The resort of Cala Dor was very clean although you must watch were you walk sometimes but you get that everywhere I think.
We went to a lovely steakhouse the food was beautiful and the staff were lovely its called Los Gauchos if you come out of the hotel and walk to the Indian restaurant turn left there walk straight down over the bridge past the tropical gardens keep going straight up and its on the corner.
Do not mistake this for the steakhouse/La fontanella next to Hollywoods as we went there too, but only had a drink and when we queried the bill as it was really expensive for two beers the manager was really agressive toward us and my kids got really upset so we wouldnt go back there again for the rest of our holiday.
Other nice places to eat as other reviews said were supertramps. If you come out of the hotel once more go to the Indian and again turn left walk down until you reach Hollywoods and then do another left and you cant miss it.
They had really nice food and good prices you can get a meal for 2 adults,2 kids and 4 drinks for around 25-30 euro. Also Duke of Devonshire again the food was nice and lots of it and the staff were always laughing and joking, come out the hotel but instead of going left take the first right and you cant miss it.
Also there was a lovely little place to eat and drink but I cant remember the name of it but if you go out the back of the hotel, turn right towards the Cala Gran beach you will see a supermarket and its next door. The people there were really lovely and couldnt do enough for you.
The Cala Gran beach was really nice,I liked that it was small but we went in low season, In high season I think it would be impossible to get a spot. The sea was crystal clear and the waves were fun for the kids. Esmeralda beach was really steep but just as nice and again this was smaller than Cala Gran.
I really did enjoy my holiday in Cala Dor and it was great for families but we wont be returning as we really did find it very expensive apart from the places I have mentioned but I think that is the case all over Mallorca now.
You will have a great time at this hotel.

Resort did nothing for us, couple of streets of same type shops/cafes. Beach too small, only pleasant walk was through pine trees to the Marina. Cala Dor itself was much better this was about a 20 minute walk (up a steep set of steps) on one side of the Marina. Taxi was only about 5 euros though.

Cala Egos is small, but friendly with some nice little shops. Cala D'or is larger with far more shops. We didn't really use any restuarants due to being all inclusive.

Cala D'or is a nice family resort with lots to do for everyone, good restaraunts and plenty of shops. One of our favourite resorts on Mallorca. Looky Looky men are a bit if a nuisance

Cala d'Or with its marina (approx 15/20 minute walk from Cala Ferrera) is a pretty town that appeared very clean and well cared for. The roads are extremely narrow hence some very interesting one way systems! Having said that, everything seems very well signposted! There is an abundence of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants with many providing evening entertainment.

The resort was clean and tidy beaches were very clean and there are about 4 in the area, we went at Easter so was a little quiet when we first got there but livened up as the week went on. I would def revisit Cala dor, the people are very friendly and is generally a nice place to go.

The resort is, to be fair, like the apartments basic!!!, once you have had a walk around the shops (takes all of 15 mins) you realise just how small the resort here is, if you are staying for any longer than a couple of days, I would advise hiring a car so you can out of there.
They said the beach or rather a beach was 300 meters from the apts, took us about 5 mins to walk to it, but you have to find it first, it is a tiny beach, but very safe, but in the summer you would have a job getting somewhere to sit.
Plenty of restaurants around the area, but most tend to cater for the English and Germans, of which there are plenty of too

Cala D'Or was getting ready for the summer season when we visited (end of April) so not all bars and restaurants were open, and a lot of painting (of furniture, walls etc.)was going on.
Very limited public transport available, apart from a couple of mini-trains, which took forever to get about. Streets fairly clean, quite a few dogs about....
Bar and restaurant owners were very keen to get our custom, as the place wasn't busy, hence free starters and drinks were common.
Beach (Cala Gran) was lovely, small, and not too crowded in April, although can imagine it would be unbearable in the summer months.

Cala Egos is a very small resort but with several good restaurants and two small coved-beaches.
It seems to be a resort that attracts lots of Germans as well as British.
Cala D'or is about a 25 minute walk away or 5 euros in a taxi. This is a much bigger resort. The resort centre is quite lively with lots of bars and restaurants and 5 beaches dotted around it. There is also a marina with several good restaurants overlooking all the expensive boats! We would reccomend the Acuarius restauant.
The beaches are very small which didnt matter to us in April as it wasnt too busy but if you were there in August i think it would be very crammed.
All in all, we enjoyed our holiday and would visit cala egos again.
