on their feet or needing pushchairs on the beach or round the poole as there were quite a few steps to the pool and beach.
Entertainment great for kids in the evening although pretty much the same every night although the cabaret for adults from 10pm was different every night.
Food - we were self catering although we did try the hotels half board facilty for E20.00 pp kids are free - you can get an eve meal and breakfast- it was very busy and not a relaxing meal although very nice food and lots of it - waitress service very good and it was kept v clean.
Shopping - nearest big hypermarket 3/4 hour walk although smaller supermarkets 5mins away - could be quite pricey though. Good pub - The Devonshire - english and very reasonably priced and great food - good play area for kids too so keeps them happy while you eat and drink!!
All in all a really great holiday and resort would definatly go back there again.

Location and tranquility of the hotel have not changed at all and are still great, but the service I feel was NOT as good as in previous years. The staff did not bother as much as previous ,and the entertainment staff are all different from last year and were not as enthusiastic.
There was No selection of childrens meals in the restaurant ( NO Fish fingers/Chicken Nuggets/ English sausages/Hotdogs etc.) I raised this isssue with the management team and they did assure me that this would be addressed next year.
I don't want people who are booked up for the hotel next year to worry though, I still had a lovely holiday and would recommend the hotel to my friends. I think I've been spolied by great service over the past few years.
Anyone who is visiting Cala d'or for the first time will be Impressed, it is such a great family resort

Take a trip on the road train E2.00 each ( E3.00 return )one way to the harbour very nice restaraunts and walk back or get a taxi. Found the Air cond in the room went off when you open the doors to the balcony. It would also go off between 2.00am and 8.00am. You will need to drag your bags up stairs to get to your room but that's a small inconveniance. We didn't have a view of the sea or pools just the next block but it was OK and it very quiet at night. I have been to Majorca many times but Cala D'Or is the nicest place I've been to and would certainly go again.
