The pool is large and proved to be very popular along with the sunloungers set around it! Unfortunately as ever there are not enough sunloungers for the amount of hotel guests and to stop people reserving them at some ridiculous hour the doors to the pool area are kept locked until 9am by which time a large queue has built up. The cleaner left the door unlocked the one morning and people lay their towels out before 9am but the hotel staff went around and collected all the towels back up so they are strict about keeping it to 9am. There are some nice grassed area's which have sunloungers and these proved popular as they did tend to be a little more shaded and less cramped. There is a pool bar serving drinks all day long and snacks. We found the food and drinks to be reasonably priced and the waiters worked very hard and quickly to get you served.
We have stayed in a few hotels and I would say that the food in this hotel is the best we've had especially as it is only rated a 3*. The breakfast had a good choice of English or Continental, the only problem I had was with the milk for the cereal, I just couldn't take to it but many other's didn't have a problem. There was always plenty of choice for the evening meals and a nice choice of desserts and plenty of fresh fruit. There's waiter service at the table's if you wish to have a drink with your meal and the staff in the dining room always worked quickly to clear the plates away. They do have a dress code of an evening where men have to wear either long trousers or 3/4 but it's quite informal as some of the men wore 3/4 jogger's.
There is entertainment during the day for both the adults and kid's. There is a daily programme of what's on in the reception area of the hotel and they just make announcements through the day of when the activites are due to start. The entertainment team seem to work very hard and you don't get badgered into joining in with anything it's there if you want it. We enjoyed the entertainment of an evening which takes place outdoors around the pool area unless the weather's bad which we did experience the one evening so they lay it on indoors. There's a mini disco for the little one's each night and every other night before the main entertainment at 10.00pm, they played a quick game of bingo.
The hotel is ideally situated literally 2 minutes from the beautiful beach. There's an English bar right opposite the hotel which as many have said does have rather loud entertainment each evening but it does finish at midnight. There are 3 mini supermarkets also opposite the hotel but we did find the spar shop on the opposite end to the Palm's English bar to be the cheapest for certain things especially if you are buying bottles of water. If you cut through the grassed area to the left of the pool it brings you out right opposite the shop.
I would definately visit this hotel again. The only gripe we had was that the room we were allocated was right next to the lifts so we got constant noise from them day and night. It wasn't too bad in the day as we were hardly in our rooms but of an evening the constant noise went on into the early hours and then started again at around 6.30am. We booked this hotel direct so next time I would request a room away from the lifts.
The hotel is ideally situated for bus routes if you want to get out and about and the buses are more like coaches which are very reasonably priced.
The hotel proved popular with young families, couples, and families with older children so I would say it's a good all rounder. It seemed to cater well for the disabled or young families with pushchairs.
If you have booked this hotel or are considering booking it, I don't think you'll be dissappointed.

The room was large enough for four of us, having four beds, but still room to move around. We were on the ground floor which had nice views of the mountains.
However, we did not have a balcony or terrace which was not a problem for us but some people might prefer that they have one.
The dining room was large and we never had to queue at mealtimes. The food was very nice and there was lots of choice which was nice as we could try dishes we had not had before.
The staff worked very hard and cleared plates away quickly.
The entertainment was OK the staff again worked hard during the day and night and were very friendly.
I would visit this hotel again.

The food was much better than what we expected although we did eat out twice, there was plenty of choice each morning and evening.
The staff were all very friendly considering the hours they put in. There was plenty of activities during the day starting at 11am until 5pm.
The evening entertainment was ok the Elvis act was our favourite, my 12 year old daughter loved the bingo that was on each night at 9.30 she was determined to win and on our last night did.
We would recommend this hotel to our friends and family and look forward too going back one day.

Same music Night after Night. Pool Area clean with plenty of beds and umbrellas - Free. Main downfall of the Hotel, nnot really bothered that you have a 4.15 a.m. flight, had to give up room at 12 noon. No where to sit and relax, lights full on, not very sympathetic.
Bike hire available on site only 7 euros each for whole day. Also trips arranged through the Hotel, cheaper than the tour company. Overall good old fashioned Hotel

The best is the French Boules in the afternoon, it is a great way to meet new people and good fun. There is nightly entertainment to suit all tastes. If you go out there is a lively scene in the town which is suitable for all ages and not a purpose built resort.
The pool is huge and the view from our room overlooked it and the sea, lovely.
The hotel is kept clean and since our last stay in 2004 the bathroom and bedroom had been decorated and upgraded. This is a gradual process and there are still a few rooms that are still to be done.
The food is fine for a 3*, plenty of fresh fruit and choice of meals. The wine list is excellent.
The location is ideal. A 20min walk along the sea front to Puerto Pollensa, not a problem. Opposite the hotel there are good shops and bars. You can go and buy a chilled beer or wine from the shop fridge to sit and drink on your balcony before dinner if you like.
We were OK because we got a decent flight time to and from Gatwick.
An excellent value hotel which people return to time after time.
