This is NOT a lively resort. However, if you enjoy lovely beaches, walking, cycling or just visiting the bric-a-brac shops then this area is for you.
We were there in the very last week prior to the Winter shutdown even the weather was in our favour with 7 days of sunshine and thankfully no major storms. 25 degrees C during the day and no jacket required during the evening apart from one night when it got slightly chilly at night. Nothing a stiff drink couldn't cure I can tell you!
Ca'n Pastilla is essentially the quieter end of the Bay of Palma/Arenal. Arenal seemed much the busier end of the stretch of bay but predominantly non British. A stack of cash has obviously been spent on the coastal area so walking and cycling are popular pursuits for all and sundry together with a bit of plane spotting. Pedal bike hire is plentiful and there are lots of motorised vehicles available for hire for those who have difficulty getting around. The investment in the paving and walkways makes this an excellent resort for those seeking an easy and less rigouress workout.
Miles of beaches run on for miles and miles with plenty of designated areas for sunbathing, swimming and kiting plus whatever else you fancy.
A small road train traverses the resort throughout the day and some of the night. Hop on and hop off for 3euros 25c return. Runs every 20 mins (timetable not always adhered to!).
A bus into Palma cost 1 euro 15c for a single fair (approx 80 pence). These run very frequently but be warned they are very busy and quite often are too full to stop and pick up. Share a taxi with others if you can but ask and agree for a price from driver before stepping in. We paid 12 euros from resort to Palma (approx. £8.40).
The only negative we could find was because it was the end of season a lot of the bars were closed. But we made up for this by visiting the Manchester bar to watch a bit of footie and photos (thanks Dave & Simon) so passing the time was not an issue.
Worth going into Palma to see the Cathedral, port and shops. Also, take time to visit the picturesque Bay of Soller via the Tren De Soller. Costs 11 euros return from Palma (approx £7.70) plus 2 euros for the tram ride to the bay from Soller (2 euros single fare). Take a camera and allow a full day for your visit.

Can Pastillia is mainly Spanish with some French & German. Very few English. Very near to airport.Between Palma city and Arenal

Bins needed empty more often. Stank of dog excrement, the poorest we have seen.
Dont go to Arenal for entertainment as its German entertainment.
The beach safe clean. This is a quiet resort but go to Arenal for fun!

Playa de Palma is a nice, family resort with good entertainment. You can either walk to Can Pastilla where you will find a few British bars e.g Ricky's Tavern and the Ratpack Bar (both do excellent breakfasts by the way), a nice harbour with good seafood restaurants or down to Arenal where there is much more nightlife. Prices are reasonable throughout the resort. The beach/resort is spotless. Arenal caters very much to the German (and to a smaller extent Dutch) holidaymaker and potential visitors should be aware of this. Before anybody complains, the Germans DO have a right to go on holiday and if you do not feel comfortable amongst lots of continental holidaymakers, you would be better choosing Palma Nova or Magaluf.

The resort was very clean and you would often see a little man from the beach cleaning the pavements with his sweeping brush.
They also rake the beach to get rid of any stray seaweed and any rubbish (if there is any).
From what I was told the entertainment was very good however I did not really experience it first hand.
Beach, well what can I say apart from fantastic, who needs the Maldives just come here!!!

Quieter resort than others on the coast with more Spanish visitors than Brits, but I think that will change as more of us find it!
We will go back soon.

A very Spanish resort. Nice walk on lovely prom went Jan/Feb so a lot of the bars and clubs were closed but tapas bars were open and made it feel very relaxed

In the summer the place is fantastic, over the winter it is dead totally.
Brush up on both your Spanish and German as they cater in the main for these people..
Beach is great.
Summer entertainment is normally of a good standard. If you can understand some of it it will be better..
